All of which are smaller games when compared to the scale of FFXV. When you make a big game, the graphics are going to suffer, that's how consoles work, there's always a trade off.
Basically this guy plays the fight perfectly. He spaces his way back to get off some hits with the shurikens, comes in with the sword in the air, while tapping the triangle button in order to get behind the iron giant. To get back some MP, he hits once or twice real quick with the broadsword in the middle of his strikes so as not to have to escape to a warp point to refuel. All that's left is to time your attacks carefully and switch to the Hero's shield for defense, parrying any and all offense so as to counter and punish him hard. Just hold circle when the attack message pops up and you let it rip!
Thank you for actually uploading an example of what can be done with the game's current combat system. Pretty much all of the gameplay consists of people not realizing that they have no magic, no mp or not even realizing they have the armiger when the game is literally telling them on the screen. Even when it tells you in the hints that some attacks cannot be dodged, they are surprised when they couldn't dodge an attack. Not to mention none of them realized you could do mixups by doing different inputs on the left thumbstick. Idk why some of them are so oblivious, but this is a masterful demonstration.
90% of the people didn't know how to play the game that's why there is so much hate about it. I'll give you an advice. You can interrupt a wark strike by switching your weapon during the teleportation animation. With this trick you can approach ennemies without hitting them. It's pretty cool.
See? Hey, NeoGaf noobs. Boo hoo. Looks like you all need to get a grip... and git gud before blaming the game because you all suck and because you all heard opinions from people that sucks too. LOL
kai coates anybody with the motor skills of 8 year old can beat this thing. All the fucking fanboys are acting like it's a complex professional fighting game in response to the retards saying "hold O to win". It's not "hold O to win", but then again it's not rocket science either. That was my point.
Tap attack and then hold attack quickly after. You have to be switched to the broadsword though. You can use a different weapon for the first attack, just make sure you hurry and switch to the broadsword before you hold the attack button after.
Right and you can play this demo better than the footage here... The only thing stupid here is you! Lastly, just to provide you with some actual perspective, not everyone has to see one game superior to another being as some game's believe it or not want to actually try to be different for a change.
relu419 You can mix up combinations with air, warping, special moves and by manually switching your weapons. Lastly, of course it's locked to basics only being as it's only a demo.
Odd... "attacking and avoiding hits" is pretty much what you do in DmC, Ninja Gaiden, and Bayonetta just the same. See how that works when you only describe the concept and not the actual details? Hell every arpg is about "attacking and avoiding damage" ....stupid way of generalizing it all huh?
+belmiro2008 Full toturial here : sites.google.com/site/darkwavestyle/games-research/final-fantasy-xv-platinum-demo . You need to pause your attack with you greatSword .
This kind of ATB system sure was innovative when Wolf Team/Namco came up with it over 20 years ago for the 'Tales of' series. Leave it to Squeenix to make it look boring and sterile with plenty of pointlessly flashy effects.
I'm not saying this isn't fun to play, because it is. However, I liked the Duscae combat 100% more. For one, there was more you could do with Armiger (once you found all 4 Swords). Also, since Armiger ran off your MP in Duscae, leveling up increased its length, unlike here where it now has its own gauge. Also, I liked being able to equip 5 different weapons and choose in which situations those weapons were used. Now, you have one weapon made for aerial combat, another for defense, another for range - and I get that the same "needs" are met by these weapons but I liked experimenting with placing the weapons in Duscae in different roles. Plus, you could have 5 equipped in Duscae, now we're down to 4 (3 if you choose to equip Magic as well). The Block and Parry system in this version seems to have been weakened as well. Then there's the fact that you have to have the Airstep Sword on to Warp to higher spots, where in Duscae you could just Warp whenever you felt like it regardless of what was equipped. I'm still very much looking forward to this game, and hope some of my doubts will get resolved on release. But I think the reason people hated Duscae so much was just because they didn't know how to play it (and granted, it did lack a Tutorial for the finer points of combat and equipment). I just hope these people that are still complaining don't cause Square to break things even further just because people don't know how to play the game.
+cowboybbp1 the Armiger in the Duscae demo might be a upgrade you get later on in the game. So that might come back. You can pick and choose what weapons you want. I don't get the complaining about 4 weapons. Most games are only 2 weapons anyways.. But I do agree with the parry, it did get a down grade.
+cowboybbp1 I played duscae, and I vastly prefer the platinum demo combat system. In duscae, you could equip 5, but they were limited to the situation (ex. just a jump attack, just a finisher attack, etc). Here in plantinum demo, even though you have only 4, you have more options because the weapons can be used in all situations and you can switch to them right when you want it. All the other concerns, you shouldn't have doubts because you forget that this is an ARPG. In this demo, we're playing as weak Noctis, and in the full game, once we level him up, we will no doubt be able to do much more in combat and be more powerful with Armiger.
they didn't give you any instruction whatsoever they just made you fight enemies before this that were easier than Fable 2 they didn't fight back or hurt you whatsoever so you never really got any combat experience in and if you want to fight this boss again you have to run through the whole dream part again which sucks ass and I never did see any way to do that whole flying around the map thing I never did get whatever it is that makes it so you can throw a sword and fly places they never did instruct you on anything like that it was more like a fuck you we won't tell you anything and I go fuck yourself for one thing to play our game and have fun
I just found out that you can blow up the yellow barrels with fire to create a massive explosion. Fire is also weak when it rains, just some things to put out there for people saying "hold circle to win"
For the broadsword, you can execute the charge as a pause finisher. What I mean by that is, after your initial attack or combo string, release the button, after a short amount of time passes, the game will prompt you to press the attack button again. In most other weapons' cases, you will do a finishing move, but with the broadsword you can charge up the last swing.
Now THIS is how you fight to the best of your ability in the demo. Making full use of the tools here. Good dodges too, those are tricky to get right sometimes, especially when dealing with the ground pound.
I remember Tetsuya Nomura saying as director a while back when this was still Versus XIII that he wanted to make the game to have action/moves/skills like those shown off in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Up until now I really haven't seen a player who has properly controlled/utilized the gameplay technique as well as you have to make his dream come true. WOW.
+shadowpal2 Have you ever played a 'Tales of'? This has been what the battle system has been like for years for that series, Squeenix is extremely late to the party if anything.
woah that's cool, when is this game coming out?
Toy.☠️🇲🇾☠️🌟
Watching you play is an absolute pleasure sir
Did the final blow moves just removed in the release gameplay?? (the greatsword)
+Hewf Would you mind making a video on the combat system, to explain it a little bit better than the game does?
うますぎる
are this demo visual final?...coz the graphic does not impress...
No, the demo was released on April, SE said the image quality will be far better for the official game.
"Graphic does not impress" How could this possibly not impress you. The graphic style and quality is still amazing. What are you even expecting here.
chickmcjr not much..something between uncharted 4 ,the order 1886 ....last of us perhaps....

