Abu Garcia Superior - The Best Budget Fishing Reel For 2023
Don’t tow in high range you will lose your clutch.
Wicked stuff brenz 👌nothing better then a mulloway in the surf Also those tarwine are underrated on the plate
It certainly is nice to put any mulloway on the sand. Tarwhine from the surf are brilliant eating. I agree
is november an alright time to go to this spot ?
Sure is. This spot generally fishes well year round
Do you have to buy a battery to keep it running after the cars off or can they run off a solour panel
I do have a seperate battery pack I run it off from time to time
Good idea. Make different depths for different weights
Exactly. It’s a very versatile method
My man! You helped me ages ago with how to rig and launch breakaway sinkers. Now this , thanks mate 😄
Your welcome. Glad to help
how do you find the quinny 4.2 with 30hp pushing through the rough stuff. I have a v nose punt boat with a 15hp and i have only taken it offshore on glass days and their is something fun an entertaining about cathing pelagics on a small boat. In the not so distance future i wanna upgrade to a bigger tiller tinny something in the 4.2 - 4.8 mark
@@undyneuwu2541 no dramas at all. It’s not a fast boat at 22 knots but it goes very well. If heavily loaded a 40 would be a better fit
SO MANY BETTER OPTIONS FOR RIVER FISHING, DONT TAKE THESE INSHORE
@@brook280 personal opinion there mate, but glad you took the time to comment. Thankyou very much
yeah my lid has wrapped it doesnt seal that well anymore
I think a lot more could be done to help improve this
How you put the bait on ?
Just like normal. Reach out on instagram if you would like more info
Is this sea worthy, or mostly used around closer to shore?
It’s more of an inshore boat however we have done a few videos fishing offshore in it
Great Video, you mention in part the 12 foot Apex and 40 were your light gear, what setup would you use for the big stuff?
@@craigwheaton2506 I would still use the 40 but for the rod I use either a Poseidon bantam 5 or a century tornado tip pro
@@On-PointAdventures the 40 is a Fathom with centrifugal braking ?
@@craigwheaton2506 yes. shimano torium 30's, daiwa saltist 50's, and fin nor lethal 30's are some other castable reels that are good for sliding.
On ya Timmy
It's a tufty 😂😂
I purchase a couple of these fridges i had to take one back because it stop working the guy was very polite over the matter i thought i would go for some a bit lager and I did i took this lager one home and put it on for the night i checked it in the morning and the fridge was showing 18 and 19 degrees this was not the case because it was very worm in side the fridge if you purchase a product you think it's going to do what it is supposed to do would you think not
Yeah I think the product is very hit and miss
How did you connect the quick release plate to the poly?
You beauty , that will do it
Mate looks awesome, good jewie too btw🤙🤙🤙
It certainly was a healthy fish
New sub here great video.😊
Thanks for subbing! Great to have you onboard
Thanks for the video. I have seen the slide rigs with and without the small sinker. What are the pros and cons for either style? I am a cheap loser and want to try to make my own. Nige from Sydney
@@Depressed.-lonely.-fisherman the sinkers on the slide just help it defend a lot faster. For dead baits in any sort of current I think they are better. If making your own there is no reason you couldn’t just squeeze some lead on
Do you eat them at that size or do they taste funny?
I release a lot of my mulloway if possible but at this size I think they are the best eating
Definitely will have to give this one a go cheers
Definately should, Cameron definately was onto it with this idea
Sick fish 🎉
It was a very welcomed fish
Nice catch! One thing on my bucket list is to "go on holiday" in Australia from the States and do some surf fishing.
You should! You would have a blast
@@On-PointAdventures You know what's funny. I have two Alvey rods and reels. No one else that I know has one. Always a topic of conversation when folks see me turn the reel 90 degrees. "Hey, what is that?"
@@TelemarketerTroll and then you launch the cast, jaws drop at the distance you just launched the bait
Wow nice fish bro
Thanks mate. Appreciate the comment
Did you shoot this yesterday?
@@grantsmith505 I was out and about yesterday yes
Late to the party but just picked up a couple of Alvey and Gary Howard rods. When reeling back in I assume i'm meant to use my finger to lay the line wevenly across the spool?
@@Ab0minati0n yes. A guide with your finger helps a lot. You will love the new combos
Hey mate Im looking to get a tuffy to fish with my son. Will be a split 60/40 - 60% solo and 40% with him. What do you think would be more stable and feel safer, the Tuffy or this?
