If she didn't have to tour in 1998, I believe she could've saved her voice and kept it at least somewhat in the daydream realm when you listen to the first night in Tokyo, the D5 is literally the same. She was just probably having vocal issues and had she been able to rest her voice or whatever she had to do but the sad part is she probably never had any opportunity to stop even speaking we are speaking is worse for you than singing. It's terrible what happened but she's still incredible so doesn't matter.
