I like the look of the diffuser that extends from the floor as opposed to out of the wall. Also, if it come out of the wall I have one more item to cut drywall around and another weak link in the thermal envelope. Just my thoughts. Thanks for commenting.

Glad you liked it. This will help with leveling but it will only go so far. Should work for laminate flooring.

Usually if the granite is still a little cloudy it is because some of the larger scratches left by a previous sanding pad was not fully removed. I have had this happen to me. The only fix is to go back and start the polishing process over again. I would first try a small section and see if that fixes it. You will know for sure by doing this. The enhancer will bring the colors out but will not remove the cloudiness from polishing. You can transport the granite slabs or the finished countertops for many many miles as long as they are strapped well and you are using a well built trailer A frame that is screwed or bolted to your trailer. I would have no worries transporting them the distance you are talking about.

It has to be tight but not supper tight that the screws pull out. The silicone also gives some support. I have a tendency to overtighten everything and I have not pulled any screws out or deformed the sink. However I would recommended using a heavier gauge sink. thanks for watching. Hope this helped.

I have never done this. I would think it would, being it is 3/4 plywood. However, I am not sure.

Hi. I believe the granite for this job was 2 slabs and the cost was about $1200. I did pay $1200 for a remnant piece from a fabricator that was a little less then a half sheet. I did this because I had no other options. I did save about $12000 or so on granite countertops for a high end rental I built. That savings was from a quote I got from Home Depot to do the job. Granite is pretty easy to do. You just have to be careful not to crack it when moving the sheets or pieces. Also very careful to not drop it on yourself. You only have to have patience's on the edging, polishing and the seaming. I will have more granite videos out from the lake house tear down rebuild series I am doing now. Videos are coming out slowly based on the time needed to build this cottage. If you are a good DIY person you should be able to do this easily!!! Mounting brackets with screws is a really good option. You will be surprised as to how much screws can hold. I will be coming out with more granite videos when I do the granite for the lake house tear down rebuild series I am doing now. In these videos I will be showing how to use the drill in clips. These are better and easier if you have the right drilling equipment. If you don't have the right equipment the bracket system shown is a really good option. Well, when money is an issue you can always find another way. I have found it also works well in setting basement beams. I have never seen it done with trim screws. Are you using them in the field on the tongue or as face nails on the first couple of boards. Screws will not squeak, but they will split the tongue. If you are using screws because you do not have a nailer, then just rent one. They are not that expensive. I would hate to see you waste the expensive flooring. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the comment. I was in the same boat. I lost many countertop jobs to granite people, so I started to do them. Also, I could not afford the granite prices so I just did it myself. It was the best thing ever. Just be careful because granite is very heavy. You could be seriously hurt if not moved correctly and with some thought. Good luck!!! I am sure they will be beautiful.

Thanks for the question. Traditional size of a 2x4 is 1.5" x 3.5". When designing a home and building one, the contractor really needs the dimensions from the edge of studs. So you design the house with the actual size of the studs. So inside walls are 3.5" wide. Plumbing walls would be 5.5" wide. Outside walls are normally 2 x 6 with 1/2" plywood attached so you would draw it 6" wide. Garage wall are usually 2 x 4 walls with 1/2" plywood attached, so they would be 4" wide. Hope this helps!!
