The Gladiator - Doom Eternal Evil Challenge
One of the hardest fights I have encountered through my challenge run of Doom Eternal on Nightmare difficulty. I occasionally stream a challenge run on www.twitch.tv/paletz
I have not included the full first phase since it is just a dull introduction of the boss.
The Evil Dead challenge run rules:
Weapons are restricted to shotgun & chainsaw.
Weapon-like gear is not allowed - no belch, no nades, no swords

Sorry to necro this, but does the status of the signal itself determine which resource will spawn there? I just got Pharm Isolators from an Expansion signal in an Outbreak system.
Your observation suggests the game just displays one of the faction's states but the materials spawn based on the full set of states. From my experience, the game tries to be helpful by displaying faction states in many UI elements and it often simplifies the situation to just one state despite there being multiple states active.
@@paletz Ah I see. I think I understand. So, for example, if a system displays "Outbreak" in the Galaxy map, and if all the High-grade signals belonging to the controlling faction inside spawn with "Expansion" state, the Isolators can still spawn at those HGEs? I suppose by extension, it would also mean ANY signal flagged with the controlling faction could spawn Isolators, right? Regardless of the state of the signal itself? Lastly, I only just found your tool last night after spending the past two days looking (unsuccessfully) for isolators. My success rate immediately increased using your tool. Thank you so much. I'll be sharing it with all my friends.

I recently found out the digtoise method has become my favorite. At lvl 19, acquire the digtoise headband and use him to chew apart ore clusters. It’s saved me so much time and finger pain from just mining them by hand lol
I'll look into it, but it will take me some time because I have restarted from scratch because the first playthrough was with a big group of people and we just blitzed through everything... until I had to take a break :) I tried Mammorest, it has tornadoes that can hit multiple ore nodes at the same time. I wonder if any Pal can one-shot ore nodes if upgraded enough.
Wow! Great video, you're very underrated! If i could provide feedback it would be please turn down the game audio just a little, there's moments where i can't hear you because of the explosions in quake lol.
Apologies, I had several sources each with different volume so it was very hard to get the levels right.
That's why they force you to play in teams. Beacon. Less time to reinforce
Indeed, beacons and squad-spawn vehicles increase the intensity of fights. And none of that works in containment sites.
We are ready to fight anyhour anytime.
Not lock ons but tank bullets do.
I am going to try using thermal shock for piracy, i think i will make a space trucker overheat so they dont move much, use hatch breakers, profit. thanks for the info <3

Good play those maxes are strong nice way to obliterate the enemy.
They are not nearly as OP as they used to be. Back then NC had slugs, maxes could be revived and nobody had pocket orbital strikes :)

eddb.io is now defunct but I was able to switch over to edsm.net.
For scramble spectrum, sometimes the NPC's thrusters go offline too so it's really helpful!

I haven't heard of any reason why it shouldn't, I don't see why Frontier would need to touch Probes at this point, but they do sometimes work in mysterious ways. If you can successfully loot other items mentioned and just didn't get any probes, it could be down to luck.
They need more training.. As NC, they should have known that the only correct solution would have been to shoot you. Also acceptable would be that they all tried to shoot you and shot each other while getting in the way trying to shoot you. Bonus checks for revive and reshoot.
Not sure if it helps, but at one point one guy tried to destroy the barrier while another started repairing it :)

Nah, not possible in the game. It didn't even deter the attacking Liberator, it killed our Galaxy shortly after. The noobtube was a desperate measure on my part, we were outgunned hard. I guess the lucky hit made it a much more even fight though, it's not something you can just shrug off.
And now, after another update, it appears the non-legacy Horizons version uses the same planet surfaces as Oddysey. So all my coordinates are likely outdated unless you play on Legacy Horizons (and I haven't tested that either). You can still use Detailed Surface Scanner to reveal the navpoints.

Apologies CMDR, Frontier made this unnecessarily complicated but you can still get your sensors. The Odyssey and Horizons surfaces are different, resulting in a "slight" shift of the "Crashed Thargoid Ship" (that's the nav point name) from -35.012; -141.384 (Horizons) to -7.336; -6.277 (Odyssey). The Odyssey version is not found within a huge and treacherous crater but on a somewhat plain... plain.

This is very good, trying to track down what TS does thru years of updates and forums and wiki comments is a real pain. I’ve been running 3 large efficient pulse lasers with TS and sometimes I’ll swear its working and others it seems its not. Interesting that large ships will cook themselves with cells, I’ve found that as well. They don’t seem to bug out and not fire anymore in my experience but they will hold the rails and PAs. You should do super penetration for rail guns next, I swear it doesn’t do anything.
Super pen you can test quite well against npcs, once their shields drop, target their drives when they are facing you and fire away. If works as intended, you should be able to damage the drives through the entire length of the ship. (And any modules along that path)
@@kaizaki9148 I’ve never noticed it damage drives from the front and I’ve heard that it’s only 75% of the length of a ship, though I think I can hit a Chieftain’s engines twice (one of only a couple ships to have 4 thrusters). Also NPCs seem to either run all hull or all module reinforcements, if they run the latter you’ll never kill a module before their hull is slag.
This answers a lot of my questions in regards to Thermal Shock quite well, it’s good to know my initial idea of 2 thermal shock beams was the ideal, want to run them alongside a scramble burst laser in my chieftain
Scramble can occasionally disable the Drives of the enemy leaving them dead in the water as it were. As it is random, and only one subsystem can be affected at a time, you’ll rarely see it though.
I'm wondering if drives are special in any way because ships have multiple targettable drives but on the other hand they are reported as a single module. More research needed :)

the beacons are the total opposite of what they should be. beacons should be a long cooldown tactical tool, but because of wrel's s%%ty long sundy respawns, and ridiculous instant beacon respawns people are using beacons as the main spawn point. wrel used to play the game, how did he become so out of touch...
There was a period of time a few years ago when beacons also had zero respawn time. I think we assumed it was a bug :)

