Swapped out the old rings for a new set of weaver rings and sighted the rifle for a friend.
i dont see no thread on my patriot 243 barrel 😔
@@jomjohny you can get a clamp on break from Witt machine. They have good instructions on their website on how to get the right size.
5 rounds?? U should b able to do it in 2
Is that the ww2 1903 bolt and parker hales own made reciever?
@kimpedersen8851 it's an old rifle but honestly I don't know. It's a buddies rifle. I should ask him.
What size scope is that? I was wondering if a 50mm objective will fit. I am looking to buy a wolf v2 and a 3x9x50 scope. Thank you!
@T-ROY_69 I believe it is a 50mm lense. Maybe a millimeter of room between the scope and barrel. Super tight fit
They are 1000% not baffles lol. They are ports. Huge difference
Parker Hale No ''and'' The good old 98 M made in Spain I believe.
torque All bolts and screws
The only negative I've found in the Axis I is the heavy trigger pull. You can pay $60 or so more for an Accutrigger/Axis II, do a trigger job or try to adjust your scope for it. Having addressed that, (if it's an issue), both Axis rifles are great shooters. Thanks for your video.
Checking the reviews on these rifles. They're currently two fifty after rebate with mounted scope for the lower end model. Nice presentation. Hadn't seen that ammo before.
1975 my dad gave me a Parker-Hale 308 cal.. Factory stock with a palm swell. Very accurate at 100 yards bench or off hand. I’m 68 yrs old don’t hunt like I use to so grandson will get it!
Try Federal 165gr. Used them for years out of my 308 Browning AB3. I get 3/8” to 3/4” groups all day long. Factory ammo.
federal fusion? thats the only 165 gr i can find here in australia
@@moussatannous1261 try federal fusion 165 gr. It’s just a matter of finding the load and bullet that your rifle likes and the 165’s are a good place to start.
It is not correct to say that muzzle loaders are not accurate. The rigby was used in the Creedmore matches to shoot at targets 1000 yds away. I have shot a rigby reproduction at 400 yds and hit the gong. That gun keeps up to a 40-65 sharps and a 45-70 sharps.
how many yards are you boresiting it never mentioned is it a 100? I just bought this rifle at Christmas never shot it yet can't wait...
Yes 100 yds.
Did you tighten everything before shooting? If not then your mistake.
My Axis likes heavier bullets because of the rifling pitch.
Did you just call that 3inch group ready to go. Yeaaaaa 👌
THIS GUY IS A JOKE, IF YOU HAVE THAT MUCH MOVEMENT IN AMMO THEN YOU CANT SHOOT
REMINGTON CORE LORK SHOT THE BEST IN ALL THE RUGER GUNS
Good Video, really enjoyed it. Thanks.
Great vid! Would love to hear more about the stock story. (I ordered a Mossberg Patriot Night Train .308)
This might be a dumb question but when I unscrew the threaded cap on the end of the barrel my 5/8 x 24 muzzle brake won’t fit. I have the 30-06. Could I maybe need an adapter?
I'm guessing so. 5/8" x 24 tpi is a fairly common threading.
Scope not right on front mount look
are you for real ; front scope ring is on the piss you re tard .
I have a 783 Remington in 223rem..mine came with a beautiful wood stock on it..I mounted a Bushnell 4x12 scope on it,,And it is a very accurate gun ..Not fussy on what you shoot out of it..Either! I use Hornady Super Performance 55gr..Winchester 55gr or 40gr. Nice and light to carry..smooth action,,
Iv not have very good luck lately with the winchester white box
First time for me and definitely had issues.
@@berloguns1400 keep it up
Cool but describe what you are doing for folks that don't know yet. Like how to boresight. Got the same thing with my Axis, heavy trigger.
I tend to assume to much lol. Good idea for another video.
Need you a bore sighter so you can bore sight it 1st.
Yes I do need one.
how do i put a muzzle break on the barrel?
If your barrel is threaded on the outside confirm thread size and order a muzzlebreak in the proper size or if the barrel is not threaded then you'll need to get a clamp on device. Witt machine has some very good options. Just follow their recommendations with measuring your barrel and they can send you the right size muzzlebreak.
@@berloguns1400 thabk you
Great looking rifle
Honestly, after watching this guy shoot, with what would be called an entry level rifle, which I have the same brand in a different caliber and model in bold action shooting at 100 yards. I don't feel so bad!
After a session at the range, I've never had a case where I couldn't put my hand on the barrel. The threshold number for your hand is about 135°. What's your opinion on touching the barrel to gauge how hot it is?
I try to stay away from getting the barrel so hot that I can't keep my hand on the barrel but I go past that sometimes.
@@berloguns1400 in your mind, when the shots start varying, how hot to the touch is it? Is it warmer than a piece of toast? The 135° numbers a solid data point because most people can't hold their hand on something. Any hotter than that. When I got done with a 15 round session today on my 5.56 ranch rifle, it was slightly warmer than a lukewarm cup of coffee. I was shooting a shot every minute and a half.
@Fp Pro very often when it gets to that warm coffee cup tempt it starts spreading on most light barrel rifles I shoot.
@@berloguns1400 well worth knowing! Thanks!
Where did you find the barrel dimensions?
For the break?
Threaded muzzle then it should be on their website and for a clamp on muzzlebreak you need a caliper. You would measure the outside diameter roughly 1" from the end of the barrel and also again caliper width from end of the barrel.
Looking good!
Just found your channel,I enjoy your content
Thank you!
Very nice video sir!
Mine shoots awesome! 200 yards 140 gr
what Bullet weight?
130 gr
I shoot a CVA Optima V2 50 cal LR nitride rifle. I am shooting hornady 250gr sst bullet. With blackhorn powder 84grs by weight. I shot a 3 shot group that measure 1/2 group at 100. If mine wouldn't better than an 1 inch i would trade it off. Try loose triple 7 or blackhorn. Try it at 150gr of triple 7. Or 120gr by volume of blackhorn. I have killed 3 deer this season with mine. Keep Trying different powder charges. That would wolf will shoot a 1 inch or less at 100.
Me as well, got mine in a rainbow eucalyptus wood stack with a Nikon pro-staff BDC 3-9x40 easy sub MOA.
take the scope off its a muzzleloader right
Did you clean after each shot ,sometimes that helps, then try for a better group .
I have the Ruger American .243 Win. with the Vortex Crossfire scope and very happy with it!
At 25yds scope adjustment is 1/16 inch. 1/8 50 yds. 1/4 100 yds. Assuming the scope is set at 1/4 per 100 yds.
Yes and 1 moa is .25" @25yd.
After I determine a good load , I always mark my ramrod to help with consistency and it will also let you know you're load is completely seated...
Your shooting way to fast, you need to let the barrel cool off before you shoot each of those rounds. You just end up blowing what would have been a great group.
Never like shooting single loaded rounds. I know they are more accurate because they get no deformation from the feed ramp but that isn't real world hunting. Single loading you will never know if you have magazine feeding problems until hunt day in the field, and then it's too late.
TIP DEFORMATION DOESN'T AFFECT ACCURACY THAT MUCH - SMOOSH A TIP OR TWO AND CHECK IT OUT - :^) .
I have the same rifle but in 7mn
as we say here in Texas, all you're doing is pissin into the wind. None of these 4 videos produced any real good groups. All over the place.
Hello from Australia! I can see that your muzzle brake is a clamp on type. Can you please point me to where to get my hand on one exactly the same online? I had no luck so far
Witt machine makes them. They are American and when you call them they will sometimes ship outside of US
