As someone without a degree that works in the indestry for years now... Not all of us have the time and money to do so. But we do have the skills and passion. If you can do the degree, go for it. The brightest people I work with are without a degree or a degree with an unrelated field. That's all.

what is that 'attribution' about? there are only so many ways to do the task in the best way possible if i write a npm for "forloop-function" then you are not allowed to ever use a for loop in your code unless you put my name in there? i'm not that skilled at JS but the steps are logical and both should do the same thing if they ... do the same thing also the npm version even has additional check if the Number.isFinite function exists, check that is not present in the oneline and the npm version is not just one line. attribution because they wrote a simple version of exactly what they actually needed?

JS has a perfectly acceptable standard library here. its just that people invented a stupid problem and nobody seems to realize that before claiming this problem is hard. `typeof x === "number"` is all you need, and if your data is a string that looks like a number... then its not a number and you need to fix your data.

Based on this, Javascript should include a minimization-macroing extension. IE. find a replace macro code that instead of requires(x), just call a macro_req(x). so then we do the code injection instead of downloading at the client.

I don't think Python should be adopted everywhere. But the story of my Python journey has been a never ending cycle of me saying "Oh I thought Python was bad for that. I guess that was just a lie."

This reminds me of every developer I've worked with who brags about how many hours they work and how good their code is. EVERY single one of them would check in crappy code at 1AM-3AM and break the entire app, then show up to work late and sleep deprived at 10AM after we just got done fixing THEIR bugs at 8AM AND talking to their manager. Then they would feel unfairly criticized, like we were some peasants who didn't understand what a superstar they were. No self awareness. It's like when a toddler stays up late and starts to fall asleep sitting on the couch. The toddler will insist they are NOT falling asleep. Everyone else in the room understands the situation except the toddler. All of the devs like this had daddy issues or lack of role models growing up. It's like they needed someone to pat them on the head and tell them they were a good boy. They didn't have someone to teach them basic rules in life so they become super opinionated in their own self-centered "discipline". Yuck.

i'm c# and i'm like the c# from the meme - besides gamedev it has relatively advanced support for functional programming and performance hacks so it's gonna attract both the scala guys and the transgender otaku girls with 5d autistic brains. which is also rust, ruby and kotlin. but there's also the "java chad"/"java corporate doomer" side to it. it's like dotnet is the corporatest but also c# is a 100x nerdier language than java. so it's a bit hard to pin down.

I studied computer science and did great at my studies and at a very good university. It did not pay off at all in the job market. It was NOT worth it at all.
