TTC External Route Announcements (Routes 6 - 199)
NOTE: The route announcements are now long outdated and its voice has since been replaced by the VISION system. This video still serves as a reminder of what these automated route announcements used to sound like back when it was first implemented.
This is a set of sound bytes of Toronto Transit Commission's ERA system that has begun implementing in 2016. This includes all regular, Downtown Express, Rocket, and seasonal routes that operate during the day, but excluding special services (such as school specials or temporary routes no longer in service). Note that all sounds in this video are made by myself and is not official, as there may be mistakes or typos that deviate from how it sound...

Toronto Transit Commission have started to using the electronic next stop announcement system heard in the Flexity streetcars for its buses. In Summer 2015, TTC updates bus stop messages when they are needed using this system, such as the recently implemented Northcrest Rd stop. However, in 2016, another system was implemented for stops that needed updating. The following are the messages shown...

July 31 | 2013 Toronto Rocket #5661-5666 | Museum to Spadina | TTC once again modified the TR announcement system. Now every time such a train is arriving at a station (except terminal stations), it notifies which side the doors will open. (The message for interchange stations also changed.) The message for terminal stations ("This is a terminal station." is left unchanged.)
The first announcement sounds like the streetcar announcement

Set voice as KAREN in acapela and set it to bullhorn for Vision system of external route announcements.

Use a TTS Voice in Oddcast or Acapela.
UPDATE: 5 Avenue Rd has been renumbered to 13 Avenue Rd and the 6 Bay has been renumbered to 19 Bay.
It already did in June 2021.

They renumbered these routes because of Line 5 and Line 6 are going to open and this is also to reduce confusion of the numbers.

Am I the only one slightly annoyed that it's a TTS voice? I suppose it saves money using that program instead of paying someone to voice it for you. I hope it gets changed to sound more natural because it's very apparent that it's TTS

In Summer 2015, TTC updates bus stop messages when they are needed using this system, such as the recently implemented Northcrest Rd stop. However, in 2016, another system was implemented for stops that needed updating. The announcer voice was changed once again between 2018-2019 with the implementation of the new VISION system, this one is a computer voice rather than the human recording used under the previous system. All next-stop bus announcements are now via VISION's new computer voice.
The reason why vision system came in 2018 because the Trump system is too old to stay.
