FLL Submerged Ri30H: Mission 9 Unexpected Encounter with Delivery
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.2 месяца назад
In this mission, we show an idea for releasing the unexpected encounter and letting it slide right into base (well, almost. You can do better, without grabbing beyond home base!). We then deliver it to the Cold Seep for 10 more points, a total of 30…if we had done it without a penalty :-) See all of our missions and code on our web page: www.team4924.org/Outreach/fll-submerged-2024-25
FLL Submerged Ri30H: Mission 7 Kraken’s Treasure
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.2 месяца назад
We show a few approaches that we tried to retrieve the Kraken’s Treasure. We spent quite a bit of time and were not pleased with the success rate of any of our attempts, so we’re publishing our thoughts. For coaches, be warned that this is a very appealing mission for young students, but can consume a tremendous amount of time. Call it the Kraken’s curse! Or maybe you’ve got the solution we are...
FLL Submerged Ri30H: Mission 15 Loading the Research Vessel
Просмотров 1 тыс.2 месяца назад
We modified the attachment we used for feeding the whale to load the research vessel, no motorized components needed! Since we were able to retrieve the water sample and the sea bed sample and return them to red home, we loaded both of these into the vessel. Load up and line up by eye and angle it a little inwards to score some points! See our programs at www.team4924.org/Outreach/fll-submerged...
FLL Submerged Ri30H: Mission 3 Coral Reef Delivery
Просмотров 8362 месяца назад
Previously, we swept all the coral off the field for easier maneuverability. To get easy points back, we show a VERY simple program to move the coral back out of the red home base to score 5 points per object. See this code and all our missions at www.Team4924.org/Outreach/fll-submerged-2024-25
FLL Submerged Ri30H: Mission 12 Feed the Whale
Просмотров 4,4 тыс.2 месяца назад
For this mission, Jason explains how assembling all the krill into a “super krill” ensures that all krill transport and land in the whale’s mouth. Recall from the rules: if it doesn’t say you can’t do something, then you can do it!
FLL Submerged Ri30H: Mission 14 Seabed Sample
Просмотров 6442 месяца назад
Mission 14 has 4 possible samples to retrieve. This one is the Seabed sample, and involves a little bit of tricky navigation. You’ll see that our approach is a wide fork, allowing for some positioning error. See this program and all of our missions at www.team4924.org/Outreach/fll-submerged-2024-25
FLL Submerged Ri30H: Mission 3 Coral Reef flip
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.2 месяца назад
This one is a little far from home base and requires a lot of careful navigation. We come at it from the side to have an easier time flipping it with a short arm. For this mission we strongly recommend clearing all of the krill, coral, and the sample out of the way before attempting it. See our programs at www.team4924.org/outreach/fll-submerged-2024-25
FLL Submerged Ri30H: Mission 8 Artificial Habitat
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 месяца назад
By using a strong, slow arm, you can flip the habitat tower up for 30 out of the 40 possible points for this mission! We start this mission in the red base and end in the blue base, so it is a good way to pass the robot from one half of the field to the other. See our programs at www.team4924.org/outreach/fll-submerged-2024-25
FLL Submerged Ri30H: Mission 2 Shark delivery
Просмотров 7632 месяца назад
A follow up to the shark releasing! We bring the shark from the red base to the blue base, then the program pauses until we press the center button again. This gives us time to take the shark fin out of the attachment and reposition it towards the ship wreck. See our programs at www.team4924.org/outreach/fll-submerged-2024-25
FLL Submerged Ri30H: Mission 1 Raising the Reef
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 месяца назад
The other part of mission 1! The rules say that teams can position the reef with the loop in any orientation they would like before the match. With our ramp attachment, we ignore the ring and lift the whole reef up, hook it on the pole, and keep it in the hole for more points! See our programs at www.team4924.org/outreach/fll-submerged-2024-25
FLL Submerged Ri30H: Clearing obstacles from the right side of the field
Просмотров 6292 месяца назад
Before doing some of the missions on the right side of the field, we recommend clearing the krill and coral from the field. Remember that if the coral is upright and outside of the home base on the mat, you get 5 points! As a bonus, this mission collects 3 krill if you want to feed the orca! We did not make it fully back to home base on the last run, but we think you all will be able to get the...
FLL Submerged Ri30H: Mission 13 Changing Boat Lane
Просмотров 2,6 тыс.2 месяца назад
Not too far away from base and leaves a little bit of wiggle room for your attachment. We find that a good flick from the side is a great way to complete this! See our programs at www.team4924.org/outreach/fll-submerged-2024-25

Last year there were a lot of specific clarifications on how mission model pieces could be connected. Is the head ref in your area allowing assembly of this many pieces?

Good Idea! We managed it to get to the beige gear at the right. That way you can do the printer mission at the same time. The whole mission takes about 5 secs because you only have to drive straight forward from the home zone. That's a lot faster than this one because you have to drive less. maybe try it this way. It will save a lot of time.

Wow this looks amazing! How is the traction on the omni wheels? Is there a reason why you went with one wheel, instead of doubling them up?

    • @RedBeardPandas
      @RedBeardPandas Год назад

The wheels have been good so far! We have used this X-drive style before in Ultimate Goal (you can see videos of this on our channel!) and had good results then too. A large part of our strategy this season is to drive as little as possible, so we have not been focusing too much on traction. The only time we needed to double-up was on a center wheel for an H-drive during Sky Stone since that was the only wheel responsible for side-to-side movement. We also made that center wheel a 4in diameter wheel whereas the outer ones were 96mm diameter. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out!

May I ask how you program your robot to aim aim at the high goal automatically from anywhere in teleop?

    • @CosmosAblaze
      @CosmosAblaze 3 года назад

I'm not sure how they would do it, but I could explain how I'd do it. First of all, this assumes that you have some kind of localization, such as odometry. So what I'd do is set the centre of the field to (0, 0) and use the coordinate system to create a plane. Then, find the coordinate of the tower goal. After that, you can use the difference in y and difference in x to draw a triangle, with the hypotenuse being the distance of the robot to the high goal. Using that, you can find that the angle would be arctan(y/x), then use a function to set the heading (angle) of the robot to the value that you find.

Thank you! This type of drive-train is called "X-Drive" and we really like it since it allows for reliable holonomic movement and it keeps the center of the robot open for our collection module.

The flat-Earth pseudo-science is debunked on TV every day. I refer to THE WEATHER CHANNEL and its use of the SPHERICAL Earth to predict weather. The flat-liners are totally powerless to do anything about it. In fact, outside of You Tube, they have had no influence whatsoever, except to be laughing stocks. Even on You Tube they are mostly a mutual mental masturbation society. Their compulsive obsession to constantly spam non-flat-Earth high altitude balloon videos, complaining about fish-eye lenses, or not seeing stars, shows how pathetic they really are
