This popped up on my feed -and I’m glad. I learned much from it. My Tissot has the ETA movement. I’m also looking at a Christopher Ward and this video helped me understand it’s SW200 movement -and specifically the idea that micros make changes to it, sometimes resulting in a designation that makes it appear in-house. Thank you!

The problem is damn few watch brands/models ever bother to mention which grade of movement their products have, far too often it is left at "automatic movement". The whole thing has soured me somewhat on the watch thing, especially those brands that want thousands for their products.

The ETA 2824 is great. Nice and reliable beater. The Doxa SUB1000T Professional uses one with a custom rotor and is one of my favorites.

If I had to choose a classic field watch of all that have ever been, I may just choose a Hamilton Khaki. Seiko maybe for dress and divers ✌🏼

Not sure which brand is more famous, but I’m going to say seiko over Hamilton. Seiko would have been heard of by more people outside of the watch world
