The Most Underrated SUV, 1994 Ford Explorer
Просмотров 3,4 тыс.4 месяца назад
In my opinion one of the best value vehicle on the market today. Especially in the family friendly, 4 door SUV category. Let me know what you think beats it! 1991 1992 1993 1994 ford explorer
High Mileage Cummins Review; 2006 Dodge 3500
Просмотров 24 тыс.Год назад
Here is a 2006 Dodge 3500HD with the 5.9 Cummins and a 6 speed manual. The ultimate work truck (in my biased opinion). But now many trucks this age with high miles, this one only has 405,000. Are they worth keeping on the road? Maybe a new truck is worth the money? You tell me! What do you drive?
The Story of a Ranch Truck: 1st gen Dodge W350
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.Год назад
This is "Lucky". A 1991 Dodge W350 with absolutely nothing special about it, that lives it's life on an Idaho ranch. It's story is one of neglect, abuse and, in return, loyalty. Ended up cutting part that explained what is on the front; it is a hydraulic post puller built by yours truly.
1965 Dodge TownWagon Cummins Power Wagon
Просмотров 76 тыс.Год назад
This is a walk around and some of the details on my dad's custom built 1965 Dodge town wagon power wagon with a 12 valve Cummins, 47RH automatic transmission, 4x4. It gets used as a daily driver, road tripper, tows around his horses, and mainly puts smiles on faces! It's been a really fun project to wrap up, and fun to share with you guys! I hope you enjoy it! For anyone interested here is t...
Ford NP273 Transfer Case Manual Shift Conversion
Просмотров 19 тыс.Год назад
Here I am showing how I used the wild horse manufacturing kit to convert this transfer case to manual shift for my 1979 F250 Cummins build! It's very simple, and will allow me to keep the track simple and reliable. Link to the kit (not an affiliate): www.ebay.com/itm/304788273545 I'll have some more videos up soon of the Fummins truck build, if anyone is interested!
Buying a Cheap Truck in 2023: 1990 Ford Ranger
Просмотров 70 тыс.Год назад
Can a few thousand dollars still get you something decent to drive in 2023? Is driving a cheap pickup better than making payments on a new one? I don’t know, but this is what I did. It may not be a Toyota, but it is CHEAP. And that’s what counts. My new beater with a heater, and daily driver, is a 1990 Ford Ranger 2.9 v6 5 speed 4x4. It has around 260,000 miles on it (best I can tell) and shows...
How to: Killer Rear Freeze Plug Fix 5.9 Cummins
Просмотров 2,7 тыс.Год назад
It’s not uncommon to see leaks, or even total failure of the rear freeze plug on the back of the block on a Cummins diesel, especially after any kind of modifications to the engine. More rpm and power means more coolant pressure and heat. It can show itself in a coolant leak at the back of the block or front of the transmission. 2006 Dodge 3500 5.9 cummins 6 speed manual. I was able to do thi...
I've got 399800 miles on my 2007 6.7 l. Put a few transmissions in it, but now the Allison swap from ATS DIESEL, was worth it
i wish i paid $2000 for my 08 Ranger 65000 miles
I have the 93 XLT i got for free, Sat for 15 yrs untouched. New fuel pump and Filter, and all the other fluids changed, its been pretty reliable for the exception of something that has been sitting for 15yrs. I am on the fence on ether a new mid size truck and sell off the exploder ( as I call it) or, swap it over to a 5spd man transmission. As everyone knows that has been around these, the automatic trans is glass. Someone cared to keep up the engine work, front suspension, brakes ect but looks as if the automatic failed and was left abandoned. Someone installed a good used automatic with a huge trans oil cooler , half the size of the radiator....lol I have serviced it once when put on road, and didn't find any parts of metal in the pan, but fluid was ready to be changed. Shifts ok, But has that famous vibration in 3rd right before shift into 4th. I don't drive it far. Hell of a 4x4 when needed, everything works, windows, AC, heat ect. My question was what was the 5spd trans numbers? I know Mazda made it, but don't remember the model number. Also is the crank able to take a flywheel when swapping from auto to manual? I think the transfer case will swap, I have the push button 4x4, it works fine. drive line the same? If any of the followers have answers that would be great also. Not afraid of "building" a beater. Would like to do the 2inch lift and 30x9.50-15 so it can still turn tires on the interstate.
