Cataracts: What can you do about them?
you can just opt out of it..........
I’ve had glasses ever since I was 15 I had 2 pairs of glasses but I used to pack a lot of things in my backpack in elementary school and Highschool and they both broke and both were my favourites even though I didn’t wear them a lot but I’m getting new ones in September because jwen I was at the eye doctors on Monday my disability money didn’t cover the cost of my new pair of Gucci glasses because now I’m only getting 1 pair instead of 2 because I’m an adult I’m 21 turning 22 in May of next year but my mom has to put the cost of my glasses through her insurance because my ODSP- Ontario Disability Support Program) it’s a program that helps people with disabilities receive money from the government every month and they hardly cover the cost of my favourite pair of glasses but soon as it goes through my mom said that we will go and pick them up from my eye doctors office and also I love Optometry now because when I was at the eye doctor I had a different kind of experience with my eye doctor because this time I had a male doctor because my eye doctor Dr. Susan Buxton she recently had foot surgery so she’s only seeing a couple patients a day and I had a male doctor instead and he was so amazing I had a great experience this time around I think I’m going to switch doctors because I’ve been seeing my moms eye doctor Dr. Susan Buxton ever since I was a kid and that was my moms eye doctor growing up and we’ve been going to see Dr. Susan Buxton ever since the 20000s and I still go and see her but I’m going to stay there because I had an amazing experience and also I’m now thinking of listing my optometrists office for my college Co- Op placement because I’m starting college in September at Fanshawe College here in Canada 🇨🇦 I’m taking a special needs course called called CICE- Community Integration Through Co- Op Education Program) it’s a program that helps people with disabilities get jobs wherever they would like to work and there’s 4 courses you can take: Business, Photography, ECE- Early childhood educator ) - I’ve chosen this one as my second option because I love little ones and also I’ve taken my Highschool parenting courses like 10 times with one of my favourite teachers Mrs. Hagle at Regina mundi Catholic college RMC) and also I’ve taken a YMCA babysitters course after school at my elementary school st. Francis Catholic elementary school ) , cooking like culinary skills - I’ve taken cooking classes in Highschool with my other favourite teacher who’s now retired Mrs. Bacon - Davies she’s retired as of 2022. and also there’s Office Adminsitration- I’ve chosen this one as my first option because I love Dentistry 🦷🦷 and also Optometry 👓🤓 👁️ I’m either thinking to work for my orthodontist Dr. Drew Smith of Smith Orthodontics but my mentor from Leads Employment Services it’s an agency that helps people with disabilities get jobs and he told me that my orthodontist had said that his new office is too small but yet he’s hired 2 new dental assistants / 1 hygienist as of last year alone and also he’s retiring soon I’m going to miss him because he’s been my orthodontist ever since I was 7 because my family dentists Dr. Susan and Jen Rumble of South London Dental Care Centre had recommended me and my dad to go and see him because he’s a popular orthodontist in my city of London, Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 and also my mentor had told me that my oral surgeons office was interested in having me because I had a great experience getting all 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed on Thursday, April 18th 2024 and my surgeon was really nice his name is Dr. Kerr of Interface Oral Surgery Centre and also my mentor told me that they were interested in having me I’m so excited and also I’m thinking my optometrists office to work with my favourite new eye doctor Dr. Jason Hutchinson of Byron Optometry and also my parents back in the 20000s used to have a house near my optometrists office but my dads parents now live close to my optometrists office just up the street and also I used to live right down the street. and also I’ve been with my eye doctor Dr. Susan Buxton if Byron Optometry since I was 5 and my mom just told me the other day that she was the one who had diagnosed with me a Developmental/ Learning Disability and also in elementary school they had done multiple tests to diagnose with me with a Developmental/ Learning Disability. he’s Canada 🇨🇦 and United States trained and he’s really nice I even wrote a review on google soon as I got home after my appointment. but I’m so excited to start college and also on the day of my glasses pick up appointment I’m going to celebrate with a Starbucks coffee drink and I’m also going to give my optometrist a Starbucks gift card because I had bought Starbucks gift cards for my oral surgeon and my oral surgery assistants / recovery nurses to say thank you for helping me during my surgery and also I’m going to give one to my optometrist as a thank you because I really had a good time and also I love my new glasses. 🤗🩷👁️🤓👓💐 @ Eye Care In Focus
This was very detailed. Keep it up doctor!! 👨⚕️
i really want to work as a optometrist, im a Medical Tecnhologist in Ophtalmology & Optometry, is a carrer from Chile and some others countrys, we do the same, my dream is to work in Canada in a few years
Well explained
🤣🫠🤣🤣🤣🤣this one is a soooo truth!!!!! Dad glasses!!!! Great job
Improve vision with a minus lens.
great vid
The most important thing is when you LOVE what you do , particularly you will never get enough of
I’m a emt
can you give muscle building advice next

I’m a current optometric technician, and I love everything in this video. Everything is straight to the point, and actually details why we look at what we look at with the eye. I’m looking at becoming an optometrist, and I highly anticipate my future endeavors.
