The first episode of Laff-it-Off: 40 Years of Culture, Comedy, and Commentary celebrates this iconic production as an integral part of Barbadian community life. Its placement within the popular TV series My Community, that is generously supported and sponsored by Sir David Seale, highlights its significance, and connection with the community. Mindful of the National overarching theme of “We Gat...

These are the number of people that lost their lives Cuba -57, Guyana -11, North Korea 5 people died 🙏🏾❤️😢
I need to hear somebody from one of those parts of St.Lucy to be able to hear the different accent. Big Up St.Lucy <3
It seems to me from where I stand; Saint Lucy is taking up the mantle of being the trail blazers in the Resurrection of this aspect of Bajan culture. The other parishes are in a unique position to benefit from the illumination of the light, which Saint Lucy so proudly shines. This is certainly a step in the direction of dismantling that element responsible for the destruction of the community.
Bajan culture is alive and kicking!!
The Host was exceptional with his performance; his delivery was extremely engaging. So knowledgeable!
Good day Mr McCascie. Thanks again for the great content!❤ 🎉From London❤
Love this video. So proud of St. Lucy. I'm coming home
A job well done by minister Chad Blackman articulating the Farlyien philosophy!
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the series . Thanks so much.
Hynesley brought back some great memories for me! I had forgotten about the arrows on the cane fields at Christmas time. The tot with oil/terpentime for the larder feet to keep away the ants. The hanging of the ham in the rafters, the sweet smell of baking the night before. I had a good laugh. Thank you so much.
A wonderful episode, as usual. Looking forward to this series.
Very good. Congrats Barbados 2025.
Why they say ** SENT ** Lucy most of the time???
It's just how Bajans pronounce the word 'Saint'
Great memories ❤ that’s where it all started at Yoruba yard
Please remember that we need some clean water
I love this Forum; what a fantastic way to develop, and showcase the Bajan culture. The initiative to dare to be imaginative by those who have the foresight to introduce Bajans to an aspect of the culture that I am sure is new to a great percentage of the people, and at the same time reintroduce the remaining percentage of the population to Bajan culture, presented from a different perspective. Do not allow yourself to be deceived into believing that because the package is unfamiliar, the contents are not worthwhile. I would agree that the idea's being put forth are doors of opportunity, which are designed to allow entrance to areas of Togetherness. We have to get to know each other, and there is no better way to do so outside of spending significant time with each other. To those who are of the opinion that the we-gathering is a distraction from paying attention to the problems that are very present, I say, it is not part of the problem, but it is a part of the solution. We must see beneath the surface!
In which country is this church. Is it an Anglican Church.
The Church of St Peter is situated in Speightstown, St Peter, Barbados..
Thanks. Good singing. God bless you.@@sherwoodmccaskie9507
Thank you , Mr Gollop, for the joyful memories of a Bajan Christmas, which will be forever etched in my mind. My last Christmas in Barbados was 52 years ago. Mr. McCaskie, please do a show on Workmans, St. George.
Certainly, I would like to do that. Could you recommend individuals to speak of Workmans?
@sherwoodmccaskie9507Thank you for your response, and thank you for your show. I enjoyed all. I have not been home for 20 years, but I am asking my friends for someone to whom you can speak.
Wounderful Christmas Carol and singing blessings on the choir
What a wonderful Christmas treat to the good old days. Happy New Year Sherwood.
Happy New Year Sherwood! God Bless❤
Many Thanks Sherwood Excellent Coverage
This was enlightening. It brought back great memories. The English apple you only got at Xmas. It had a unique smell.. The freshly painted houses. A load of marl to spread around the house. Great times.. I haven't experience a bajan Xmas since 1981 since I'm living it the US.. I would like to spend onto there soon even though I know it won't be like in the olden days but it will be more enjoyable than the ones here.. Too much, commercial stuff. Great stories
Really enjoyed the beautiful music from the choir
Many thanks Sherwood. Season's Greetings to all🎄
Many thanks for a great Christmas program I enjoyed it to the fullest and God continuous blessings to all in 2025
Beautiful!
Thank you for sharing my beautiful church. I enjoyed learning about the history of St. Peter's Parish Church and the accompanying music for the Holidays. (Valerie Straker)

Wow!! What a great series. As a youth getting the story ab😊ut the revolution and understamding independence and all of those things was like pullin teeth. This gives a great perspective of the challenges and divide of the generations that were faced. Balance is so important. Excellent work. Where can I watch Redemption time? Is it available on Netflix? Thank you to your team and all of the participants for sharing this story.
I watched in full but was disappointed. This seems to have a heavy right-wing slant. Eric Gairy was a brutal dictator and rapist who committed atrocities against his own people and rigged elections with armed thugs(mongoose gang) and yet he’s called a “democratically elected” leader and Bishop’s government a “regime”? Also very interesting that there was no acknowledgment of the great progress the NJM made for the people of Grenada in every sector; education, infrastructure, political empowerment, workers’ rights, women’s rights, healthcare and many many other benefits. Bernard Coard was monster who betrayed the will of the people and absolutely not representative of what the New Jewel Movement meant for the people of Grenada. At the end of the day Bishop’s fatal flaw was being overly trusting to his childhood friend(Coard).
Congratulations to Shirley Chisholm on her 100th birthday. My Mum would've been the same age also. Her biography should be in all schools, as inspiration to this generation and beyond.
1st miss Sherwood, but Hinkson you did good. I can relate to the Gilkes brothers feeling about the many smells at Christmas time. Ham, Bread, paint etc. What usually got me (not in a good way) also was the new table cloth smell. I don't know why it had to be so strong! Plus after leaving Barbados, i never had to paint or smell bad table cloths, the cooking and baking has continued, and i even does my "pot pork" only at Christmas.. Thanks again for great memories..👏💕
What parish was Mrs Forde from?
Christ Church
Happy Independence Day Beautiful Barbados 🇧🇧
You have to explain how the hurricanes winds would cause one to suffocate...
Yes once again I'm number one,,yeah!!!
What a wonderful and informative homage to the splendid churches and historical reformation through the ravages of hurricanes to be rebuilt to beautiful places of worship and burial. I currently live in London and grew up in St John, I attended the local church where both of my parents are buried. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode as a trip down memory lane and riveting history lesson, especially Dr Henderson Carter's contribution to the programme and look forward to many more from him.,perhaps covering the history and ownership of plantations across the island similar to the Roots programme he did on VOB radio with Larry Mayers. That would be excellent along with the visual images of people and plantations plus the genealogical stories would be magnificent. Thanks again.
Time has qualities we attribute to God, imagine just about 2 years after this Mr. Tom Adams Prime Minister of Barbados was dead
Great historical insight, well done
Bless you. Thanks!
