I needed to replace the axle seals. while I had them out, I wanted to replace the worn three point anchor pins. I removed the trumpet housings to do this. while they were out, I replaced the bearings.

this was my late father's tractor. a late forties model ferguson. it has been sitting over ten years. my uncle said the engine was rebuilt years ago. it does not smoke, what little I have ran it. I have not seen this tractor in 40 years. I remember him using it when I was a kid around our homestead in the early 80s. after he passed, my uncle called me up and told me to come get it. as you can te...

Well done, nice job, so many people come unstuck trying to re-build without a reamer.
sri lanka- ❤️👍
bremsen des mf 135 sind mist, keine bremswirckung durch schlechte hebelübersetzung und durch ungünstige pedalarieanordnung zu wenig pedalkraft
These brakes are not self adjusting. They will require periodic adjustments as the shoes wear.

Hello idol from Philippines idol wow 👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
You are persistent, and patient. Thank you.
If you dont like the weather in Oklahoma, just wait a minute.
Is that the US version or UK, would the rear axle repair be the same for both, do you know? I have a UK with a leaky seal.
Yes this is the US version. It Is the same for the UK version. Check out bundy bears shed on RUclips. He restores the UK version. There are some minor differences with the sheet metal and power steering between the two.
Thanks for the video. I have one of those brake wrench tools to; I got a few old cars that I can use them on; As well as my 59 M-F 50 gasser, & like you I don't get to use it much, But it's better to have it, & not need it; Than need it, & not have it. Nice brake job; I hope your finger heels up well for you.
Mashed finger ?
Yep. Got it caught in a chain a few days before I did this.
My 135 74 model is leaking fluid out of vent on top of steering box there shouldnt be P S fluid there how is it getting there its filling gear box up with P S fluid
The steering shaft and seal under the control valve may be leaking by.
The control valve may be leaking enough under pressure to force fluid into the gearbox.
It dont circulate fluid when you pour it in resivoir goes out of vent just sitting there and lines get hot
Can plugged filter cause this
All seals in control valve and shaft seals are new
Hello. Are you sure that this spring should be mounted around the adjuster this way? It is all twisted around 😶. And I hope your finger will get well soon.
Yep, this is the way. Finger is all healed up now. Brakes are working good.
Hello im looking for Massey Ferguson 35 power steering assembly does anyone sell this part or maybe someone send me a link from a website that sells this?
well done i am in ireland have problems sourcing a reamer can you help me on same regs jim
www.wttool.com/ This is where I got the ream from. I am not sure if they ship internationally. Anywhere that sells machine tooling should have them. The one I have is made in China. It gets the job done.
thanks for that i have nephews in the usa if i have any problems i may contact you again regs jim
Which oil did you use to fill the pump with? I just picked up a 1975 135 with factory power steering.
The massey spec is m1129a oil or equivalent. It is the same oil used in the transmission for the hydraulics.
Thanks I have to put a new bearing on my IH 454 somebody had it apart and there is at least a 1/4 inch of up and down play if it even has a bearing in there
Good job. ...
Good job❤❤❤
Thanks Jerry, I hope this is not too difficult!!?? I'm wondering DIY or paying for the job? I understand it very well and love the mechanical side of it, your thoughts for 2 cents?
It wasn't terribly difficult to do. I do have access to a large press that made getting the bearings off easy. The speedy sleeve takes some finesse to install as it can be damaged easily and is expensive. Check out bundy bears shed on RUclips. He shows other ways on how to do this job. If yours has the locking differential, make sure it is locked in before pulling the axle.
@@jerrymoore7669 I'll take that for a thumbs up for DIY, rewatch yours and Bundy videos again. Will keep you posted!! Thank you Jerry!
I mentioned in the video regarding the lock ring that you will need a oxy/ acetylene torch to get it hot enough to get it to drop over the shaft. Lance shows that in his video.
Hi
agree. the old steward/warner gauges arn't like these new made in China ..... items. ! 🐄 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stewart-Warner
Thanks Jerry. I have just done a friend's 135 similarly however while the brakes work they are not ideal and one has to stand on the pedals very hard to stop. I will drive it around a little bit and give the brakes a chance to bed in, readjust and see if that improves the situation. It's interesting that the brakes on these tractors will stop properly in reverse but not going forwards. Hmm does anyone know why?
Some crowd in Ireland sell soft pads have on my tractor when they bed in she will drag the wheels on tar so well impressed ey I learn the hard way with the brakes went over the ditch
Ok
Ok
Nice technical movie one of the most beautifull English vintage tractor! ....and Nice piece of work! Greatings from Poland!
Jerry your voice is stunning.. By the way I am mechanic too
bravo
Job is very good but your Safty zoom Why not you gloves Al so I see your finger in just parts is a able but Body parts is N.A my frind Safty First
Could yoou have drilled and tapped flange for a zerk fitting, or outside race in the way?
The race is in the way on the cover. It may be possible to tap the flange where the bolts come thru the housing. It would also need a drain hole,or else the cavity would fill up with grease and push thru the seals.
I can not find the rebuild kit for my 135 steering.can you send me information on where to get and part numbers would be good.
There is not a complete kit persay for power steering equipped tractors like mine. I sourced the parts from massey ferguson, yesterdays tractors, walts tractors, sparex, and some other online places. I bought a parts book and service manual on ebay. If your tractor has the manual steering there are kits available for that. Check out bundy bears shed on you tube. He has a restoration series on the 135, his has the manual gear box on it.
Ai sim proficonal na mecanica e impotante
Have do it that job too...thats adjust its not complit before braks its the same of both wheels , you wild find it out of a breaktest..its done...
What year is that tractor?
1973ish.
Good

