Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility
США
Добавлен 26 апр 2016
Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) is a nonpartisan, independent watchdog that supports and protects U.S. public employees who protect our environment, natural resources, and public health.
We equip and empower public employees who seek a higher standard of environmental ethics, scientific integrity, accountability, and environmental protection within their agencies.
We do this by defending environmental whistleblowers, shining light on improper or illegal government actions, working to improve laws and regulations, and supporting the work of other organizations.
All our services are provided pro bono, without charge. Through PEER, public servants can choose to work as “anonymous activists” so that public agencies must confront the message rather than the messenger.
We work with current and former federal, state, local, and tribal employees.

New Era for the Bureau of Land Management, A PEER Webinar
What fish need to go upstream? Salmon, there aren't any around here. How about Snakeheads and Blue Cats? If you want clean water stop driving your car because the leaking antifreeze and oil and the fuel you spill at the gas station and all the other pollutants are running into the creeks and rivers from your very neighborhood. Not the Dam. The dam is a concrete structure not a polluter. It is not throwing their soda bottles into the river. People do that. Hey boater guy, do you put out absorbent towels and dikes while your fueling your boat? Do you collect your bilge water that has oil and fuel in it and dispose of it properly? No, you just throw your crap overboard. You blame the dam on crap polluting the bay when tons and tons of debris is trapped upstream. By the way thanks to you, you made everyone's electric bill go up by suing the Power company.
Is the idea that if salt attractants aren’t used then the wolves will have a harder time tracking and killing the cattle? It’s crazy that ranchers trump native apex predators. 😢
Deals made behind closed doors? Gee that doesn’t sound like government.
Oh boo hoo, that dam has been there forever. I lived on Shures Landing road in the 70s.
The video made a bunch of vague allusions to problems supposedly caused by the dam, but in the end, it just sounds like someone trying to extract money from the utility company by claiming that all of the trash/debris that comes down the Susquehanna into the Bay is the fault of the dam through which it must pass.
That’s so crazy! I’m looking more into this. But I believe it
I helped build the new turbines that were put in around 08,09.
Remove the dam.
4:25 America is NOT a democracy
It would be cool to know how the anadromous fish would react to an unobstructed Susquehanna
Save the bay
What you ought to do is sue Pennsylvania for the amount of pollution they allow to come down. Force them to put up garbage catching steel mesh nets on the Pa side of the line. You should also go after PA for the amount of fertilizer and chemical pollution in the water.
It's not the civilians,it's the big business and electric cars will make this worse
Nice video, but I couldn't tell what people expect the dam owner/power company to do. Are they responsible for the trash, debris, and sediment that comes down the river? When construction, development, etc upstream ruins your pond, is the pond owner to blame? Maybe the lawsuit should focus on the source of the pollution.
Commenting for the algorithm. Thank you guys.
It is not about money. It is about clean water. Not about money. Lawyers want money
This video should be seen by everyone. It's amazing how crony capitalism and petty politics can undo every bit of progress we make to a better planet.
Another “The rich need to pay their fair” complaint. I noticed there wasn’t a single mention of all those folks the dam is providing electric for. In any case, what is the damn were gone tomorrow, would the same water and debris not come down the river?
The price to electrify is a costly one even if its carbon free like hydroelectric. When every home in the USA is solar paneled you can get rid of these dams. In the meantime I would concentrate on the sewage plants that spew poo every rainstorm. They are the main pollution producers. Go after them my electric bill is 3 times what it was before covid hit.
Add to this the MPA efforts (in collaboration with MDE) to greenwash contaminated Baltimore Harbor dredge management. Now they want to use "Confined Aquatic Disposal" - a fancy term for dumping - to stripmine the outer Patapsco for sand to make their reuse projects look cost effective and then fill the holes they create in the river close to Anne Arundel residential shorelines with contaminated harbor dredge. And they're selling this as a green solution. In reality, it's an ecological disaster with potential human health impacts. We've been trying to fight - even pushing legislation to investigate it (SB353/HB886) - but it was killed by the MD House Environment and Transportation Committee without real explanation. We've now created a volunteer citizens environmental advocacy coalition for AA Patapsco communities because there are SO many polluters here.
Hi this is David Bellows. Wanted to visit you. I'm passing thru
This is pretty inaccurate and I also question the timeline. That range is tinder dry during summer and early fall. Theres nothing lush green like that during that time from. Tinder dry and notorious for gnarly forest fires. I know this area very well as I’ve pounded this brush for over 25 years. Seen wolves and got trail pics of them. The wolf population has exploded across that kettle range and the effects are certainly noticed on the other animal species populations.
I don't know who runs the EPA but its a sham to me.
We need to also hold Pennsylvania and New York accountable as well! We end up with all of their trash and then it runs through the dam!
It’s coming down every river in the world not an exclusive issue for Conowingo.
I wish you could be heard by more people and that politicians finally understand it is necessary to build those platforms ! It's so sad. If there is no petrol there is no interest. This is the sad world where we live in 😢
Thank you for your efforts Ben. Also, I love your guest role on the Bill Nye the Science Guy show. You did such a great job of explaining river erosion, one of my 6th grade science units. Thank you for being an amazing scientist who is standing up to just TELL THE TRUTH!!
Gah, that's crazy.
Which is the lie? Your title says exterminated, your description says near-exterminated. Why should anyone believe anything you say when you blatantly lie at the start.
Cows and wolves don't mix. What philosophy is this that takes one species to task for the woes of the other species of a kingdom that some of his own kind deny him a place? Does the Lion concern himself with gazelle issues?
Is it just the rubber padding stuff added? I have turf in a shed we use as a gym and family room, but do not have anything added like the little rubble balls, it's just used like carpet
When wolves were reintroduced to the now modern landscape conflict was inevitable.
All roads lead down to town
Was there ever a study on the impacts of wolf recolonization across WA state? This is for general knowledge.
Long live the Grey Wolf!
Some years back a 3G sports field was installed 90ft from and 30ft hire than our then wonderful pond/lake paradise and home for all local wildlife--now it is a toxic soup. They lied on the PP App saying no watercourse was nearby. Other lies on flood risk assessment and lies on the Biodviserity Issues. All our compliants have gone around in circles these past years. We too are concerned that the kids inhale the same chemicals which get into the water table beneath the 3G pitch and then into our pond/lake. My test show that chemicals sweat out of each tyre granule and form a toxic brittle crust and this brittle crust is shattered into micro-tyre chemical dust by pounding of boots and other crushing thuds such as diving for teh ball, and this micro-dust is inhaled about 100 times a minute by 10, of 1000s of kids, everyday in the UK, so that the healthy grass sports fields, made redundant by toxic 3`g sports fields, can be sold off for millions to developer chums. Full evil story on request. We need help to prove our case. We need a Lab, environmentalist, geologist and a full legal team to sue the culprits who are poisoning the environment all over the UK not just our pond/lake-and to sue for them are deliberately exposing children to cancer chemicals, which will only result in shortening their lives. The evidence is in our poisoned pond/lake here in Tenterden UK TN30 6EL next to Homewood Schools very toxic 3G pitch.
Thank you for this work. This is something that everyone should look at. "Many factors impact rangeland health- off road vehicles, drought, the spread of invasive species and fire. However, BLM identifies livestock grazing as the most frequently cited cause of range failure." I wish more people could be honest about this. The state of the rangeland is the heart of the West, surely? And watched by all the world.
Does more good than harm. Sounds like we need more of it.
Tell that to all the people of Parkersburg.
To ask again , any way how long ago is this thing taking places and how is it the rancher misdeed in grazing his cattle on to a public site and all the innocent wolf were mowed down (exterminated like insects) to the indignations of animal lover please can vouched for a little explanation concerning these event and it was the wild life management department doing this dirty job of killing away those. Poor wolves and much remonstrance has been voices. Please post your explanation to me any one
Those ranchers. Any way who killed off all those wolf pack and why was my comment previous to this one is being deleted please tell me who ever filmed this clip what further action has been taken if hunting wolf in that area around profanity peaks is not permitted. Is that rancher a very well of person above middle classes that he got away Scott free still the fish and wild life should be after him for a little injunction
keep up the good work… The people polluting this planet since the beginning of time have known exactly what they're doing and cared absolutely nothing… This planet is already extremely toxic. Don't forget were losing living species by the hundreds every single day… Lakes are dead globally… Who knows what you have eaten

