How To Build An Awesome Console Table For Your Entryway
It is free on the website, but I'm not giving up my phone number for it.
Put in a fake number 🤷♂️. Not that big of a deal.
Man i learned the hard way not to FAFO on what a jigsaw will do to you. Get some clamps.
Amazing job man❤
Not free! You're charging for it.
It's corrected on my website.
This vid is so cool I liked it and subscribe
It’s so cool how you make stuff like that I can’t even do it
Cool😎🥶
You are so talented
Really cool😎
That is huge but really cool
Omg how did you make this that is so cool my sis tee needs that she has a ps5
😎 cool
😎
Your talent is so cool I wish I could do what you do how cool it it is😊
I greatly appreciate that! To be honest, I'm a beginner myself so my skillset isn't the greatest. I just keep trying.
Great video! You really turned a work bench that was in a really rough shape into something super nice, and showed how to do it with all the obstacles you faced.
Thank you!! I appreciate that!
All i needed to see, off to buy one. Thanks bob
Hey Bob! I'll come along and watch the rebuild. Looks like you have loads of space. Why not double the size? Anyhow, I've subsribled now see how things come along. Hello from the UK good buddy! 🍻
I wish I could double the size (doing what I can with the money I have lol). I appreciate the support regardless! We all know going down this rabbit hole can be a dangerous thing 😂
@@backyardbobwoodworks good luck my friend and happy thanks giving x
Keep it up mate. Always good to see progress with fellow craftsmen who are growing what they do.
I appreciate it! Doing what I can with what I have.
That's my boy
You know it bro! I'm trying lol
Has your press ever stopped working? I used mine, which is the same one you have, and I think I may have tried to drill a bit too harshly and now the thing won't turn. The light still works but the belt is not moving, meaning I can't get anything done.
Hmm, maybe yours burnt up. I've had mine stop drilling if I use too much pressure but keeps going when I let up.
I like it, I want to make something like this too, but I always wonder how long would a workbench that sits outside will last, how long did you have your previous table outside?
Before I redid it, I had it for 3 years with absolutely nothing pretecting it (other than being pressure treated). A shorter lifespan is expected, the name of the game. The worst part is movement from moisture. Any project I need things perfectly square I will place a piece of ply on top to work on.
Nice work!
Thanks!
Great video, so glad you show when it doesn't work as planned rather than it being perfect every time, makes it real!
Absolutely!
That cheesy plastic depth stop busted the first time I looked at it funny. After it broke into three pieces, I told it a few things about its momma. After a lot of poking around the internet looking at dozens of replacements, NONE of which would fit, I finally found some dude in Texas who makes and sells a machined (or maybe 3D printed) aluminum part for $35. Installed one on mine and it works just fine.
Can i drill dowel holes in 2x12's to make tabletops? I am thinking i mas need to turn the base around and bolt it to the workbench and hang the head hang off of the work bench and work with a lower table to rest the work piece on it?
I would say no it wouldn't be able to do that. I'm sure if you got creative you could manage. But I can't suggest doing it any other way than what it was intended for. Need a bigger model or a portable drill press attachment for your drill.
Maybe fill the ends with scrap 3/4 and screw on a 1/4 inch plywood top full length.
I think it turned out fine. With the imperfections you will be more likely to actually use it roughly. At least I would.
Yeah since having it, the top has warped (to be expected). So it's my vehicle maintenance or smashing table lol
All of the "over-the-top" RUclipsrs-- which is about 90% of 'em all-- could learn a lesson from this video. Simple, direct, not overly preachy combined with a great dry sense of humor. Good job.
FINALLY a simple and solid work bench. Thanks!
Glad you like it!
I just finished a workbench after watching your video. Thank you. drive.google.com/file/d/168Y3x0zSuLukbo9peFF1gX4LoFGJ-S1N/view?usp=drive_link
So easy to miscalculate and cut too short. I've done it too many times. As an amateur, it happens to often but it is an opportunity to improvise and solve the problem created. All good, mate. Thanks for not covering up this mistake and being honest that crap happens.
Yeah, it's definitely easy to make mistakes, but I find that to be one of the best parts. It teaches you lessons and problem solving. Unfortunately, I didn't care to fix the problem in this case, but I have for other projects..many times lol. Appreciate the support! Happy building!
You have a good design there, what you could do is notch the 4x4 to fit your 2x4 and shorten your upper stretchers to fit.
Thanks bud , was wondering I should do a table 👍
really like this one - i've watched probably like ten videos and this is the best design. nothing fancy. Thank you!
I appreciate it!! There are definitely a thousand ways to make a bench, but sometimes simple is the way to.
Been looking around for DIY bench vids. Finally found yours. No flash, no BS, and you show how to get a workbench going without having to have a bunch of fancy tools or showing off. Embracing your screwup and taking it and rolling with it. Yup subscribed. Eager to see what else you do.
That's awesome! Appreciate it friend! Somebody has to stand up for us smaller guys trying to make it happen.
Easy fix, pull 12 screws, cut 3" off the stretchers and screw it back together.
True, but I embrace my mistakes and in this case I didn't see the need to make it perfect.
@@backyardbobwoodworks I appreciate that, and wish I sometimes had that attitude. Unfortunately I'm a neat freak, and it often bites me in the butt
Hey a driver, a circular saw, a tape measure , the only thing special was the chop saw, nice to watch a video and not see 10 thousand in tools the average doesn’t have or even need. To make a solid work bench that will do everything the average person does.
How well does it drill through steel
I haven't drilled through anything crazy yet, just 1/8" steel. It did fine for me. Good bits, slow speed, and keeping the bit cool does the trick.
I like it. Thanks for the ideas.
Thank you! I'm glad it helped out.
Good video. I understood every brit
Words are hard lol. Appreciate the support!
love the video gave me a idea for me to build one like it .
I appreciate that! Having a mobile bench definitely comes in handy.

I like the way you think
I appreciate it! Nobody's perfect and it's not always about perfection. Just get out there and make something.

Thanks brother.
Not to be a dick, but I was hoping you would give us a demo so we could hear/see it run. I already read the info on the product page and I feel like that's all this vid covered. Still giving it a thumbs up though, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the video Bob. I just bought one and put it together today. It's my first one because I just started woodworking and for 69 bucks, I said what the hell. I have one problem that I hope you can help me with. I tried it with the speed it came (in the middle rings). I tried making a 1" hole with it and it stopped a quarter of the way through. I had to lift up the bit, wait for it to start up again and continued. This happened every time. Then I tried setting it at a higher speed. Same problem. Should I try setting the speed like you have it at the bottom rings? Thank you.
The drill is a little under powered. Were you using a forstner bit? I have to take bites at a time with those..especially on bigger holes. I figured it was to be expected with the machine. It's not something I use everyday so I'm okay with some things taking a little longer.
@@backyardbobwoodworks Thanks for getting back to me. I did put in on the lowest speed and it helped. Drill bits I had no problem with but with the forstner bits, I took it slow. Thanks again.
