Feathered Knechtions Homestead
США
Добавлен 10 июл 2015
Hi! My name is Kelli and I’m the author of the blog, City Limit Self-Sufficient and the business owner of Feathered Knechtions (pronounced connections). During 2020, we decided not to wait until we got our dream property to get more serious about where our food comes from and learning homesteading skills. So, we started with chickens and coturnix quail and now have expanded to Muscovy ducks, honeybees, gardening and taking online courses on herbal medicine and essential oils. It’s all a work in progress but aren’t we all? Follow along with us as we go from ‘city slickers’ to homesteaders one skill at a time.

So cute, do u have a pattern for this chicken?
@@BABI-ABI it’s just a regular chicken pattern and I used fur yard and gave it fuzzy hair on top like a silkie -that’s all
Good solution. Good luck!
@@sowandtare thanks!
You have to do what you need to do. Sometimes it is hard to please everyone, but you need to do helps you and your family the most. Hatching never gets old. Necessity is the mother of invention. You will rock this Kelli.
@@VeysPlace thanks love!!! I think it’ll work better if we can convince our friend to let us have birds at their place but for now it works
way to ge yourself confued with trans brain rot
Great job looks great
thanks!
Just watched your videos today like ,my son and I raise quite we are in Casper Wyoming neighbor were do you live in Utah and how much do you sell hatching eggs I no not 3.00 lol
I'm in Provo. And I actually don't sell hatching eggs just chicks and adults. if you're looking for hatching eggs my friends over at guidrozfamilyfarm.com are my go-to and where I get all my eggs from.
Awesome video, Feathered Knechtions Homestead. Looking forward to your next upload. I smashed that thumbs up button on your creation. Keep up the fantastic work! Your insights on brooding chicks outside during the winter are really helpful. Have you considered any specific adjustments to the brooder setup based on how the temperature fluctuates in your area?
Well, we will be adding plastic to the shed so there isn't a breeze next to it. I think as far as other changes we will just have to see how this winter is and how the chicks do. The nice thing is I can adjust as needed quickly and always move them back inside if needed. I've noticed brooding in larger groups really has helped because they create group heat as well. I'll definitely post more updates on how the chicks do outdoors and what the threshold temps seem to be.
great video Kelly. thanks for sharing it with us.
Sweet video Kelli. Thanks. Blessings.
Little Giant for the win. Mostly if it is forced air, and not the still air one. Best one IMHO for newbies. Great video Kelli. Blessings.
@@VeysPlace completely forgot to say forced or still air! I always forget they come in still air!
Looks good to me.
What about, LGBTQIABCDEFG quail ???
@@zatanac at my house we identify them all as food so it simplifies a lot ;)
So cool Kelly! Thanks for this. Great seeing you at QC 24😊
@@amyb5339 yayyyyyyyy so great seeing you and everyone! Such a fun weekend!
those are so cute. You can even make some look like quail, just don't put the red parts on. LOL.
I bet you have a ton of cats 😂
@@claudettehyde8669 hahahahaha that’s hysterical! I actually don’t have a ton of cats but I’d love to! 🤣
I think it turned out well. So cute, too!
SHE CUTE
Its cute but maube make his eyes lower?
@@POOPYYAHHAHAHAADNWIND yeah it’s was my first ever and I’m teaching myself to read patterns since I don’t know how. Each one gets better and my kids love them all and have a huge pile they sleep with every night
I wanna try muscovy duck one day
This is so cute! Yay babies!!!
Happy birthday, duckies!
Thanks for sharing
Looks like they had fun
@@sowandtare they definitely did and learned some cool stuff too!
That is so sweet.
Thank you for the advice
What up what up. We will be out ur way 1st week of july. Jus fyi
I just bought 26 ducklings @ $5 each. Have never raised ducks before. Impressed by how steak like that breast looks.
Did you buy Muscovy ducklings ? They really do taste like steak
It does help. Many content creators try to be so technical and it seems hard to differentiate what each type is called. Thanks for just breaking it down in “layman’s “ terms. I appreciate your effort.
@@AFloodofSolaceJohnWhigham you’re welcome! I figure there’s plenty of channels that complicate it that I might as well explain it how I understand it and how a lot of people would probably easily understand it too

Thanks!! I have 2 quail out of 8 that are normal brown colour. 1 tuxedo. The rest are gray or white! So this was helpful!
Awesome! Congratulations!
Ever have it leak out the bottom during lock down?
Water? Yes I have had that happen before so I just keep a towel under it just in case
Yay. Way to go. I have been wanting to Lear. To make sourdough. I was so excited when I made sandwich bread for the first time a few weeks ago. It was so good.
Congratulations!
Hi! Success! Congrats! Bet it tastes yummy!
