DIY videos focusing on hand stitching. More about Rene' and The Craft Table:
With an artistic eye and lifetime love of crafts, Rene' Martinez began quilting in 2004 and soon discovered a new passion. She was delighted to find herself in the middle of a new movement and a welcoming community of like-minded creatives. In 2009, she was encouraged to found the Orlando Modern Quilt Guild and still serves on the board. And now, Rene' has opened the doors of her new heartfelt creation, The Craft Table, as a way to share her inspiration and joy with others.
Tucked away inside eclectic Ivanhoe Village in Orlando, Florida, a charming maker space opens its door and welcomes you in to discover your crafty side. There's no experience required, only the desire to have fun. All-inclusive workshops and open craft nights weave strangers into new friends around the cozy, namesake table that inspires new skills in quilting, embroidery, cross-stick, knitting, crochet, macrame, and more.

This has been so much fun. I love that I can go back and refresh myself with how to do some stitches anytime. Thanks Rene.
Hi, Rene’. Thanks for this project that i enjoyed very much. I still have not finished my panel. There’s no hurry, it’s a very relaxing actvity so im taking it easy and enjoying. It’s been pleasure doing this with you. You are an excellent teacher, your instructions were very clear, very well explained. I hope to do some other project with you in the near future. I love to embroider!! So, let’s keep stitching!!! Again, thank you very for this wonderful experience.
It's been a fun, relaxing project. I look forward to doing something with you in the near future. Thank you for your great instructions and easy going personality. It was fun❤
Thank you, a great tutorial as always
french knots are great with this weight thread! so fun to make
I love the chain stitch!!
Great video! Love your lipstick….It looks fabulous! 💄😘💃🏻🎉🧵🪡
I do this 21/2" square way , with thread basting and press the resulting hexagon, no central glue though, then remove the paper insert and then sew the pressed hexagons together. It seems to work very well. We often find our own techniques without necessarily obeying the rules!
I love this stitch. It’s beautiful!
YAY! I am finally getting started - so excited;. I love this fabric panel and these colors. :)
Loved all the details around curves and running out of thread
Happy Birthday Rene’! I love the look of the 5 wt thread. I love French knots. Lately, I have been Colonial knots too. Have a happy summer! 😘🪡🧵🎉💃🏻
Thank you for creating these videos! I’m really enjoying the time spent stitching this summer.
Rene’, Great video! I love watching you stitch! Happy Sewing! 🧵🪡🎉💃🏻
Oh, thanks Shelly! That means a lot 😊
Thank you so much Rene! It's a beautiful piece! It will be fun to do!
Thank you, Nimmi! I hope you enjoy the stitching.
I love it!! It’s looking great!!You are great with the instructions! Can’t wait for next week’s stitch!
That's so nice to hear, Teresa! I appreciate it 😊
Another great tutorial and so many good examples
Thanks so much for the video! I’m having so much fun with this panel! Your instructions are fantastic ❤️
Oh, I am so glad you are enjoying embroidering the panel! I love hearing that 😊
I am enjoying your videos very much!
Thank you so much for letting me know! I appreciate the positive feedback!
Thanks for the great tutorial. I appreciate how detailed you were.
Thank you, Pam!
This is going to be fun! Good job!
Thanks so much, Marge!
Wonderful instruction! Thank you Rene❤
I am glad you found it helpful! Thanks, Joanna.
Thanks Rene! I got the email on my Gmail account. Do you recommend to use an interfacing such as SF101 on the fabric or will that make it harder to get the needle through?
Hey, Marge! Glad the email went through. As far as using an interfacing, that is a personal preference and totally up to you. I know some like to add a lightweight interfacing to have an extra little bit of stability. For this project, I, myself, did not use interfacing on the fabric before stitching. After the stitching, I did fuse the top fabric to fleece before making into a pillow. Hope that helps answer your question.
Im so excited!!!
Yay! I am excited that you are excited!
Already ordered the kit and can’t wait to get started!
Yay! Thank you, Judy, for ordering the kit. So happy you are excited to stitch along!
Sounds like fun!
Thanks, Wendy!
Thank you for showing both the trimmed and untrimmed fabric. I like to use mini charm squares with the 1" hexies and it's a bit of a pain to trim them, and I know in the past I didn't always, so I was trying to figure out if one way was the "right" way. Just seeing you doing it both ways made me feel better!
Thank you! I am glad you found it helpful. Of course, there is never just one "right" way ;-))
Help, please. I can never find the links to get the good stuff. I'd like to get the glue and pre-cut centers, but where are the links?.. Thank you.
Thanks for your comment. You can find the glue here: www.crafttableorlando.com/english-paper-piecing/sewline-water-soluble-glue-pen-blue and the precut papers here: www.crafttableorlando.com/english-paper-piecing/paper-pieces-1-hexagons-small-pack-100-pieces

So, when you said dress, I immediately saw a 50's type dress, simple sleeveless bodice, belted at the waist with a full skirt. Good-luck!
Thanks Wendy for that suggestion!

Hey Rene’, I think your first purple was too close in value to the blue.
Thanks Shelly for the feedback. That was my thought as well.
Hey Rene’, my Temperature Quilt from 2022 is still in progress too! I hope you get yours finished. It is going to be GORGEOUS! Happy Sewing! 🧵 🪡🎉💃🏻
I don't have as many projects as you do but I like the idea of keeping a project notebook.
Yep, I am a list maker ;-))
Love the pin cushion idea, yours turn out beautiful! I don't own enough fabric, but maybe one day I can make myself one ;) The 2017 fabric might work or go with a different color...may a bluish green.
Thanks for the feedback on the fabric choice. I still can't make up my mind. I definitely suggest making yourself a pincushion. They are a quick and satisfying project.
Love the pin cushion Rene!
Thanks so much, Lori! One can never have too many pincushions ;-)
I love everything you’re working on. (And I like All the colors together in your notabeebee quilt…..which I need to get back to asap.) I would be very interested in seeing regular updates-it will help me stay on track on my projects too.
Thanks so much, Ede! I’ll do my best to post regular updates.
You’ve inspired me to start a list of wip’s lol and maybe organize my craft room 😅
Yay! I love a good list!
I am loving those flower blocks on the design wall!
Oh thank you!!
Hi Rene’, I keep each of my projects in a 12x12 scrapbooking container. It helps me so much to keep it all together. I am working with Pam and Sharon on finishing WIPs this year. I hope I can get more closure on things this year. Hugs to you!
Thanks for the tips. I could definitely use a few more containers! When I run out of containers, I tend to put my WIPs in project bags. While it is good to have them gathered together, I can't really tell what it is when it is in a bag.
Thank you, Rene’!
You are so welcome, Stephanie!
How did I not know you had a RUclips channel!❤
Ingenious idea!!!
Beautiful video.. 😍
Joined your channel ❤ 💙 💜
Thanks for the beautiful video. Just before 2 hours I have done this stitch.. It looks really awesome.. ❤
Great Video. Love your tips on using this product.
Did you forget when in Florida summer it goes sometimes in 115-110’F. What is your colour for this temperature?. But a very good idea. Will you show us your quilt when it will be finish??
Yes, I will definitely show the quilt when it is finished! I don't remember it ever getting hotter than the 100's, but if it does get above 110 then I will use the color black. Thanks for your comment.
Cool ❤ I just start post RUclips like you.🌸 😁🤟
