Ralph Nader: "Does the President Matter?"
Too bad the audio is so bad.
If only trumpees could understand and appreciate Gavin’s closing monologue.
Newman's best movie. The Academy gave him the Oscar for Color of Money to make up for not giving it to him for The Verdict.
Agree.
This was the performance for which Paul Newman should have won an academy award!
It was the water that took him down, not the alcohol.
In the gallery 2nd row 2nd from right Bruce Willis I do believe
Love it when Jack Warden gives Paul that 👌 on his arm.
LEGEND!
Bruce Willis is in the background
Remember watching this film with its green tinge. Classic. Now have it on my phone.
You can see Tobin Bell and Bruce Willis in this scene
I watched this movie so many times. My brother was a lawyer and doing well but drink 🥤 took him down. I spent a few minutes with him in his beautiful sail boat on the Texas Coast, he passed a few days later because he drowned in the ocean with a very high blood alcohol content!
Heartbreaking story. Thanx for sharing.
Compare this speech to actual footage from Court TV etc. ? This is a writer really milking a scene . It's shameless manipulation really. I suspect Mamet is probably embarrassed when he watches it today.? And the speech wasn't really needed. . We had understood by this point....
What an incredible actor he was. Truly.
Paul Newman's good looks never faded away even until the end of his life ❤😊 Blessed and Best Actor ❤❤❤❤❤❤ RIP ❤ 🙏
The scene that got me was the star witness shouting and crying as she just wanted to be a nurse and that was ripped from her. "WHO ARE THESE MEN???!"
Lindsay Crouse was indeed brilliant as the attending nurse. Every time I come to that scene I get all choked up.
Bruce Willis Best Supporting Actor ⚖️
Bruce Willis observing
What a performance by a very talented and underrated actor.
My father was a lawyer who actually resembled Paul Neuman, blue eyes and all. He and his law partner had a big case against a bank that they called " the Paul Newman case . "
In the BG is retired actor Bruce Willis.
Newman reclaims his brilliance
David Mamet wrote a great script. Thankfully, he had no role in directing his script, for he has a tendency to make the actors perform in a stilted, self-conscious manner.
Bruce Wills in his first movie scene. In the gallery to the right, between the woman and the man with the mustache.
Watching this video reminds me of when I was in court, small claims, criminal and Supreme Court, and the worst part was that I hired a crime defense lawyer, and I fought the case myself and I won the case and the judge really listened to me, as my father wanted me to be a doctor then he wanted me to be a lawyer and maybe I should have taken his suggestion and I think that I would have made it fine lawyer
Well deserved Oscar nominated performance. Its an Acting lesson forever. See Bruce Willis as an extra Second from right in second row.
They went on to be in a movie together. Nobody’s Fool 94
Thats Bruce Willis in the third row. Tobin Bell in front of him. They were probably pretty happy to play "Extras"
Thats Bruce Willis in the second row. Tobin Bell is in the first row. Filmed at Kaufman Astoria in NYC.
This was his best picture.
One of his greatest performances.
So timely
A career of so many great performances...I think this is his best!
Absolutely.
Agreed.
Die Hard and Saw representing in that courtroom
Bruce Willis Nice Suit
❤
From the :30 mark to about 1:45, the dialogue resonates so well with today.
Presidents of any sort in all countries so far don't matter much yet cause we could have Micky mouse Donald duck daffy goofy yogy bear etc as leaders and if they had equal rights decent min wage that gos up with the cost of living cared for plant animal and human non warmongering they could have been better and lead as kind caring loving respectful helpful equal fair just humane moral society so world could be better than ever for most
RIP Paul Newman (January 26, 1925 - September 26, 2008), aged 83 You will always be remembered as a legend.
Welp, this didn't age well...
The mixed theater experimentally wander because brake spontaneously unfasten anenst a parched kick. green grey grieving, hilarious squirrel
whoever made the subtittles for this scene deserves a shot to the knee
I tell all the new nurses to watch this movie & remember what's right.
Dramatically powerful, but utterly unrealistic. Galvin doesn't even mention the facts of the case! Possible ineffective assistance of counsel, guaranteeing reversal. But, of course, that would happen anyway because the judge earlier took over cross-examination of the plaintiff's expert, and even expressed his opinion on the ulitmate issue in the case, i.e., no negligence, right in front of the jury.
Pretty Cool
A man who had lost his soul and now has found it again.
This is the case. He was right because of how you put it.
I’m here after watching Johnny Depp’s team closing argument
It was great to see him vindicated as well.
Not to get political (God forbid), but I fervently hope Merrick Garland watches this again… and again.
what does merrick garland have to do with malpractice? nothing, that's what.
@@plasticweapon hey, plastic - guess you missed the entire point of the film. It’s about justice. You’ve heard of it, right?
@@kengreenberg Yeah Greenberg we have. But again what the hell is there to do with the attorney general. For one thing the Attorney General does not go into court and try cases except in extraordinary rare circumstances. He oversees investigations which is why Jack Smith is there My sister's a federal prosecutor she's been putting away bad guys for a long time if it's one thing she's learned in her twenty-five years is this. You don't rush a f****** case is that clear. You don't take shortcuts because of shortcuts will come back to bite you in the f****** ass. Get it right ot be prepared to watch the guy walk.
Bruce Willis is sitting in the third row from the back, second from the right, during this scene, before the camera tracks to the right. Then, he's in the third position from the right.
TRES Heavy\Cool
why Paul Newman was considered one of the best actors, ever!
