Yeeaaahhhhhh, i used this method years ago playing alone, with more people it become a pure mess, you can make a portal per person in the main home, and kinda work, but i like to have portals linked all the time anyway

have a better one im using for all 6 biomes at spawn ..... bSpugh3dd1 ,,,,,,and if your looking for a GOOD boss map to do all your boss fights on with a base in the center ish .... where all 6 bosses are conveniently located .....try .... We used to be able to rename and run through quickly as you show here - I found that to be a FEATURE not a bug! This allows you to do a one-time dial.. You can dial a gate and rename it only to slip through before it takes effect. This has since been patched away. Im working on figuring out how to mod the portal mechanics to revert it back. If i am renaming an active portal, I through in a FALSE name first to trigger a disconnect, then I input the destination dial, then upon connection I rename it back to the map-listed name and hop through before the connection drops once again. This is hard to explain in words, but it results in even *less* portal usage than cited here. Basically the TL;DR is that you can "close the door behind you" and not have to keep portals active all the time. This allows far less portal usage since you can use ANY portal to reach ANY portal. This is the behavior that has been patched out... and that which I am going to mod back in ;)

Another option, starting with maybe core wood. Though stone looks better. Meadows biome: Leave space for portals until you need them, then place them when you need them. Compass Portal hub: Four portals in the center: Home, Hub 1, Hub 2, Hub 3. (Hub 1-3 are backup portals incase one you forget to unclog one.) First row: Five portals north, stairs, five portals east, stairs, five portals south, stairs, five portals west, stairs. Stairs lead up to a second row. Second row: Six portals north, stairs, six portals east, stairs, six portals south, stairs, six portals west, stairs. Stairs lead up to a third row. However, you can either swap one portal or one set of stairs as a downward stairs. This frees up more room to build portals for rarely visited places by building underneath the second and third rows. Third row: seven portals north, stairs, seven portals east, stairs, seven portals south, stairs, seven portals west, stairs. Build a dirt wall for defense. Maybe add a moat on the outside of the moat to be extra-safe. (Especially on sides near a hill going up, but ideally the spot would be fairly level; though I know that isn't always an option) If at any point you need to have more than 55 portals (Plus the less-used under-portals and emergency 1-3 Hub portals), build a fourth row using the stairs by building up from the existing dirt wall. Then build a new dirt wall for defense. (Or build the dirt wall first after measuring how much room the fourth row will require. If you're paranoid, like me.) You would theoretically be expanding the portal hub once at most. Don't forget to decorate your portal hub so it looks nice. :)

I use this same system. However I don't label my home portal. I leave it unnamed, this way if I'm in a hurry I can drop the portal and go through quickly

This game has a TON of land to build on. Space as you put it, isn't a problem. Yes it's true you need to build a large portal room to house all that. So what? Building is the fun part.

This didn’t look easier, because the number system was falling apart very quickly. I do think having portals with names works best for me and a making the tag match the name on the map. Then you can type in the one you want to go to in the free-named portal. We do keep an escape portal that is unnamed (that is home.)

This seems fine for the solo player, but add groups of friends and it's just going to be this constant ongoing hassle as various players go through portals and rename everything constantly. Personally I feel a dedicated portal room is required, just somewhere distant from your base. Ours was on a tiny rock in the middle of the ocean, just a sealed room containing portals leading all over the show.

This is a horrible tutorial.

If the beams can support 4 and the pyramid is 20x20 its 17 iron x 5 (for one side) x 4 (for each side) = 340 iron So about the same as upgrading an iron sword.

When fighting Bonemass in the swamp, make sure to destroy all the draugr spawners near and around Bonemass’s altar. That’ll keep most draugr’s from joining the fight against you. You may get a random spawn or 2, but it’s much better than having a spawner continuously pumping out draugr. If there’s any deep puddles, use the hoe to raise the ground, you don’t want to go for a swim while fighting Bones, lol. It’ll also keep leeches from spawning in those puddles and maybe getting a bite in if you get too close. Mind the rain, the wet debuff reduces health regen by 25% and stamina regen by 15%. If you don’t have a wolf cape yet or frost meads, DO NOT fight him at night, as the cold debuff (-50% health regen and -25% stamina regen) on top of the wet debuff (-25% hp regen and -15% stamina regen) for a grand total of *-75% hp regen and -40% stamina regen* WILL get you killed. Keep your poison resist up, make sure your rested buff is up, and you should be able to take him out. I make a small portal area near the altar but out of battle range, so I can have max rested buff and not need to travel far to the altar. (It also helps you recover your stuff faster if you end up biting the dust once or twice) Good luck!

Had this idea, too. Didn´t do it, because in the long run, Valheim is mostly about building. Only change a portal address when I need to to. In the long run most people like to build big in Valheim or just quit.

I would be dead the first second of your fight if I played like this in very hard.

Load them from the rear and make a walled path connecting to your main gate with the ballistas on the sides . Problem solved . And the traps are just to slow them down not to kill them . The game doesn't want us to get so lazy that we don't have to do anything during raids . That would get boring after awhile. It helps defend your base but there is still always that fear of the raids . I do wish they wouldn't target us haha but every game has their weird glitch /setups .

the only thing that is good are, trader locations, leviathans, tar pits and also the queen spawn so close to yagluth is also good. but anyway, its nothing outstanding. everything is pretty much just regular. above avarage? a little. but not crazy at all

Thanks buddy , does the fire damage from the staff stack? Or is it better to hit them / let them burn until it goes out and then hit again ? Or just hammer smash the attack button and rain fireballs? Lol which I usually do when I panic

I've got it down to 4 portals at my main base. 2 for normal trips to established areas and 2 for exploring called 'home' and 'home2'. I just rename the normal portals for places I want to go back to and it saves me the hassle of making space for 2 dozen or more portals. *basically I give an island a name and my portals are named accordingly with numbers to differentiate.

There’s so much wrong here..

1,567 hours into Valheim and always appreciative of new seeds to explore. I've been running the same one for a while. Nice to change things up, it keeps me interested. This seed looks great, nice base build too :)

No need to afk either, just find a place with 3 geysers and build in the dead center of them. Build yourself a portal and zone in every 5ish mins while doing other stuff in-between. You just set an alarm to remind you and you'll hear them all dying as you enter that portal every time.

I do a hybrid approach where I have several portals in the home base but switch them around with a larger set of "away" portals depending on what I'm doing at the time. Or just use a mod that let's you pick the destination from a list. :)

That's the exact system i use and it is great. The only time it doesn't work as well is when playing with other people and they arent disciplined to resetting the names if they ever have to use "home"

The mass is infact, no longer moving.

If you flatten the land around Bonemass with anti Poison, good food with a iron mace its an easy fight. Go right up close keep wacking till 30% or less energy then hide for a few seconds and repeat. Bonemass is so slow.

on my screen your game is crazy dark, I couldn't tell the difference when you changed it at all 😂 I'm trying to get a gamma mod to work on valheim, no luck yet.
