HOW to deal with BMW DRIVETRAIN MALFUNCTION WARNING
Back to Toyota my friend.I really got headaches with my BMW 2013 x3 xdrive28i 2.0 . Anything will be drive train malfunction between 1000$ to 18,000 dollars…. Mỹ next car back to Toyota….
I got new coil packs so now I have to get vacuum pump and lines which bmw will fix for 2900 hundred dollars
My 750li 2012 drive training malfunction light comes on when I try to punch it for more speed
Ciao Bmw X5 xdrive 40 E I have the same problem now, after one boost , open the light with drive train. I check with mu mechanic told me is air pressure . We chance the sensor the same problem. Wednesday i go to bmw to see what is next , tester and diagnostics. Hope don't be some expensive part.
None😌still looks brand new for 2015!
Now my bmw smells stink like egg or sum dead shit
Same thing happen to me today from haven’t drive my bmw since hurricane berly now battery problems
bro please tell me you have a clear coat or something
👌
I can’t believe I just wasted my time Mr payola this is completely unhelpful
Replaced my battery in my wife’s 12 650i after the car died in an intersection . Now with new battery in it just clicks and is now displaying this message. Any ideas ?
Did you sort this
@@ajaypaul4047what ?
Ok so I have a 2015 M4 with about 68k miles and I was driving my car and was backing into my garage and the drivetrain malfunction light came on when I was reversing into my garage so should I be worried? And is it cool to drive it?
Do you have a tracker on your vehicle? most people I’ve read about and asked says they do and I’m starting to think it’s very much possible for people who finance their bmw
No tracker
Needs a new starter !
Needs a new starter motor
Hi did it work when you but new starter
@@mrpayola4466my car has now the same problem 116d did a new starter motor work?
What year?
I knew without looking it up. If u think about how violent a sudden start up is at every light ud know it will wear on ur pressurized lines and gaskets. Not worth it to me so i keep that feature off. Ill pay for the fuel consumption. Its not that deep
Today also at me bro... same error..328i f30..😓🙁
Jus made a video of my starter motor failing …i wonder why lol 🧐
damm ass
That's the same problem I have with hybrids. Every time the engine shuts off, the oil run down to the botton of the pan. When it starts back up, the engine turns several times before the oil gets back to the valves and pistons. Internal combustion engines were never designed to start and stop.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news guys. Driving your car is gonna put wear on the engine over a certain period of time
Toyota mastered it first time…..bmw designed theirs to break the car
pretty sure they have the starter on the maintenance schedule
dont need the owners manual to let us know that much
Have to get into the habit of disabling this every time you start the car. Some cars, like some Porsches, allow you to permanently turn it off but in other instances it just has to become a habit. I taught my girlfriend this in her VW Tiguan.
For the first few months I kept forgetting to turn it off! Lol
this is what happens when government dictates to you in areas they know nothing about.
If you have M money, things like this shouldn't of concern. What a fuckin clown
Keep in mind that you read that out of the same manual that tells you your transmission fluid is "lifetime". Never mind that ZF who actually designed and built the trans will tell you to change the fluid at no later than every 8 years or 80k km... (same goes for every other "lifetime" fluid like differential and transfer case as well) As for the additional wear; while BMW has no official numbers they've released, Toyota has actually documented how many starter cycles it allows before it disables the auto start/stop system: 384,000. That's more than 21 starts every single day for over 50 years. Even if BMW starters are half as reliable I think we're fine leaving it on. As for the fuel savings, most estimates put it at about 15% when using it which is pretty significant. Finally, if the system really does annoy you that much, you can use Carly or Bimmercode to code the car to remember the last setting; that way you only have to turn it off once and it'll remember that from then on.
Its the transmissions lifetime, not your lifetime........ the transmissions "lifetime" is 8 years or 80.000km (50k miles). that is exactly when you need to change the oil. This is one of the trickiest marketing terms i have come across, as everybody seems to think, great, that is going to be 86 years! no... its not.
Used BimmerCode on my wife’s 540i and turned it off permanently
This guy is correct, start/ stop DOES increase wear and tear. Plenty of anecdotal evidence exists to support this.
Yeah it puts more wear on starter motor and battery but they build them little stronger to compensate. It's not that big of a deal worth that kind of reaction and youtube video. I mean driving your car also puts more wear on it so it's best to leave it in a garage and walk 😅 Anyway, I had it disabled on my car when it was being tuned.
Hey, buddy, you're missing the point. This feature conserves fuel when you're stuck in traffic or at a red light by automatically shutting off the engine. Consequently, it has to restart the engine, which puts some extra strain on the starter, but the wear is minimal, and starters seldom fail.
