How I solved my door ajar/overhead lights staying on problem on my 2000 Ford Excursion 7.3
Mine seems to drain ok, but there is always some water left in the bottom of the filter basket. Does your do the same thing or does it drain until dry?
Thank you so much for your help!
Solid ass video, super helpful thank ya sir
The replacement hose is: DD81-01502A
Not for that model is too long.for thus model they don't sell the hose it come assembly and discontinue by samsung
@@VisualQC75 It's SLIGHTLY too long, but it works.
2024 . Thank You! 2003 7.3L
I tried this and it didn't work for me. I'm not sure what else to do but disconnect my battery. Most cars have some kind of button on the door but I cannot find anything on my excursion
Thanks for making this video!
Nice! Great fix, I needed this for a while!
You're my hero. Lol
Any idea what the valve hose part number is? Mine had a small crack
Thank you for introducing me to the check valve. Without knowing about the internal drain hose’s check valve, I would’ve been lost. I had assumed the plastic plumbing on the side would handle the water spill back. Unfortunately, I couldn’t clean the hose, and the check valve was worn out. Moreover, I had trouble finding a replacement hose. In the end, I improvised by using a shark bite check valve, PEX, and the rubber ends from the old hose. It worked perfectly and was much more cost-effective than buying a new hose or dishwasher. Once again, thank you for the helpful video!
How would you connect the rubber ends of the old hose to PEX?
@@chrisbrose1769 hose clamps
How is that big white plastic piece attached? I’ve loosened the hoses but this thing isn’t budging.
4:20 in the video I explain it.
Ok thank you! I got ahead of myself and didn’t watch that far. Luckily I didn’t have to. Fixed it just by sucking the hoses out. I appreciate your help. The video was very helpful!
You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar! Thanks for the awesome video!
Do you have a part number?
You’re a lifesaver. Thank you.
Great job!!!!
Great video!😃 On my dishwasher, I think water was leaking past the big rubber O-Ring that seals the connection of the neck of the big, flat, white plastic tray on the side of the dishwasher and the plastic "drain" cover on the inside left wall of the dishwasher. I put clear silicon LOCTITE waterproof sealant on the O-Ring, pressed the neck of the big, white plastic tray into the circular hole on the side of the dishwasher and through to the other side, then put LOCTITE around the neck of the white tray. I then screwed on the plastic "drain" cover and spread more LOCTITE around it to make the best seal possible. I don't know if this will work, but it's the only other possible source of a water leak that I could find. Thanks again!😄
You rock man. Thank you
I have the same exact dishwasher I took out the exact same part you showed but there is no valve the tube is wide-open
Yea thanks a ton for the video man!! I'm literally having the exact same problem myself. Def about to try this myself
Thank you Robert! My family has had this same dishwasher for years and it has been horrible! It has NEVER fully drained and ends up with a disgusting smell. My parents brought different plumbers and one even came 2 or 3 times and never fixed it yet always billing hundreds of dollars for wasting our time and his 👀. Thank goodness for this video and RUclips.
My pleasure. Glad I could help
Thanks for the help nigga I appreciate it
Thank you
We couldn’t get anyone to repair our Samsung DW80K7050 after it stopped draining and decided to try to fix it ourselves. This video is a Godsend! I’ve been noticing standing water in the drain after cleaning the filter-for YEARS! I didn’t think it should be there but what do I know? We’re going to follow these instructions tomorrow and will let you know if we’re successful.
How did it go? Same exact problem since we have owned this Samsung dishwasher for years also. We're going to try it tonight.
This help me out! I didnt know about the hose having a valve. I replaced the hose and installed it the wrong way.
Mine doesn’t even start the drain pump when I start the machine
Just wanted to let you know that I have the same refrigerator and cleaned the coils, but this did not fix the problem. The problem was the air baffle control in the back of the refrigerator behind the top shelf. The hinge on the flap that opens and closes based on it's temperature sensor had broken and the flap was always open. That was replaced and solved the problem. I was told by the repair person that cleaning the coils once a year is a good idea.
Do you know if they accessed that air baffle control from inside the fridge or from the back?
Thank you this is very simple and practical I've been looking for exactly something like this!
Can someone please provide the size/dimensions of this particular dishwasher? Please
What is the hose called
Mommy thanks you my friend
GREAT HELP!!! This was my exact issue!!…. Appliance only 2 years old…No build up, Nothing blocking it, but using the wooden skewer I somehow brought that valve to full function/closing..💪🏼🥳. I owe you💰
Be careful as my drain hose with the flapper valve was not flexible and snapped. Forgot I had a wifi endoscope I could have used. The valve was gummed up and didn't operate well. I ended up having to replace both the drain hose with valve and drain pump because that is where my leak was. I thought I had the correct drain hose but this one is approximately two inches longer but identical PN DD81-01502A. I was able to make it fit without too much of a bind in the hose.