This reminds me of Final Fantasy I. See the resemblance?
And to think... all you have to do is hold "O" to do allllll of that.
Can we appreciate that INSANE BACKFLIP DODGE at 0:29?
Fucking superb skill on display here. GG!

how did you do that?
The game is not fun......until you try it yourself.....that is it.

It looks like using the Great Sword refills your MP. Am I seeing that right?
Doubts: Erased

Lol I love how all the cute fans act like it's rocket science now.
Feel free to post your own iron giant fight and school us with your simple/down to earth skills then.
Bran Reed I gotchu
+Bran Reed he never gotchu

+Jomez j lol haha, sorry if I had angered you, someone worthless like me shouldnt be as comedic as I was, sorry! 😅
Looks about as fun as Lego game combat
If you're having actual "fun" with _Lego_ games' combat, then WTF are you doing here?! *This is a REAL FUCKING VIDEO GAME we're dealing with here.*
I think SE should invite this guy to E3 xbox gameplay presentation...
How do you do that charging thing with the broadsword at the end?
Tap attack and then hold attack quickly after. You have to be switched to the broadsword though. You can use a different weapon for the first attack, just make sure you hurry and switch to the broadsword before you hold the attack button after.
Thank you! I'm going to give it a shot now!
This is stupid. Attack, avoid, teleport and attack. DmC, Ninja Gaiden and Bayonetta are so far superior and don't have a shit slowdown.
Right and you can play this demo better than the footage here... The only thing stupid here is you! Lastly, just to provide you with some actual perspective, not everyone has to see one game superior to another being as some game's believe it or not want to actually try to be different for a change.
***** I don't care how I play or how do you play, this is about combinations. FF XV Platinum is locked with basic sequences.
relu419 You can mix up combinations with air, warping, special moves and by manually switching your weapons. Lastly, of course it's locked to basics only being as it's only a demo.

Okay so why the fuck were these combat techniques not shown in the tutorial? Or did I just miss half of them...
WTF!!! 😨😨😨 THE MONSTER COULDN'T EVEN TOUCH HIM ONES. WHEN I PLAYED AGAINST THIS MONSTER HE KICK THE SHIT OUT OF ME 😯
Lol I tried doing a four weapon playthrough of this fight to start my own channel, but I just don't compare 😅
The focus attack at 1:00... Hot do I use it?
+belmiro2008 Full toturial here : sites.google.com/site/darkwavestyle/games-research/final-fantasy-xv-platinum-demo . You need to pause your attack with you greatSword .
How does work that focus attack with the biggest sword?
This kind of ATB system sure was innovative when Wolf Team/Namco came up with it over 20 years ago for the 'Tales of' series. Leave it to Squeenix to make it look boring and sterile with plenty of pointlessly flashy effects.
+The Stoned Porcupine Like you can do any of this shit in the tales game. Nice bait, troll.
Looks easy.
+Necrosun Try it and find out for yourself.
k
Holy shit!!!! That's amazing!!
Ooh, fancy!

I can't warp effectively. Help!

I just found out that you can blow up the yellow barrels with fire to create a massive explosion. Fire is also weak when it rains, just some things to put out there for people saying "hold circle to win"
Oh! SO you charge up and hold down the heavy blade to do heavy combos. Is that just for the heavy weapons or all of them?
For the broadsword, you can execute the charge as a pause finisher. MrVince329 I wonder if all skills will be Quick Timed Events or Reaction Commands like Kh2's.
kokayi Newsome I would only really say that applies to specific parries from enemies.
Tutorial please /o\.

NICE gameplay. Others have been so....frustrating to watch.
How do you play like that?? Just wow!
FFXV: DMC combos and individual movesets & characteristics (damage, stagger, Warp-Strike, etc.) for each weapon KHIII: Disneyland rides.
