Winchester 94 break down for cleaning.

I've always loved these rifles, but I really don't know much about them. I have the opportunity to break this one down and give it a good cleaning. Simple and effective design.

My equipment upgrades paid off and this 204 Ruger is simply amazing. Hit most of what I aimed at but still managed to leave some critters for next year. I hope you enjoy watching.

Ruger Mark 3 22/45 Upgrades: Mag Disconnect

First of several videos modifying this Mark 3 pistol to make it as awesome as the rest. The Mark 3 is the redheaded step child of the Mark series of pistols it's the last to offer the classic break-down main spring and it was the first and last to offer an LCI. But it is still a super accurate pistol and with a little love can be a great addition to anyone's collection.

6CM: Signs of life. Hornady 105BTHP
Просмотров 5932 года назад
Tested the Hornady 105 BTHP and it performed pretty well. Loads for this test were 39.5-41.1 grains of H4350 in 0.4gn increments. Seating depth was all the same at 0.020" off of jam. Groups tightened up pretty well with this bullet.

Just reverse ! lol. Easy for you to say ! lol. Thanks for posting! 💙🇺🇸🙋♂️👍🖖🏻
I load the V-Max bullet to in my 243AI and i have always loaded at THREE TENTHS OF A GRAIN and fine tune if needed at two tenths and even yho it seems your loading more you Cover the Spectrum of a full grain of powder and I ENDED UP with a 1/2 inch group loaded withH-4831SC 8:17 Monday
Well done!
Well done
My good sir, you need a new barrel and too work on your ignition.
Well made video. You sound a bit like Smoltz...
Great review. I have a polymer stock American in “jail” for pickup on Monday. The bolt is a bit rough but it should “burn” in well. Some good comments here on possible problems and fixes too so thank the other posters. Sorry to be so negative stirring the pot. 😂
The 44k?
How does it feel and compare to the Mark IV standard version in your experience.
How do you decide on a load to start seating depth testing?? Is it the load with the lowest sd?
Reloader 10x and lean on it up to safe pressure in your rifle. My CZ 527 likes 26.3 with that bullet.
What model of rifle and and twist rate?
I have had problems loading for .243 (6mm) to be quite honest it has been the bane of my reloading. I have struggled with .243 Win. and 6mm Creedmoor. They are a different breed of caliber. In my .243 Win. I am pushing a 90 Grain Nosler Ballistic tip with Varget. In my 6mm creedmoor I am pushing 75 Grain Hornady v-max with Varget also. In my other 6mm Creedmoor I am pushing a 108 grain Hornady ELD-M with Reloader 26 Behind it. The strange thing that I have found is that I have to run good brass. I use ADG in my competition gun with 108 Hornady. In my other 6mm, it likes Nosler brass. In my .243 It has to be Nosler Brass. Hornady, starline and winchester brass wouldn't perform like I wanted. I found that the brass was inconsitant thickness at the neck. Which made my groups all over the board like yours. I hope this might help you.
Just got these bullets and put them on top of ramshot hunter … I’m excited to try them after see u shoot the same bullet 😊
What model of 204 is that?
Please stop neck sizing! Fl size your brass you will get better results
Most excellent.
wait.. you need to get one? ... you're disassembling someone else's gun? hmm
I love mine. Got it last week with a bonus from the last site I was on. Had to locktite all the site screws, but I do that on guns anyway
So you're gonna get a thermal? You just keep ragging on this equipment, but you know, it's exactly built. You're really not thinking.
What the hell do you expect for 6 hundred dollars dude
I see this video is 4 years old. Who did you have as a gunsmith to work on your action? Where are they out of?
Great video for anyone attempting to do this. John Browning was a very clever man to design that action . Cool
Been reloading alot of my 243 with an 8 lb keg of H4831sc. Only because when I started reloading H4350 was unobtanium. Mostly been using it for 90 grain ELDx - 103 grain ELDx and 100 grain generic SPBTs. Been very happy with my results using H4831sc. However I have finally been able to aquire a keg of H4350 and now will start using it for lighter bullits in my REM 700
I used 68g for reloading but both my rifles like the75g otm the best but 68g does just fine
What kind of barrel are we talking about here?
Halfway through and I’m convinced never to disassemble one of these things. Someone invented a bore snake for a reason, and this is it.
