    I do not see the point of the hose leading to the air intake as it is not a true vacuum. You would lose vacuum pressure and air will be pulled from the air intake. In actuallity you would lose crankcase pressure and no significant oil will be caught.

    • @tracylewisperformance2270
      @tracylewisperformance2270 2 года назад

      That is generated by a Venturi Vacuum Generator. The special chackvalves will always open and close to default to the strongest vacuum source so no pathway to leak vacuum. At just 4k RPM the Vacuum Generator is producing up to 14" of vacuum, and the greater the airflow, the more vacuum is generated. Good question though.

      This is a complete air/oil separating crankcase evacuation system. It has several benefits: Prevents up to 85% of intake valve coking. It provides full time evacuation vacuum suction on the crankcase eliminating pressure building. It flushes and removes much of the damage and wear causing combustion byproducts from the crankcase before it can settle and contaminate the oil reducing wear. It removes much of the raw fuel dilution that all GDI engines suffer from. And gives a slight power increase by removing oil and other suspended substances from the vapors.

    Useless, what the point of this. If your factory pcv fails for any reason, this is still not going to work. the system is left to the mercy of the shity plastic diaprams, and plastic flap, for it to work. It pretty much does what the factory system does, and if the factory system is working, then you dont need this. its the only catch can setup ive seen, that re routs back into the inlet manifold, which will send all the crap left after seperation, into your valves. it defies the reason why most people put catch cans on tsi's. and that breather on the oil cap, dude WTF, it does the exact same thing that the stupid, tap you connected to the intake, and, that the same as the factory line on the top of the pcv, under the number 3 coil, going into the the bottom side of the intake, which is still connected in this case. but triples up, and looks so stupid. just because its closer to the airflow sensor, means nothing. You talk about not sending oil into the intake, but youve just made an oil suction hose, for what ever reason, I dont know, when you already have the canister connected to the intake anyway, the line from the cap without any valves, directly into the turbo intake, its going to suck oil straigh in from the cap. To top it all off, you say something rediculous as "2 vacume sources, pulling the vapours away" dude a car has only 1 vacume pressure, thats it, but even that doesnt make sense, because, the turbo inlet that youve plumbed it into, doesnt have any vacume, itsc onnected for the system to breath. and when I thought it cant get worse, you drill in the inlet, all the shavings, dropped into the inlet straight into the turbo blades. dude, stop touching peoples cars. What a waste of your energy and time.

    • @daveperryLXXVII
      @daveperryLXXVII 2 года назад

      Dude I know what you're saying but I understand why he did it. I don't think it's going to suck from the can though. It's going to suck more air from filter side rather then the smaller hose. I understand he is talking about crank case pressure though. Pretty sure I'd want it vented if my car had 600hp plus. Doubt it will do much to a stock gti 🤷‍♂️

    Hi Tracy, thanks for the video. For the past year I thought the low vacuum/atmosphere pressure during light engine loading at highway speeds in my crankcase was a mechanical problem. After GM replaced all the pistons and higher tension rings in my Chevy Equinox, I thought I would see improved vacuum. Nope. I was assuming these modern engines worked the same those older V-6 and V-8, single cam engines. I ran across Matt DickMeyer performance and an article in Engine Build Magazine on GDI Ecotec engines. After talking to him about his solution and external PCV system, he opened my eyes on the problems with reversion and the tuned intakes the OEM designed, which is must. Running a dry sump system or an expensive electric vaccum pump was not an option. www.enginebuildermag.com/2017/10/solving-gasoline-direct-injection-issues-facts-fictions-gdi/ I installed individual vacuum fittings on each of my intake runners and attached a mechanical vacuum gauge. When measuring at EVAP port no issues found, smooth steady reading. When reading from any runner individually, I get speed/load specific vibration on the needle. This is the reversion Matt talked about, and confirmed for myself. I try warn people about the so-called cold air (actually hot air) aftermarket intake systems that do away with all the tuned designed, baffles, expansion chambers needed for proper intake performance. Just ordered your RXP catch can, with dual source ports and have started testing the intake vacuum performance under load. When intake manifold vacuum drops the clean side of the PCV system and intake filter housing and pipe take over using the venturi affect. Although lower it keeps the crankcase at slightly negative or at atmosphere using the much larger hose from the camshaft cover. We will never see the same vacuum readings, but that is not needed. I am seeing an increase from .01 inHg at idle to .6 inHg at WOT.

