​@stevecoughlan8167 NSK is a wholesale groceries stores. Think Costco (US). Everything in bulk. Mydin Mall too. Imported brands food or even clothes are expensive as Msia have high import tax. Local coffee like White Coffee is more Affordable or Borneo coffee beans. Kkennangan Coffee (Indonesia coffee chain) and Kopi 2 darjat(local small business).Cinema is cheaper either on Tues or Wed.

Yes it does snow in Shanghai. Not uncommon to see snow in Shanghai, but this idiot mentioned it's weird to see snowfall in Shanghai and the temperature would go up to 45 C' in 5 minutes. How could that during winter months in Shanghai? I don't think there's huge temperature fluctuations in any part of the world during winter months.

Steve Coughlan the shops seem to have amazing dresses. is there a reason why you didn’t buy one in the market and had one made instead? Also do you think it’s worth it to fly to China and buy or have a dress made than buying a similar one here for like $7000 plus? (Wedding dresses can be super expensive in the U.S)

New York is a lot more culturally diverse and more historical, while Shanghai is more of like a modern metropolis because Shanghai has only started to really modernize about 26 years ago. Overall, I feel like living in Shanghai is more convenient and cheaper (maybe except for housing). p.s I've been to both cities, both were awesome.

Hi Mariyah, I don’t have the address in Chinese, but anyway we found out that the Wedding Market in Suzhou had mostly closed down (by the time we were ready to buy the dress)....in the end we had to buy the dress in Shanghai. We went to a fantastic dress maker and it wasn’t too expensive...circa ¥9000....happy to send you the address of the dress maker if that helps ?

Agreed Shanghai feels like one of the most entrepreneurial places I’ve ever lived.....

They just need to clean up the streets and build better infrastructures. Then it would be perfect.

GDP isn't everything; its all about standard of living. There are very few homeless in Shanghai (a city of almost 30 million)' while 1 out of 100 people are homeless in New York. Also, Shanghai homes have much higher GDP per household.