Great video. This is so sad and really brings home how important your work is.
Very simple explanation of what PEER's analysis of BLM data shows. We need to improve our management of public lands.
If you wish, you can learn how to cure any disease by simply taking Weedborn CBD.
We will never be rid of cancer with this stuff that 3M Dupont and others use daily.....
Make the industry pay in a fund for third party study. Polluters pay principle
BLM are a bunch of communist. They are stealing the land that belongs to all Americans. Shut them down, and arrest every employee for being communist. Communist Act of 1954

thank you so much for this video, as our local school board has plans to replace the grass fields with artificial turf so this is important information for us
Thank you so much, for this. Our local school board has decided to replace the grass on our sports fields with artificial turf and this is important information for their consideration before installing it.
This makes me so sick. These arrogant, selfish, ignorant farmers and hunters.... I just can't wrap my mind around it. Makes me embarrassed to be a human. There's absolutely no reason why we can't live in harmony with our environment. When farmers say There's no way to stop the wolves from killing their livestock.... they ARE LYING. Hunters use the "red ribbon" Technique to hunt wolves all the time. It's very effective because wolves are terrified of the red ribbon. They won't cross the ribbon, go under it, nor jump over it...... so the red ribbon technique works for hunting, yet not for keeping wolves away from livestock???
STOP THE SLAUGHTER OF WILD HORSES!!!!
