10142024 to 11122024 Two Licking Branches

This video is of Sitka black-tailed bucks at a couple of licking/marking branches from October 14th through November 11th, 2024. The marking trees are 370 yards (338 m) apart. Though this video is 22 minutes long, this is just a small collection of the activity at these branches. I believe I counted over 10 different bucks from spikes to mature bucks using the branches. The mature 4 x 4 with one eye guard is the dominate buck in the valley. I have seven cameras here and each night he is almost on every camera, some multiple times. The tree in the foreground is a Sitka Black-tailed deer marking tree I have a camera trained on. Five or six wolves gather up in the muskeg behind it while out on an evening hunt on October 10th, 2024 for 10 minutes.

The bears are back.....last year the pond almost dried up and I had no great captures of bear soaking at the "spa". The big boys are up an moving about. First mature Sitka black-tailed deer past a camera this year on October 14th. In the first frame listen to his light grunt/moan as he passes the camera. on 10/21/2024 he was on camera in the early morning hours, he moans again in that clip. This will keep me in the woods.

I'd rather be lucky than good! A trail camera at the right place. I moved a camera this year to get a bit better opportunities, it paying off. Mature Sitka black-tailed buck, a clean 4 x 4 doing the roar-snort-wheeze, just letting a nice 3 x 3 know who is boss at 4:09 am 10/22/2024 morning. Turn up the volume and enjoy.......I have played this over and over!

June 4, 2024. I believe this video shows a black bear hunting for fawns and the doe taking him away from the fawn. It appears that she was sucessful...at least this time. Research has shown that 48-50% of fawns are taken by black bear in their first two weeks of life.