Thanks! Had a mouse chew through this hose today! I'll be trying this part for my washer
Do you happen to have part number for this hose? I've looked everywhere can't find it.
I think what Mr. Larkin is trying to say to us gentlemen... is to make sure YOUR WIFE PRERINSES THE DAMN DISHES BEFORE SHE PUTS THEM IN!!. Thank you sir, my dishwasher has been sitting for a while (same model). I'm going to go ahead and get to it
Thanks a bunch! This was my problem!!!!! Saved me a fortune in repair costs!👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Update my problem is solve it was not a pump or hose, it was where the hose connect to the SINK connector, it was block. I took a small screwdriver and push it in that inlet and its solve my issue. Thanks to this video it help me a lot.
Update, I just replace the Pump and it sound better, well a lot more suction when draining.
Also, is your dishwasher still working okay?
Yep
Great video. Just got hit with this issue on our Samsung so will try your inspection steps over the weekend and report back. Cheers and glad you got it working again!
Great advice! Worked perfectly. I only wish I had read the comment about removing the latch torque bolts and unplugging it from there, because unless you have really small hands you're likely to get bloody otherwise.
I just did the step in the video, First cycle ran successfully.
I THINK I FOUND MY PROBLEM. THE HOSE I TOOK OFF WOULD NOT SEAL BACK SO UHAD TO USE THE SCREW STYLE CLAMP. I ALSO WENT AND CHECKED THE SCREWS HOLDING THE "PUMP" TO THE FLOOR OF THE UNIT. FOUND THESE SCREWS WERE LOOSE. I JUST HOPE THE SEAL IS STILL GOOD. AT A COST IF $188 FOR AN O-RING I SURE HOPE SO. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HINTS AND TIPS. WHAT A PAIN IN THE TAIL. BUT A WHOLELOT CHEAPER THEN A NEW DISHWASHER.
THIS MAKES TOTAL SENCE. OUR DW IS PLUMBED IN THE DISPOSAL AND IT WAS CLOGED YOU. I CLEANED IT OUT AND THEN LC CODE STARTED SHOWING UP. IM GOING TO LOOK AT IT IN THE AM SINCE I FOUND THIS DIY, GENIUS IDEA TOO LATE IN THE EVENING. THANKS FOR SHOWING IT. MINE CAN PUMP IT OUT BUT IT WILL FILL THE CATCH BASKET BACK UP WHICH LIKE I SAID MAKES TOTAL SENCE. THANK YOU.
Did this work out for you?
@@LandsharkLark I have the same model as was in the video. No one could verify that there was a check valve in the hose. I had ran a very long zip tie though it but it cane out both ends. I went and baught a borascope and looked for myself and found a straight shot. No check valve. I re installed the hose and it would not re- seal so I put a new screw clamp on it. I watched another video and that guy said his screws had loosened up on his drain pump. So I gave then a nice little twist with a Philips head screw driver and no leaks yet. It has been a week now and no code for water leaks.
I replaced the part and nope. Had to replace the drain pump.
You are the hero we dont deserve, but need informative great camera work and short and to the point
Mine is missing flapper. Can't find a replacement hose anywhere.
This was exactly my issue and I NEVER would have figured this out. I found another video how to take off bottom of dishwasher. That way I could easily access the hose. THANK YOU!
Thanks for the heads up on my POS washer. My tube was pretty much clogged and the check valve was disintegrated somehow. Gonna put it back together without the check valve so I can do some dishes while I order a new one. Again thanks for narrowing it down for me
No problem. But it will overflow from backwash without the check valve
@@LandsharkLark I only get a little bit of water back in it now. Not perfect but it’ll get me through the next four days till the new one gets here. It’s about a half a gallon of clean water in it now as opposed to being filled to the brim with soupy food water
@@Kevin_Casey I can't find the part anywhere.
Thanks for the video. Worked out. I didn't have to take off the piece inside. All I did was unscrew the screws that held the dishwasher in place, slide it out and lay it on it's side, pull off the left side metal plate, popped off the bottom panel and dried it off, took off the sensor and made sure that was dry as well, put the sensor back on, unhooked the squeeze clamps on both ends of the drain hose, ran water through the hose so it flushed the back flow preventer, blew back through the hose to make sure the air couldn't get through, put it all back together and that when the magic worked.
I have this same dishwasher and I hate it. I'm going to give this a shot, hopefully it works, will update of it does. Fingers crossed 🤞
Good luck
