Perhaps the fairies in Ireland take on the appearance of foxes! There is the risk of disease from blackberries picked below knee height as this is where foxes pee.

The last winter and spring were indeed extremely rainy, not only in Charente but in all of France, here in Charente Maritime as well. Spring and summer were not very nice either and September is very ugly compared to other years. Let's hope that the winter will be less rainy! I live in Cognac and it is a lovely small town with many interesting walks with the dogs along the river or through the wooded park behind my home, it's a peacful area.

Where is the waterproofing??? Tiles and grout don't hold water and there will potentially be mold and water damage under the tile without waterproofing. Water will go in all the seams that are not sealed with waterproofing

Bathroom is working its way to fabulous. Meticulous preparation and tiling! My brother's renovated guest bathroom is grey and yellow. Very nice for his 1920's "Craftsman" home. Subtle, slightly vintage look. I also appreciate how you have kept the great flooring, door and are restoring the shelving,

Bravo! However: In the US we NEVER use 'green gypsom' board as a substrate directly for tile. We treat this type board with a waterproofing material like the Schlutter System (or an equal) prior to adhering the tile.