The tuffy is more stable however it is far more limited being 1.2m shorter. If you wanted the best of both worlds a polycraft 410 challenger would be the go
I’m 4 trips, 0 fish due to weed and wind. Soon it will be time to shine
It should clear up soon
With a boat of this colour an Aussie bloke would need all the speed he can get to avoid the rocks his mates throw at him.
😂😂😂
Great video guys! My 12' aluminum V hull has a 9.9 and with just me does 30kph wide open. That's fast enough for this 64 year old. Thanks for the real world comparison. Was a real treat to watch. Alberta Canada. 👏🇨🇦
Cheers for the comment mate. Always love hearing how other people are boating their way. Have a great day mate
mate you aught a stop going to the fridge ya fucken look like one . WAKE UP there is some brutal honesty for ya
Came here while reading Heritical Fishing 😅
It's not a superior, it's a different model, please show the model in the box or the spool..
@@arnelatienza8492 it most certainly is a superior, given I own 6 of them I’m fairly confident of the name. They a no longer produced however and where an anaconda Australia exclusive
@@On-PointAdventures Sorry mate, i think it's the australian version you got there, I have a superior with black gold color and many holes in the spool.. I want to show it to you for comparison however there is no option to upload photos here in yt.
CID GT and Ice Cream are part of the assassin rod group. A company here in South Africa. We get a good range of sizes and weights. If you haven't tried the GT Ice Cream plugs yet you should get some
Absolutely mate. Been using gt ice cream and richter plugs for many years now
Fabulous video. Excellent testing procedure. I like the testing with different loads. Very real world conditions. That 15 did very well. Then you put on the 9.9 and that impressed also. Except when you both were on. I wonder if the tuffy can handle a 25. Great work guys.
The tuffy could easily handle a 25, however, we had to stay in the parameters of the compliance plate.
Do you hold a currant drone license?
@@denyswoodroffe490 not me, but the operator did
If Australia’s were a little tidier, we could still be using real straws. Kiwi
Great hack. I take a toilet paper roll, fill it with dryer lint and then fill the roll with bees wax. Burns great!
Will have to try it
Were is this place bro. Luvbyr video pls
North of Perth mate. A lot of good beaches up this way
I want my two minutes back
@@kenhart5259 sorry, no can do, but thanks for the comment.
I collect sawdust from my table saw, mix it with melted wax, and make finger thick sticks about 6" long. really good fire starters
That’s an awesome idea. Will have to give this a go
@@On-PointAdventures - if you don't have a table saw, you can grab a few handfuls at your local lowes or home depot. they have the big table saw in the lumber section.
So many get the outboard height wrong. For instance Tohatsu are 20.7 inch legs,, not 20 inch, so if you just dump it on the transom you are already at least 3/4 inch below keel line.
@@bobbuilder5362 exactly
Great video mate now I see why it's doesn't work with braid line
Super stoked it helped mate
You use a dacron loop what is it exactly or could you use a rudder band
@@johnclisby8451 a rubber band could also work well. With the Dacron loop tho I know that it is not breaking.
I've actually got rid rid of all of my braid off my reels and replaced with good old fashioned mono and I couldnt be happer.
Mono in some situations is such a pleasure to use.
Cheers for the video! What I was looking for, from a kiwi bloke across the ditch :) You just gained a new sub shagger!
@@KiwiChillies cheers for the sub, but most importantly awesome to have you onboard
Brendo, I always carry a slide baiting set up with me (I have a reel with 2 spools 1 mono, and 1 braid) but barely use it for the cons you mentioned. If the wind is in my face then it's generally blowing weed in. One thing I am going to try is floatation on the slide rig, basically set up a dingle dangle rig for the slide bait and tie that bait on and have it float when deployed. Last point slide baiting is probably the best way to live bait from shore not trying to cast 15 ounces of bait and sinker.
@@toddmillar4041 problem with a float system it that it will prevent it from progressing deeper towards the solid ring. Unfortunately the ol floating dangle will stop you quicker than weed
@@On-PointAdventures thanks for the heads up
@@toddmillar4041 your welcome. Thankyou for taking the time to comment mate. Hope to catch you on the beach one day
Great video mate! Should have watched this before my last attempt. Standing on the top of a dune watching a whole herring stuck halfway down the line a metre out of the water tring to slide down braided line 😂
@@DangasTackleTips haha that would have been frustrating as heck. We need to catch up soon mate
Nice bro
@@craigwheaton2506 cheers for watching mate
Awesome! New sub from Cape Town, South Africa💪🏼🎣🎣
Hey mate. Great to have you onboard.
