This is a long video of Jake Pyne and Tim Plews from Locab meeting up in New Caledonia with a friend that they met on the internet.
Not knowing what to expect when they arrive, they strike it lucky with a legend of a man Martin Croibier organising a trip of a life time.
Martin organised camping on remote parts of New Cal, that only locals have access too. He also organised an amazing day's fishing on the boat with another legend, Antoine Klein.

LB is a 9 year old fishing machine. October 2021 was cooking on top out at mayor island so we decided to try and get LB into some top wateries. Little did we know, he was gonna out fish the rest of us. 4 dudes, one boat. whales, bust offs, bust ups, and choke crackups.

Our good mate shinji Dogga came out for his first trip to Mayor island over the weekend. Luck was on his side, and he got his first yellow tail kingfish, and to make it even sweater, it was on top water. It was a fat fish, and he chose to release it to fight another day with a tag in its back.

My grandfather use to talk about catching YFT back in his day.. he said they were all over the north island. When ever you saw dolphins you could guarantee the YFT were with them. The reason for their disappearance was they were being caught by trawlers in other country’s before they could make their migratory runs to NZ.. I forget which country’s though !! I’m guessing between japan and Papua New Guinea
