Solitary Bear

Beard; strong and fluffy. Bike; offroad capable. Book; anything that resonates.
Other than that, UK National Parks and AONB travel, with camping and a little Trans European Trail mixed in.
"When do you begin to exist? Some say that you are being born, and you die, for longer than you’re alive, in essence, you’re only alive for a moment. But what is a moment?"
"If the x axis on a graph denotes time, from the very beginning up until the present day, from left to right respectively, an ink dot left from a pen on that timeline would be equal to approximately 100 million years. So where does your life lie within that dot? Would it even be considered a moment? Just an atom in the ink. A microscopic incomprehensible smudge.
When the powers that be, believe they’re making a difference, when the policies they fabricate for the betterment of society are drafted, when they stand at the lectern with flat palms and swinging jaws, they are but invisible smudges in the ink, and so are you!"

Motorbike Cinematic Short Film - Embrace the Absurd
In a world where we often scream at the TV over a football loss but turn a blind eye to the government wasting our hard-earned money, it’s time to embrace rebellion. We hustle in jobs we hate, buying things we don’t need, chasing memories through endless selfies, while our kids find solace in screens. Yet, in this absurd reality, there lies a powerful act of defiance: riding a motorbike.
Join me as I explore how motorcycling isn’t just about breaking free from traffic and routine; it’s about reclaiming our sense of purpose amidst life’s chaos. The roar of the engine, the rush of the wind, and the thrill of the open road empower us to confront the void with exhilaration rather than despair....

Hello! May I include this video in my upcoming plans? Thanks for letting me know!
@@UNIVERSEBIKE of course buddy. Just stick me a subscribe and use away. I have another crash vid on the NC500 series 👍
Awesome way to tell the truth! That's beauty!
@@whatwesee1592 appreciate it brother 👍
Nice video mate. I live just at the Erskine bridge so those lochs are in my playground.
@@haggiswhisperer you're a lucky man. I'd like there in a heartbeat. Just got to convince the wife 🤣👌
Nice one Mr Bear, you're truly embracing Scotland. I'm just back from a six day tour of Ireland, did some of thre Wild Atlantic Way, Donegal was beautiful. Came back to the Highlands with some Autumn colours starting and thought wow, what an amazing place to live. Haste ye back Mr Bear.😊
@@Omshter66 awesome brother. Love to hear it. I'm at a wedding in Donegal in 3 weeks, guess what, I'm bringing the bike 😉 The Atlantic Dive is on the list, as well as Downings and all the beaches. Welcome back 👌👍
@SolitaryBear If you're near Carrick, go to a bar called The Rusty Mackerel, good food and craic. There's a campsite five minutes walk from the pub.
@@Omshter66 legend, cheers for the recommendation 👍 I'll get it in my next vid 😉
Flamingo land keeps trying to build a new holiday park @ Loch Lomond but Scot’s fought them off . We don’t want ugly holiday parks ruining our beautiful landscapes. Great video loved the scenery guys lol
@@Parker_Douglas rightly so. I'd fight that tooth and nail too. Scotland is too gorgeous to stick something as revolting as a theme park in Loch Lomond! Cheers
Your mate who’s wife just had a baby I bought a pair of cloth panniers from him a few years ago they were black frank Thomas ones he’s a canny lad And well done doing the NC500 lads 👍🏻👌🏻
He's not bad. Although, he sold his bike so I hate him a little bit at the moment, obviously until he gets a new one 😂 Appreciate it mate.
How are you? May I feature this one for my upcoming video edit? I'll fully credit you of course. Thanks in advance!