also to add, the jeep Cherokee, grand Cherokee (6 banger) wille wagon (1960's) were all great , fairly balanced weight wise for basic 4x4 use, along with the explorer. Honestly for a basic off road rig put the Dana tru track diff in the 8.8, lift kit and good tries, it will go just about anywhere the expensive rigs go. This is coming from a Geo tracker, Suzuki sidekick owner many times over until the price of building one got crazy. also owned many jeeps from the willie wagon to the CJ5, grand Cherokee 6 banger
160-mph speedometer. That Cummins has a lot of power. 7:11 7:12
LOL, those seats will outlast that truck.
I live in Floridahhh a truck like that runs $5,000 and up !
What keeps dirt from getting into the transfer case. I didn’t see a seal
I love ford rangers you scored my name is gabriel from Houston TX
What is the catalog number of the part you shot? The drive is electric.
excellent video
I bought a 91 navajo, I guess 12yrs ago now, for $700. Needed tune up parts, plugs, wires, etc... but I've put another 100k on it and it the most reliable car in the family fleet. Pushrod 4.0 motor and 5speed 4x4. Parts are sooooo cheap and everywhere for these trucks.
Thanks for your video!
Completely agree with everything you said. 100%.
Beautiful car but aren't you concerned about saftey hauling your family around in there? Saftey tech has come along way in 30 years. Even the difference between the mid 90s and mid 2000s was pretty big. Improvements in crumple zones and airbags. If your kid is an infant and you invest in a quality car seat then maybe its no big deal but I would be nervous putting any kid over the age of like 5 in that car for a long road trip.
That’s the PERFECT first gen Explorer! Wow!
Do you have any suggestions on one that has had its window tracks taken out on the front doors, because my windows don‘t work because of that.
My best advice would be to find another explorer to get the parts from that you need. These explorers are common in junkyards near me.
@ alright, thank you for the reply!
I own an '03 common rail with a Smarty tune that has 560,000 miles. The only engine repairs have been 2 water pumps and 2 sets of injectors. It doesn't drip oil all over the place and I never have to add any either. The 47re has been highly modified by me and it's a daily driver. We've pulled a 14,000# living quarters horse trailer all over too going to horse shows
I have had my 91 for over 21 years. Same 4 door and exterior color as yours but with the tan interior. I bought it when I lived in Washington for $1100 with 150K miles and it now I live in Arizona and it has 425K miles on the original 4.0 OHV that has never been out of the engine bay. I have been using this as a daily for years. 6" lift and 33" tires will take you anywhere a Jeep with $40K worth of modifications will go and even some places the Jeep can't go. I don't feel it is an issue, but I have personally have had to rebuild the A4LD transmission 2 times now.
I bought my Uncles 93 Toyota Pickup with the 22RE, 5 speed, and a 7.5ft bed for $500 bucks off my uncle. Works great! I just love the simplicity of 90s vehicles.
Idk how to drive manual but i agreee with everything you say 100%
Dude! That's super badass!! Since I was a kid back in the 70's I wanted to see a dirt bike outfitted like this. I had an XL125S and rode it through the forests that looked very much like yours there. Nice job! That looks like so much fun.
Love it! My dad had a 91 Eddie Bauer some years ago, and I got myself a 93 XLT with the manual transmission and I couldn't be happier. Please keep updates on the truck! It's great to have someone doing things that we can learn on our projects too!
Good test. Probably wear that motor out pretty quick under that load, using that much fuel that fast. Next step 600 for sure!
I have a 92 first gen with 250,000 miles on it. It runs great. Just picked up a 2000 f 250 with 365,000 on it. It’s a little rough but once I finish the oil leaks I intend to drive it !!! Great video!!!
