Nice projects. I will not visit Hobby Lobby and will drive miles to avoid. Regarding dmc, their floss is my go to. I have a few over-dyes and one silk. I like aida best, different counts.

Hi there, Congratulations on getting into the RN program. That’s awesome. 👍 I recently gave up on a couple projects I truly wasn’t enjoying.. it felt very freeing and I have no regrets!

Enjoy hearing about your family and seeing the projects you are working on. My granddaughter has 3 boys and is going to school and has no time for crafts so I get that it's hard to get your projects done. Just keep them close by and put in a stitch or two and you'll be surprised how much gets done.

Same with books, what kind of books do u like to read ? ..soooo glad ur back !,❤❤❤...I'm working on a peacock right now 😁

I love your flosstube! We like very similar designs… I am also working on a tiny modernist and stitchrovia design. I also have 4 kids so love seeing other middle aged moms stitching. It definitely helps my mental health!

Nice to meet you! I am a cross stitcher, I also crochet, knit, quilt and a few other things that I try. Your stitching is beautiful. The crochet is great! I wanted to make that study in texture too. I might have to go get some more yarn. Good luck in school. I am a retired nurse. I got my associate degree first. When we lived in Florida I went back to school and I got my BSN at USF. You can do this!!!

Watch Jean Farish. She did several videos on how to wash fabric. I think she used Orvis(?) soap.

I liked how you dyed the grayish fabric with the blue. It remind me of a partly cloudy day. Perhaps you could do a coastal pattern or a ship at sea pattern. Thanks for sharing

Rosewood Manor has a beautiful peacock stitch: O Feathers.

I stitch in hand but I know people wrap fabric around their hoop to avoid that indentation. Not sure it irons out. And, make sure you take the project out of the hoop every few hours.

Watch Mama Loves You GB. She did a dying fabric video at least a year ago. She’s a science teacher and knows her stuff.

My mother’s first crochet project was a blanket that she made for me. She thought it was terrible but it’s my most cherished possession. The colors are also very funky. It’s probably close to 45 years old. She made me 5 blankets after that but that first one is my favorite. Please save that blanket for your son. He will cherish it also. My mother is gone but every time I use it I feel every stitch she made.

Welcome to Flosstube. Rit dye happens to have a huge recipe library of colors you can try to recreate. Also, aida dyes differently than linen. My next adventure will be ice dying with Rit powder.
