Also Graff won the Golden calendar Grand Slam (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, US Open and Gold Medal in the Olympics)

Jana was a lovely person, and yes she should have won the title in this match. Seles was no threat to Graf on grass at all..

if you come to the net it needs to be on the back of a superb shot. Novotna was coming to the net on the back of any old thing making it super easy for Graf to make a passing shot in the later stages of the third set.

I remember seeing this live on TV in 1993 and Jana Novotna crying and Duchess of Kent comforting here which was a nice gesture from Duchess of Kent. I remember that gesture more than the actual match. It became one of wimbledon's great moments in history. Not the match but the post match Novotna crying and being comforted by the Duchess.

Ohhh well not ADHD. I have Narcolepsy. From age 13 - 28 despite asking doctors all the time why am I so tired all the time, but still it went undiagnosed until after I found a drug that really helped to keep me awake. I also used to get horrific migraines and my GP started giving me 30mg morphine injections to help the pain from when I was 13 or 14. It helped. But it also had a reverse effect in my body and instead of making me feel drowsy, it did the opposite and provoked wakefulness. With a baby I had to be awake and get things done. Doctors said virus thing Chronic Fatigue that but not one thought to send me for a sleep study. Until after my addiction to being awake sucked me - morphine. It was my addiction specialist who sent me to a sleep specialist and a week later I had a diagnosis. But 14 years went by. They started me on Ritalin (still on it to stay awake) and Suboxone to get off morphine. But about 4-5 years ago I discovered alcohol in me really also stimulates wakefulness. So when I was sleepy here and there and then everywhere. I now have also been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Trigeminal Neuralgia and Fibromyalgia on top of my Narcolepsy. Some days my pain is so bad I lie in bed all and pray to just die so I don’t feel pain. But in the next room is my C 16yo son. His Dad committed suicide when he was only 3. He’s my only and I’m an only child. Apart from me he has just a Grandma and Great Uncle interstate whom he hardly knows. He loves me. I don’t deserve it but he does and every day I fail him. He is the only thing in the world I care about but I’m too tired. I just want to sleep and not be in pain. But that’s the stuff of dreams. I don’t care about one bit anymore, I hate myself and I have for going on 30 years. I don’t care if alcohol kills me. Sooner the better. But if I give up and let myself slip into oblivion my son would hurt. I don’t want him around me and my bad influences but I don’t want to leave him and have him feel alone in the world. I’ve Narcissistic Personality Disorder through my life as well and I know I am best avoided so I keep to myself. I spend 23 hours plus every day alone in my bedroom with the curtains shut. Shut the world out. Life is lovely.

What a gem thanks for sharing! Monica must have been cold wearing the long-sleeved top for the entire match. It doesn’t have a Nike logo oddly, I wonder if she wasn’t prepared for the colder conditions? I think by this point Monica was really over 1998, she said this a month earlier at the Masters.