My dad had a 2000 3500 with 1.3 million and a 2005 3500 with 900,000 miles.
I daily my 95 5.0 5 speed Mustang with some tasteful mods in the summer. An my 91 4x4 5 speed Explorer in the winter in Utah stock with newer brakes shocks an tires clutch. I can afford newer vehicles but having cheaper insurance an no payments with comfortable reliable vehicles is awesome! lol 😂 Plus I can find parts for both cheap!
I have a 1989 Ranger STX Super Cab 4x4 with the off road package that I bought brand new and it paid for itself many times over, since i've had it. It still only has 99,388 miles on it. I'll have to retire it soon though because I need to down size my vehicle collections...lol
I have and 04 3500 6spd with 67,000 miles! (109,000km). I almost sold it for $40k 2 weeks but decided not too! It’s legit brand used, no frame rust, scratches or nothing. I’m betting I can get more than $40k if I continue to keep the miles off of it. Mind you I have a 2012 that’s my daily
Got lots of rangers - 1983 for 300 bucks almost 21 years ago just installed another clutch assembly since the first one I put in was 20 years ago
Do you still have your red ranger?
Love your truck, I bought a 1992 Ford Ranger XLT 3.0 automatic a few months ago and absolutely love this truck. Put a few bucks in it but overall in great shape for its age. I am almost 60 and feel like a kid again with a new toy. Excellent purchase and will continue to put more money into it if needed. Could not be happier with my new OLD truck lol. Good luck with yours if you still have it......
hows the fuel economy?
18-21mpg depending on driving.
I hate Ohio. Those trucks have turned to Iron Oxide here. Cool truck man!
I would love to find a deal like that. The oldest 4wd Rangers I can get within 10 miles of my area is 2003 for about $8999 with 150k - 200k miles on them.
Just a quick note.. all 1994 explorer models had egr added as well as sequential fuel injection.. this was to solve the spark knock the 4.0 inherently has. (It really didnt help)
Small pick up prices have gone insane. Those Rangers go for as much as an equivalent F-150.
Would have loved to see the camper that was on it. lol
I love these things. Been trying to find a buddy who'll do a cheap truck challenge against me for a little while now and I think this is just the type of rig I'd like to use. Maybe controversial a little bit but I think these are better than Jeep XJs. Now how rare is that lever shifted transfer case in the explorer? I've seen 5 speed explorers pop up here and there but can't place when I've ever seen a lever shift transfer case.
They are pretty uncommon to have the manual transfer case, but not impossible to find. I looked at 2 others in the last year, they just were not clean enough for what we wanted!
this gives me hope. I've been passing on trucks that need work knowing damn well it's so fun to fix them. and with all the epa restrictions, these older trucks will keep climbing in price. i also never seen a truck lift that high when getting loaded. that was kind of awesome haha
My dad has a 1990 ford f150 it was so good
about 3 months in on my 93 eddie baurer edition
1500!!!! Where????!!!!
4 years ago I bought a ram 4x4 1500 , for $2.500. Still driveing it .
That would have been a $4,500 truck around Louisville Kentucky.
I had literally the identical truck to yours except it was a 1991. Slow as hell, but I absolutely loved it! Was very lucky to get it for free off the original owner. Had 289000km. 30k km and 4 years later it was still running strong! Had to sell it because I moved away for school and needed something that could keep up on the highway, but I wish I never sold it!
Looking at a 83 for my first car but needs a carb what you think?
If you know what you are looking at (or grab someone who does), look it over for condition. How it has been maintained, or abused, goes a long ways! if it is solid, carb work is not too bad on those, if you know the basics!
Nice rig. Glad to hear someone else who will never have a truck payment
I really enjoyed this video, It had great filming and editing quality, so I went to your channel to find more videos to watch and I was surprised to find you only have a handful of videos. This is truly some of the best quality I have seen out of a youtube channel and you have less than 1000 subscribers, I'm impressed, Keep up the good work.
does the girlfriend feel comfortable when sat very close beside the driver in that truck ?
Bruh, I haven't seen an old Ranger for less than 3k since high school