I loved the auld yins take on “Campervans “ lol

I love watch bikers travel around Scotland . 🏴 x
My recommendations for the top of Scotland are Celidh Place in Ullapool for fabulous lunch The road to Reiff. Stunning. Helmsdale. Really pretty village The back road to Lochinver. Stunning A939/A940 from Grantown to Forres
@@BibTheBoulderTheOriginalOne I'll add it to our list for next time buddy. Cheers
Under leaden skies. These videos deserve watches, likes & subscribers.
Fantastic views, despite the cold. Treated the weather with the contempt it deserves. Less a crash than a sliding tackle. Geordie accent is perfect. Treat watching this.
@@branthurley2285 appreciate buddy
That was a riding error mate
@@Lakesman5308 agreed. A pretty pathetic one at that 🤣
@@SolitaryBear 😂. I never go into the ruts the cars can lol . The 500 has some fantastic roads love it up there especially above Ulapool had some good cracks with bikers other month
@@Lakesman5308 You're spot on, the west coast, north of Ullapool is incredible, I could driver backwards and forwards on those roads all day long 💪
@@SolitaryBear I did 😂
Did that stuff in my teens/early twenties on a Trident. You look better organised, funded & equipped. At 66y/o, I really enjoyed that from the comfort of my keyboard
@@branthurley2285 appreciate it buddy. It's an epic road. Ever thought about getting another Trident and reliving it?
Don't do Wales, the speed limit is only 20mph not 93!
@@weebolddavy 93? My clock is set to Kmph 😬
Average speed cameras are coming to this route due to people speeding, crashes etc. Was hearing about it on the news today.
@@captainwin6333 I can't imagine trying to, or even wanting to speed on a road like that. We just took our time and enjoyed it. If you speed on there and get it wrong... Goodnight and God bless 👋
It’s a cash grab just like the tourists tax it’s because they are a 💩 government who are incompetent so tax the hell out us to pay for their mistakes.
John O Groats and Lands End are the furthest places apart on mainland Britain... hence the connection.
Should have went to the Hermits Castle when at Achmelvich beach
@@scottimrie good shout Scott. Just looked it up there. It's now on my ever going list for next time 👍
If you think it's fun on a bike it's even more interesting in a truck or in a helicopter! Mind you, getting trucks over there was a bit of a struggle years ago before the dug out more rock at the bottom hairpin.
@@jimf671 Jesus that is good going in a truck. Fair play mate. And helicopter, you've got to explain that part? 👍
@@SolitaryBear The Bond pilots on the BUTEC contract had a party trick for VIP visitors that I witnessed a couple of times. They would fly at 50 feet across the top and when they shot over the edge above the hairpins at 140 knots the visual impact as the corrie opened out was phenomenal! I had an Admiral's wife sitting next to me on one of those occasions and was as surprised by her grabbing my thigh as she was by the terrain! 🤣🤣🤣
@@jimf671 what an amazing memory, that's fantastic mate 👍
Nice, I bet you felt a million dollars after the swim. I hope the dram was a scotch?
@@Omshter66 nothing better than a cold water swim to clear the mind. Yeah, it was a Laphroaig 10, scotch is the only way to drink whiskey 💪
@SolitaryBear That's my part of the world, Mr Bear. Have you been up to the Highlands of Scotland on your bike yet?
@@Omshter66 certainly have brother. Check out my NC500 tour videos. I'd live there if I could 👍
Good video mate, glad you and bike ok - did same thing in Oban in June at 0mph right outside the digs after a good day's ride. Look forward to more vids
Appreciate it, mate. It wasn't the first, and it certainly won't be the last 🙂
@@SolitaryBear know that feeling 😉👍
Thanks buddy for letting us use it :)
Well done so far 👍I did the nc500 last year was very lucky had no rain all week, only problem was those dam camper vans on the single track roads.
@@nigelgreen7657 Agreed Nigel, they do massively slow down the flow of traffic on single tracks. We had a car with us too so couldn't exactly take off, stupid four wheels 🤣
Simple drop so easily done and I suppose when you look back there was no need for you to even pull in!!plenty of room but nonetheless bet you if the vans weren't there looking at you you would have ridden it out of the rut.Hope bike is not damaged.
Nice filming 👍.... You did well getting that bike up on your own 💪💪...farmer seemed a good guy
He was a really nice guy, quite literally coming to check on me 👍 Yeah the Tenere is light on the move, but laden with kit in a river, not so much 😂
Hello! Would it be okay to use it in compilations and maybe on some of ours Social Networks? You will get full credit for it. Thanks
More than happy to brother.
Check out my other video where I drop my Tenere in a river, use that too if you like 🙂
@@SolitaryBear Thanks a lot :)
That's pretty much what was going through my brain throughout, nononoNo 😂
It said "crash" right in the title, but I still said aloud, "NononoNO! The edge of the pavem...dangit " while watching it. Knew it was coming, saw it coming, still tried to coach him to keep it from happening. And honestly, it wasn't a crash. He just laid it down,
we set off in 2 days should be fun
@@RedStag-r5m you'll love every minute of it. I'll keep all my digits crossed for the weather for you 🤞
Well done guys, we've done it three times now and it's brilliant every time, not as brave as yourselves 💪 we stayed in hotels last time we done it someone suggested doing it anti clockwise which makes sense for the scenery, looking forward to your next episode, what a very understanding sister you've got 🎉
We thought exactly the same after finishing, anti clockwise might totally change the trip which would be brilliant. We'd like to try adding in Mull and Islay too. Scotland is just fantastic 👍
What is the problem with it
Because it was so close to a big body of water and marshland, we were eaten alive by the midges. We literally couldn't stay outside for more than a few minutes. It ended up as a very unsociable evening, talking to each other through our tents 🙂
Whats with the tank ??
It might be an MOD live firing range...🤫
@@SolitaryBear ahh lol
Excellent lads, you're in my back yard there and embraced the Scottish Highlands, awesome 😊
Well I must say, you have one of the most picturesque back yards I've ever seen 👍