    Yes Toyota has a solution to keep the intake valve clean

    • @tracylewisperformance2270
      @tracylewisperformance2270 4 года назад

      Toyota has added in small secondary port injectors and this has helped slow the rate and severity of the coking, but only by app 50%. And in doing so increase the incidence of knock retard so not a good solution. The only true prevention is a proper system that is 95% plus effective, and then there will still be a small amount over time due to the EGR burnt gasses back filling emulation the VVT accomplishes.

    Tracy, You have a great product and will save up to purchase one. But, as a tech in the early 70’s, anyone who has stood over a bench grinders wire wheel, next to a stack of intake valves to clean the carbon/coking off stem and valve head, is exhausted once done. This stuff is close to creating diamond if more pressure was available. I got burned by a machine shop who did our valve jobs as the knurled the guides then never reamed them. To make it worse, it was on the old style Ford E100 van. Back & forth, inside & out, then while at idle before finish, 1 by 1, I lost a cylinder as the valve stems stuck. I recommend placing the catch cans away from heat as the crankcase fumes have to condense to create droplets. Raw fuel, water from burning fuels and the trace acids, if caught, will keep the throttle valve, intake plenum, runners and valves clean. This great that you have shown empty can competitors much less explaining 3 stages, 4 zones of separation & containment. Thanks again for time & thoughts put into your product. ASE Master Tech since 78 - Retired

    • @tracylewisperformance2270
      @tracylewisperformance2270 4 года назад

      Thanks Dean, Yes, remember valve jobs at 30-40k miles due to coking and guide wear, and having to cut the wear ridge in cylinders just to be able to remove the pistons wear was so extreme. Good post!

    • @deankay4434
      @deankay4434 4 года назад

      It feels strange to say, but OBD-II caused engineers to design engines with tighter clearances, seal materials, more attention to valves, guides, rings, etc. As a carb guy, I was glad to see EFI, now with no confusing vacuum chart. In 76, the 280Z had 7 injectors, 6 triggered each crank rotation, 7th is cold start via thermal time switch using a vane flow meter. Cadillac Seville w/5.7L, triggered L Bank, R Bank w/TPS adding additional triggers to the injectors to provide acceleration. After Buick introduced “Sequential Fuel Injection” this set the stage for “Misfire” detection, ID, and some kill the injector. So step by step, engine control is better yet complicated for many. Now, your product keeps the air delivery side clean & efficient while reducing wear. Manufactures equate 5,000 hours to 150k miles. This allows 3 to 4 times longer performance, emissions and someday, perhaps standard on vehicles. Blessed to think I was Tech during these changes and more. Who would have thought 8 speed automatics would be common? Best of luck to TeamRXP! I will share my knowledge of this product & benefits to my tech buddies!

    • @tracylewisperformance2270
      @tracylewisperformance2270 4 года назад

      Absolutely. The intake valves will already be coked up so a manual cleaning of them is recommended, but the excessive fuel dilution and full time flushing the crankcase is well worth it. If valves are clean the average MPG gain is 8-10% and oil stays cleaner 2-3 times as long. www.RXCatchcans.com

    Wont you get a vacuum leak? since the hose from the intake manifold and the intake was connected to the catch can? The intake manifold has vacuum, and since the hose to the intake is before the turbo, when the intake manifold is having a boost or vacuum, the air will leak from the intake hose?
