Hello would you please tell me what work needs to be done to fit that engine in to the xs as I have an xs and a 106 gti engine box loom and ecu but would like to no what engine mounts shafts wiring needs to be cut and joined any information would be appreciated thanks

This project will be pure driving thrills. I live in my van and on the same street a young lad lives in a 205 GTI 1.9 he sleeps in it and it’s very good condition.

Cometic head gaskets are known to delaminate If used for more than a year They are meant to be used in race engines that are rebuilt at least once a year I know several people that have had issues of them loosing water or loosing compression

Could it be a valve clearance issue? I have no knowledge of the mi16, do they use shims like the XU 8 valve?

Can’t rotating the crank without the head disturb the liners?

I have used Injectortune a couple of times previously, what I liked is that they send you a before and after cleaning fuel flow chart. They come back with new seals ready to fit. Definately worth a look.

Great engine , I have a similar engine in my 1007 , it is a superb engine in operation, capable of driving calmly and quietly but like a wolf in sheep's clothing , has a strong Rorty powerful character when pushed. One of Peugeot's best efforts.