This is some contradictory logic and reasoning on behalf of DBG/RPG. 1.) First of all, in one of their recent updates from the other day, they admitted that the *_real_* reason they did this was for server load issues. Which... is plausible. Given the fact that I've been experiencing even worse server performance since Oshur dropped (granted, I'm on Emerald, so... server issues are given anyways with that thing), I'm skeptical. 2.) "We want vehicles and other methods other than redeploy to be strengthened." [NERFS THE HELL OUT OF ROUTERS AND MAKES THEM ABSOLUTELY AND UTTERLY WORTHLESS] Fun Fact: Some no-deploy/no-build areas around bases are larger than the radius of the router's range. Meaning that you'd somehow have to build a base inside a no-build area just to get it to reach the base. Brilliant decision, guys. 3.) "We want to lessen Redeployside 2 meta". Really now? Because now all you have to do is have a parked cloaked Sundy deploy on the lattice territory or have a Lodestar crash near the point and have the entire server redeploy in. It's worth pointing out that they cite going back to the previous ~2018 system, without also admitting or realizing that what made that system so restrictive is it didn't even you allow to deploy on Sundies in certain areas or a certain distance from where you died. Also, their point is ENTIRELY undone by making squad spawn beacons literally super powered and having the fastest deploy timer or anything other than lucking your way into instant action where you want to go. I've seen more redeploys on squad beacon spawns and consequent MAX crashes since Oshur dropped than I have in years. I swear, this contradictory game mechanics design philosophy since Wrel got into the development of the game can't be a coincidence. And I'm getting tired of seeing it, and even more tired of dealing with it. But, hey, at least I'm not getting run over by cloaked ANTs - which was about as rare as getting killed by fireworks launchers; now sure, I'm still run over at least once every time I boot up PS2 by a cloaked Flash whenever I engage in a base fight where a Flash could POSSIBLY get inside it... But whatever. "Working As Intended".
Regarding your third point: Yeah, I'd like to mess with that on one of our ops nights - just maintain stealth sunderer on each frontline base and see how it impacts the performance of the whole empire.
@@paletz I've actually seen small scale scenarios of that happening, mostly bad accident resulting from a zerg. About a week ago there was a particularly large TR zerg courtesy of PIGS (of course) on Hossin and we ended up getting a lot of territory. I go to respawn and... I just see dozens of Sundies all over the map. People had gotten Sundies there for the zerg, deployed them, and moved on and just left their Sundy there. As a consequence just about every lattice territory we had recently had a fight on had a deployed Sunderer on it. Of course, due to the time limit on an unoccupied vehicle you're talking 15-20 minutes tops of this happening before this despawns. Unless someone is willing to just sit in the vehicle that entire time.
It would be enough to refresh the timer by entering each vehicle once in a while. Annoying upkeep... is this the logistics gameplay we are looking for? :)

This is a really good in-depth look at thermal shock! I have an Eagle with a pair of rapid thermal shock pulses. NPCs boost a lot less, though they still use PAs and SCBs.
Excellent video Cmdr. You've explained this effect very well. I'm a fan of thermal shock and have used it in PVP once with success. This was against a gimballed multi-cannon Mamba with incendiary experimental. His modules cooked that much that he encountered thruster malfunction before his shields dropped. Indeed. Right now in 3.8, CIG even gave everyone a free Freelancer, to allow players to recover from a bug. You could say "there is a bug for free Freelancer".
DBG should hire you on contract to fix this! (and maybe some other stuff too while you're at it lol)

Yeah. I've been told you can "hack" some doors with a rail gun. I have to try that and 3.7, but I have been busy in other games :)
Yes, and now - as a Sniper who flew a valkarie over the top of the tower to get a perfect sniping spot - or sitting outside a point fully cloaked - as soon as I kill one person - I will , within 15 seconds - have some light assault flying up to remove my beacon and turn on his fleshlight to come find me - yea... i love the death cam ....NOT. They already had an Area locator on your death screen that gave you a general direction of the kill as well as Tracer fire on every shot. Yes, something new players will have to learn how to deal with - but they are new - I have always hated Kill Cams for just that reason.

Hard to say. There were some crippling server performance issues that surfaced after I recorded this. But it seems like those are mostly fixed now. I ran into only two issues on Sunday. First - I couldn't login for five minutes, but then I had a pleasant three hour session. Second - whenever I ADSed with 3.4x scope Promise and turned on NMG my FPS dropped a lot. Quite specific, isn't it? If you can't stomach occasional bug, then wait a couple weeks.

Very interesting .. Frontier can certainly NOT make a good game - "An empty game without content" But even that their boring space simulation does not comply with the laws of physics surprises me in no way. Not even that they can make right. But maybe in 10 years they succeed ;) - only maybe !
