Great info, thx. To measure the length of you pants, simply stand on the measuring tape and pull the top to your waist. From there you can follow it down and see the correct length.

Replace those old stretched out measuring tapes! I had no idea what was going on with my projects until I finally figured out that there were certain parts of my tape measure had been stretched out. Throw it out! Buy new. Purchase many to be sure.

Hello, thank you for uploading this video. Just one question, you mentioned back crotch extension measurement to be 1/4 hip + 2 cm, isnt that tooo much, did you mean 1/4 of distance between point 5 and 8 + 2cm???

This was very helpful. Thank you. Years ago I made my first pants pattern using Helen Armstrong's patternmaking book. I have made many pants using that pattern. I did only one foundation and never looked back. Am interested in doing it again and exploring the other foundations.

what if i add 10cm ease on my hip and use slack foundation, will that make it a trouser foundation? since i gave it ease?, if their crotch extention is calculated based on the hip circumferance me adding ease to hip will also affect the foundation right? i am a bit confused can somebody explain me this please

I've been on an obsessive pants pattern drafting/fitting journey and I was mostly focused on DP STUDIO' s method and Apparel Arts production. I would suggest you try DP's method since you like custom accurate measurements and tighter fit. I also have a question, in the methods you talked about, where do they place the crease line/grain-line at the crotch line? Is it in the middle including extension or in the middle without the extension?

Tried this foundation today and it fits perfectly. If I want to make an elastic waistband instead of a zippper, should I only remove darts or add some ease in waist too?

The real silk would not make you sweaty. But real one is so expensive! Most of the silk items people wear are actually polyester or viscose. Poly will def make you super sweaty 😅

Can I ask if I have made a trouser pattern that has darts but I want to adjust it to turn it into jeans how do I remove the front darts as jeans don't have any darts. I know how to change the back to add a yoke but have no idea about the front. Thank you x

No offense to ChatGBT but I think you might be a some kind of Winter not an Autumn. Maybe a dark Winter, in which case some dark Autumn colors might also work. I went back and watched your summer capsule wardrobe video, and I personally think you look much better in the white dress compared to the off-white shirt. Add to that is the fact that most of the colors you wear seem to be cool-toned. People often (but not always) naturally gravitate to the colors that work best for them. Maybe a good topic for a video?! :)