Wow. Thank you! I watched so I could take it apart and again to get it back together.. I had to keep re watching bc I did something stupid.. I didn't have my bolt pin in correct but it was still grabbing the arm , just not through the hole as it should .. So mine operated badly but operated.. So I figure if it's kind of operating it must be good cuz you can't put it together wrong. It must just be because the rear stock isn't on yet. There is design harmony over every inch of this rifle . It ended up locking up on me when I gently tried to function test.. I had to remove every screw and part but they weren't dropping free bc of how I jambed it up... To my relief after 30 min of being very gentile a peice fell out and then all the guys with it... My bolt won't sit flush with the chamber bc of my extractor.. so to put the bolt pin in correctly I had to use all my right hand to hold it closed and left hand trying to lighn up the holes all while the bolt is pushing back making alignment very tough .. I had a smoke, watched ur vid one more time and I was relieved to finally get it right ... Thank you for taking the time to make this vid.. I don't know what the parts are called either. I just know I had to have at least one lever gun in my collection and it had to be cleaned lol.. the 30-30 will never die . Such a fun gun for plinking .. Mine had a marbles rear apiture sight installed b4 I bought it that just stays out of the way folded down.. But once you push that peep sight up I wouldn't want to be Infront of that rifle even with 600 yards.. We hit goofballs at 100.. Sooo satisfying and it will do it all day long .. It never heats and strings shots or changes poi... If you're watching this and don't have a Winchester 94 lever run to your gun store as quick as you can because I know they at least have one. As long as it's a 3030 grab it, pay them for it. Thank them and go enjoy life Every bulge, contour and angle is part of the design. The extremely reliable design. I didn't imagine so at first once I took it apart to see everything inside. But after I messed it up once I realized that every single thing on that rifle is made in a special way to make that design work and keep it dead reliable
On
nice job
I can only find it in composite stock, there are some beautiful checkered wood stock versions but for another $200...
This pistol is worth every penny.
Can you get that pistol in blue/black finish?
Try some varget very temp tolerant.
I never got a box like that with mine!
First things, Thanks for you video. I have the same press and love it too. Personaly, I do prime when opening the mouth, saving on step.
Man you saved me I couldn’t get my lever back in! goodness I forgot it had to go into the slot. THANK YOU
The screw you are referring to is called the yoke screw and is a fitted screw. It should be replaced in the same location. In fact it is good practice to return all screw to their original location so you must keep track of them. When tightening the extractor rod, place 2 or 3 dummies or cartridge cases spaced around the cylinder to prevent damage to the extractor star. The key is not to over tighten; just snug it up. Thanks for posting your video.
Nice video Working on a lite restoration of a 1952 Model 94 This is very helpful Thanks
why the 40s & 50s for test ?
Ruger is fugging up their designs and fugging up their manufacturing if they are hand fitting the bolts. Its 2023 man!! What is wrong with them???
"People out there laughin'...screw you!" as you're screwing a screw.... Just picked up my Mark 4 Target today and added the same part, along with Hogue grips; mine didn't have a cap screw (just a peg for mine). I can pull the bolt (Volquartsen because I caught a sale and was going to add their firing pin and extractor anyway) back with my left hand and use my thumb with my right hand to push up on the bolt release and lock the bolt back. Dropping it with my thumb is MUCH easier. Hardest thing was removing the stock grips and getting the Hogue grips on (and not cross threading the screws). I've always like the fluted barrel on the hunter but I'm happy with my Target (I have a Mark 2 and that thing is a pain to disassemble). Thanks for the video!
Well I got mine sighted in and no issues that you speak of. Love my gun no jams and have killed 3 squirrels on this years hunt. I changed out the trigger spring to a 2# pull and the gun works great. Shoots the best with the 40 grain 1200 fps AR CCI round with 5 round Nickle group at 50 yards. Going back out tomorrow to do some more small game hunting. Hope you got your gun figured out by now. I do wish I would have upgraded to the wood stock which I prefer like you. Still a great gun for the money.
I found that the older bog death grip without the ball head holds my rifles more steady than the bog with the ball head. I imagine that the higher end ball head tripods work well also. That old bog is pretty steady for me though. The farther forward on the forearm (away from you) that you mount the rifle is better also.
Your gonna regret thermal, the image from thermal for hunting blows
Whats with the horrible 32 degrees and above rating on this, anyone have a clue ? What happens if you go below 32 degrees?
great guns love it
Me too!! Had to have!!!!😎
I regret buying my American Rimfire. The center line of the magazine does not line up with the center line of the chamber so consequently the ammunition gets hung-up when the nose of the bullets hit the left side of the chamber. Ruger refuses to fix it. Garbage company!
Beautiful ❤️ I had one in sight last Feb.. when I went to the local gun shop. I actually put a rifle on layaway.. got home and thought about it.. went back in March and was going to grab it.. GONE! I'll luck into one.. eventually! I'm certain they're a lot of fun 😁