Thank you for the awesome video!! It was so enlightening, educational and inspiring!
I am wondering if my eye was too close to the machine.
I have no interest in becoming an optometrists however I never understood why there is such a huge disparity in price between my local independent optometrist and retail. This is probably it. Retail I’m in and out of the chair in 10 minutes, maybe less. There is no real exam. Thanks
Pretty on the mark. Ive recently got my first set of prescription reading glasses 🤓 and I'm 42.
I’ve failed some pre requisite courses like chemistry of solutions, maybe cal II coming up… I was just swamped with classes though
I have glaucoma and need that puff tonometry and the "blue light special" applanation tonometry done every 4-6 months.
Yea that’s what the back of my eyes look like. Thanks mom and dad lol! Informative video though Doc! Thanks.
He's literally so hot love the info tho <3
Thanks so much this gave me more detailed info than my work experience I did on optometry.
Thank you doc ! This was very informative and interesting ! Looking into Optometry but I didn’t know it’s 8 years I thought only 4 ?!?!
I believe you get a 4-year Bachelor’s degree then go to Optometry school for 4 years. So 4+4 years.
Only if you're in the US or Canada. Most other countries and universities don't require 4 years Bachelor's degree
This couldnt be more on point hahaha music is bomb too. Also is he single? This doc is fine as hell
I am an Optometrist. On the contrary of your view towards people not taking good care of their eyes, I love hearing my recurring clients complains of their eyes often because more money can be made. In fact, I would intentionally prescript my clients with slight deviations which is enough for them to come back to make another pair of glasses within 2 - 3 months. I do this at least 3 times yearly for every client. Additionally, I would always find fault in them for not taking good care of their eyes while encouraging them to upgrade their lens quality (honestly, it is redundant and expensive), giving them a perceived assurance of their eyes being well protected. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, IT MUST BE FUNNY. IT IS THE RICH MAN'S WORLD.
I havent study in too long
(-_-;)
I don't think I could do nothing all day..... Altho for 120k/year, maybe....
You think this is nothing? You might wanna look into nursing, then.
post more its veryhelpful
Hello Doctor Handsome, may I ask why some people closed their eyes and happens that their eyelids are wiggling or shaking?
It’s a air shotgun
I'm very confused to chose b/n optiometry and Ansteshia plsssss...help me
The first time I did that the doctor didn't warn me... The second time I did it the doctor told me it was another machine...
My doctor dinose me with glaucoma in the eyes. I have to use eye drops everyday.
Air puff machine is jumpscare
There is a special place in hell for the person who invented this
It looks like a lot of people did not know that even the wrong eye drops given for the wrong eye condition even pink eye can lead to blindness which may not be the optometrist fault as they are not only a doctor of eyeglasses because they do not perform eye surgeries like opthalmologist since people are so specific, most should at least know the theories of angles of reflection and refraction according to Sir Isaac Newton in middle and high school for those who did not even graduate high school and assume equally intelligent with at least some eye doctors!
Hi, I have large cup to disc ratio 0.6 and my optometrist said it’s normal and born with large optic nerves. My optometrist takes fundus pictures every year and monitor it and didn’t do any other tests. Is OCT exam required or fundus pictures helps checking damage? He checks my pressure via slit lamp which comes in normal range all the time
Please : can do these explain whith writng beside talking ,we can't understand all speach ,so he say very quicly and the accent not for us .
Hi Doctor thank you so much for your explanation, but, I would like to ask you about that happen to my mom after the NCT exam, after 5 days of have it my mom still have a sensation in one eye that something is there even my mom has not different the view, is it normal? Should we do something about it? Can be happening something during that puff air in one air maybe it was stronger one that in other? The doctor said to my mom that everything was good in the eye. What you can advice to us? I really appreciate so much for your support, I am very nervous that something wrong can be happened during that exam to my mom.
@@likifamily1957 they told me my eye was ok and I am now blind in one eye, never had any of these problems before going into an optometrist in australia. It is beyond shocking.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Why is it when i take off my glasses that it feels like my right eye is moving towards my nose? And why do i feel like my muscles are working hard to keep that eye straight?
Thank you for this!!! It really made my mind up for me for the most part… I have always had eye troubles growing up, and I have always been fascinated to know what is going on with someone’s eyes in certain circumstances. So thank you for the educational video!
Latanoprost is the prescription eye drop but I've noticed when I apply the my eyes lid it's swell up and became puffy could that possibly be an allergic reaction to the eye drop
Is it better to get the pressure down before you have a cataract surgery
Thx si much man, this video si Věry helpfull for my future