Yeah you just need to be sensible. If you're in an annoying traffic jam which is just moving and it's triggering stop start regularly at short intervals - then turn it off. If you approach a light from way back you realise it'll turn green soon after arriving - turn it off. If it's just doing its job occasionally saving your car sitting running unnecessarily, then let it do its thing.
In reality the mere efficiency is just 1-2% at best. The truth behind start/stop is to reduce gases and emissions, given the current laws and restrictions. Thank you
@@artgreen6915if you’re spooling the turbo then you should never use auto start stop. The car needs to cool and it can’t do that when off.
@@WilliamTorres23Where tf do you think those emissions come from? burning excess fuel lmao. I get a COMBINED 36 MPG on my non-hybrid Honda Accord because of this feature (and yeah, I disable it when I feel like I will only be stopped for 10 seconds or less.)
@@dealkill2396 ah okay
It would be interesting to compare the fuel savings vs the extra wear to battery, starter, flywheel / flexplate, (oiled surfaces if sitting for too long).
Stock sound wow
what if i have a brand new OEM 92 battery installed by BMW & I keep getting this message? Got the message in the morning & the car completely died.. Had to be jump started
Sounds like a potential electrical issue..something is draining the battery for sure! Hope you got it sorted out
for me i had a parasystic draw and nothing was killing my battery and it would die
i have a new battery and alternator n still dies
Same issues i bring my car to the dealer and they say it will cost me like 25 thousand dollar to get the car fixed
😢😳
That’s crazy
Had ro get new freaking computer
😢
I still have the same thing on my 2013 f30 335i and also there is no power like before it has stage 2 + but runs now like worser then before stock
I have the same with my F32 435i man, i fixed all oil leaks, cleaned both the vanoses, changed oil (Castrol Full Synsetic W05-30) and still have the problem when i’m accelerate hard. I’m thinking maybe to change the oil pump but it’s expensive and i don’t know if that’s the problem is. Very annoying
Codes 123401 ( electri wastegate learning limits stop malfunction ) and 123432 ( Electronic wastegate learning limits stop: stop position, wastegate position close out of tolerance. ) mechani just shorter the wastegate link from the turbo aprox 1/4 if an inch and no more dravetrain malfunction.
Pull coils out 1 by 1. I had one bad one
Maybe will help some1, i have f30 320i bmw and had this problem draintrain. It was because dpf had reached its lifetime (was never replaced 250 000km)
The keys store settings in memory, like seats, steering wheel, lights, and also eco, sport, and more driving settings, probably the spare key has something set up that enables that.
You could be right
02 sensors was my problem
Sheesh 🔥
B&O is creazy!
Oh yeah way better!
Sickkk!
I have the 2015 model, doesn’t sound good though
BMW is issuing a global recall of 26,900 new plug-in hybrid vehicles due to a fire risk posed when its batteries are charged to full. The recall impacts several models manufactured during the 2020 calendar year, including the X1, X2, X3 and X5 hybrid SUVs, plus hybrid versions of the 3-, 5- and 7-Series. Also affected are the 2-Series Active Tourer, i8 and the Mini Countryman PHEV if assembled since January 2020.The automaker says fewer than a third of the affected vehicles are in customer hands, with the rest on dealer lots; and says most are in Europe, though the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says 4,509 cars are affected in America. The problem has been traced to contaminants entering the battery during production which could lead to a short-circuit when fully charged. The NHTSA names Samsung as the battery supplier, though BMW would not confirm this. The automaker did say it has not received any reports of injuries or accidents tied to the issue, but is aware of one “thermal event.” Earlier this week, Ford pushed back plans to launch its Escape Hybrid in the U.S. after its European sibling Kuga underwent a similar recall for a fire risk. The Kuga’s batteries are made by Samsung.
Had this happen to me in my 2018 x5 xdrive35i. Had low oil pressure resulting in my engine seizing up from letting it warm up. When I returned to my car it was not running and would not start. $18,000 for a new engine.
No warranty from BMW? 😢
They are the best criminals. They keep prisons full!
😂
Key safes profile, and also seperate seat memory etc. Just change ED to Comfort Mode or sportmode in the middle console to change the display and drive mode😅
I like seeing it on the dash:)
Ignition coils, spark plugs, and pcv valve breathers may need to be checked, as well as a tune up too. Thats what i was educated on with my BMW and I confirmed with a OBD Scan too. Once i addressed and replaced them, it went away and hasnt shown up again. 💯
👍
Yea sir got my plugs and coils changed all good to go !
Did your bmw had fuel system pressure code on the ObS ? I’m having this problem
Thank you for an information.