Hi, where do you check the gear oil level?
The I&T SHOP MANUAL says to Take the top bolt out of the left side sector gear cap. Mine held almost a quart of sae 90 gear oil when empty. The factory manual says to pack it with grease. Yours could have either in it.
@@jerrymoore7669 thank you do you fill it from the same spot?
@@44place85 you can or take the vent plug out from the top and fill it till it runs out the side.
@@jerrymoore7669 thanks
Good
Thanks, I learnt something. I just now replaced my MF 135 original diff crown and pinion.... Hoping the wheel bearings and seals are ok. Good job Jerry. Good luck with the rest of your project.
Check out bundy bears shed on you tube. He goes more in depth on his 135 restoration. He covers it all.
Hi Jerry, did you make a plate so that you could press apart the carrier from the axle?
I used a large bearing separator and a 55 ton press I had at work. It came right off.
Thankyou for this video, it gives me a good idea how to renew my brakes, greatly appreciated
Very informative. Thank you for contribution to share your knowledge.
Would you be interested in doing mine? It seems to be a rare option... I'm in Florida
I still have an issue with mine. I haven't taken the time to go back in it. In hind sight I should have put a manual gear box on it. Would have been cheaper that way. I live in Oklahoma.
Thank you for the video. I'll watch anymore you have on your project cause I'm working on a 135 just like yours. You mentioned your steering powering one way but not the other...same issue I have, along with a wheel bearing issue on the right rear. I would like to know if you've figured out the steering yet.
No. I have put it on hold for now. I sent the wheels out to get powder coated. They are supposed to be ready this week. Once I get tires on it I am going to drive it around to see if it will work itself out. The steering was working before I took it down. I suspect the control valve is the issue. I may have also shimmed the column to much when I put it back together. Bundy bears shed on you tube has a video series on this tractor. he has better video on the axle bearings. If yours has the locking diff. Make sure the pedal is tied down with the diff lock engaged before pulling the axle.
The British tractors have a BSP thread not the common NPT you have in the USA. All of our 135 Gauges have an internal 3/8" unf fitting. They say to set the relief to 60psi max cold and revving well.
My MF 135 power steering is leaking as well, but my one is made in the UK so it is not quite the same as yours. ( I am in New Zealand ) I think the 230 has the same pump.
G Day Jerry, It has been a long process for you. I know what you are saying with the aftermarket parts at times, I have not worked on that setup as we didnt get it over here but it looks like you will get a long service period out of it now.
