I have had "flare ups" several times in my life (mostly in the last 14 years) and when I had them it just simply confused the doctors and doctors after doctors and doctors. It would go away and then if I had a procedure of any kind or an allergen it would come back, last about 4 months with extreme symptoms (a lot of gastro issues) then clear up. It was all awful. Today I am feeling great...and yet, going through the maze of doctors so that I can be proactive for the future. Thank you to the woman in this video. No one could have spoken it better. Excellent Information! My 88 y/o Mother was diagnosed with Pemphigus Vulgaris 2 months ago. We experienced exactly what the Doctor said that it took us months to get a diagnosis. It started in her mouth and then it went to her skin across her chest and on top of one shoulder. She has received two Rituximab infusions.

I believe mine began in 2015 .. but I was not diagnosed on paper til 2020 .. yet I was seen by an incredible Dr at NW Medicine in Chicago .. then she left the institution and state . I am wondering about two things: 1. How could EVERYONE not think of an autoimmunedisease? Blisters -> Check antibodies especially with female patients. Pemphigus vulgaris, Epidermolysis, etc is part of the curriculum even when I was still studying. 2. Its really amazing that it became worse over time but was limited to her mouth only. That means it was fully IgG1 on DSG-3 onl, without any antobodies against DSG-1 at all (except of her pallatum durum was also affected)

My sister has this disease and she refused to go on cellcept or Prednisone. She found a great med called Retuxin or Retuxibob. See if you could get that med.

Have been dealing with what seems to be what you’re experiencing. Start for me at 53 . I’ve been battling this to date since 2010 . 8 dermatologists, 1 infectious disease drs. These lesions, I refer to them, all bleed , once it reaches a horrible inflamed condition bleed out and a slit as if you cut it open appears . These sores first appeared on face along neckline, chest, now arms legs , stomach. I don’t know how much more I can stand ! Going out is a chore just making them less noticeable lighter , not for long! ! I had a flare of some bacterial thing going on with dental that the dentist couldn’t understand what was going on ! I was finally dx with MMP several years ago after 12 years of symptoms. Wearing a mask increases my mouth & nose symptoms, probably due to the heat on my face under the mask. I have been refused medical care because I have to refuse the mask. Few medical people understand the condition.

At first her disease was diagnosed as oral lichen planus, but as blisters started appearing, soon on 2nd visit the oral medicine dr diagnosed her to be a case of oral pemphigus vulgaris.
