ELO's heyday came during my high-school years. I remember buying the Discovery (disco very) album in '79 and discovering this song. I always looked forward to new ELO music.

As a non-native English speaker growing up, I always wondered what this chorus line meant: "While he just stood there mumblin', a-fumblin'" It really took several years for someone to explain it to me. Since then, "mumblin', a-fumblin'" has been one of my favourite English expressions and I use it even when it makes no sense at all. Before I forget, a fun fact from this song. Why is it missing the Saturday from the list of days of the week at the end and in this song? "... Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday ...." Jeff Lynne was once asked about this. His answer was quite simple: "Saturday? Saturday is Premier League!" With this short and concise statement, he left the interviewer at the time absolutely completely speechless. A hearty "Servus" from Jeff's not so secret favourite city here in Bavaria.

So innovative yet simple but complex so uplifting and fun what a band ELO were. Legendary can only describe them. I don’t see bands with such unique imaginations around today with so many classic anthems. Well it was Jeff Lynne certainly an unusual talent that only comes around once in a lifetime.

I love this song and your video made it even more enjoyable. Watching it the second time I noticed I had missed the first few seconds (where he falls asleep) the first time. I think the story works even better when it comes as a surprise that it's a dream (as it did to me). I suggest you skip the introduction and go straight to the B&W story. Anyway this is so good I wish ELO would make it the official video of their best song.
