I closed my Facebook profile due to their censure politics. Do you have an alternative to promote my release(s)? My other question is a noob one. Actually we need a distributor to upload our music to every platform (I choose DistroKid and find it OK). Well, what are the steps required to work on the algorithms after the action is completed? 2:47 it’s crazy how often Facebook is changing parameters, pages, sometimes you click on one page and they tell you to go on a new page. Can’t they just delete the obsolete pages ?

So I tried to skip ahead in Hypedit and got stuck trying to figure out why my new pixel was missing for making an ad I should have just waited the watched the whole video first lol, thank you for posting this I haven't used ad manager in 3 or 4 years and forgot a lot of this stuff. Thank you!🙏

Interesting video. So just so I’m clear - is the cost per conversion when someone clicks the ‘listen now’ button on the ad, that’s the conversion cost - not clicking on the Spotify link on the landing page/smartlink? Is that correct? Also, the amount of actual click-throughs on the landing page seems to vary quite wildly from my experience which further dilutes / makes the actual result more expensive if indeed the conversion is the initial click. Thank you!
The conversion in this case is defined when someone clicks one of the buttons on the landing page (Spotify or Apple Music). For a healthy campaign, I typically see at least 50% of conversions become actualy listeners on Spotify.

It's nice to see how thorough you do these experiments and that you use statistical measures like confidence intervalls. Just out of interest, could you check on the confidence intervalls for the follower count? Just by feeling and seeing the different results for the 3 experiments I would say those are off and should be broader
Thanks and yeah I agree. Running the experiment 3 times and getting 3 different results despite what the intervals would suggest definitely shook my confidence in the confidence intervals (no pun intended). Definitely agree they need to be wider after seeing a result like this, and I chose not to highlight them in this study because I don't give them much credence here.

Just curious did you target international audiences? Or just the US/tier 1 countries?
These campaigns targeted a wide mix of counties which I call "global-ish"
Maybe I missed this but did you also create three different fresh pixels so one for each compain? Otherwise I fear the history of the pixel might have some effect on the results.
I used the same pixel for all 3. There is something to be said about "pixel history" for sure, but it's not a significant enough effect that I'm concerned about it skewing the results quite yet.

I love tracking things on good sheets, but do everything manually and it’s a toll lol
We actually do it all manually... which I know is not the best way to do it haha especially for someone who's supposed to be "high tech" like me. I built a custom automation a number of years ago in Python but it was really complicated to use. Maybe it's time to revisit this!

I'm still confused if you had to choose between a sales objective or an engagement objective which would you choose? Obviously both of these are better than a terrible traffic campaign, but just want your opinion on these two.

I use Adobe Premiere Pro for my video editing but any basic video editing software will do what I do just fine. I didn't shoot any of the video content, that was provided by the artist's anagement in this case.

I had a traffic campaign I ran in a cheap market. It was getting SO MANY CLICKS. SOOO MANY. I think after 38,000 clicks I realized that not one had clicked through to spotify.
Your experience checks out (unfortunately). The clicks from a traffic campaign are worth next to nothing in my experience.
Well… going to figure out how to find the right people :) it’s really fun to consider that an entire world of possible fans are out there and reachable now.

I honestly don't hve a good intuition on that one way or another.
if your music does bad with ads, the music is bad. my cpc a year ago was $0.33 targeting US only a song I made more recent is $0.12 targeting US only as the music gets better, the ads get cheaper, but I regret using ads. I no longer run them. Stay wavey.

Nice video Kyle. I've been in the music business since the 90s when all our hopes and dreams were in one song blowing up. Now after yrs of music marketing on the internet I still launch ads with the expectation of failure and thats with 20-30 different ad creatives that get narrowed down to 1-2 winners. On launch day I'll move on to the next song emotionally. And if the currently running campaign does well that's a plus.
This is a very healthy and grounded attitude from a seasoned music industry veteran.
I'm telling you, Meta ads are driving me crazy for my first two campaigns!! But I won't give up!
It took me 5+ tries to figure it out, and even then I' still learning. Just make sure you're looking critically at every campaign you make along the way and never stop learning.
Real talk. Heavy 💯 I'm 20 years in failing, 5 running ads with no success. It's been constant adjustments, but there is a way to win. Great job, man.
Persistence is key. But what's also important is making sure you're taking a critical look each time and learning as much as you can. You got this.
