Firm believer that 1960s-1980s were the panicle of traction motor sounds after that they got too quiet and too complicated

Id fly to the UK from the NZ to just hear these in person honestly as we had the same motor traction sounds on the ganz-mavag EMUs here from the 1980s (im 26 now) but they phased them out 2010+ and when I listened to this sound or videos of the ganz-mavag it would unlock core memories of my dad taking me on the trains as a kid. I work in I.T now but honestly been considering lately looking into becoming a train driver instead as I spend all my time in train sims

I think it's better to keep it secret. Or relatively secret. I haven't even been there yet but I BELIEVE it IS the true start of The Thames and is a place of occult sacred power,the good sort. Keep people in lycra doing fund raising sports challenges away,the muddy puddle will do for them.

RML 2344 was delivered new as a Country Area bus in dark green in late 1965.

I bet you were in your element! I rode on open top RM 644 on the T15 route. It was very enjoyable.

Brilliant video, I love these buses, they were designed for London transport requirements, the others are off the peg buses, could watch and ride on these all day

Some years ago, I was told the source was at Seven Springs. Near the pub.

I was lucky to be a guest in Paul and Rebecca Whitewick's new video, as I located two springs further upstream from Seven Springs, adding to the Thames source dispute.

My school geography lessons told me that the source of a river was the source at the furthest point of flow from its estuary. On that basis, and given that its a permanent source Seven Springs wins and the Thames is longest. Wonder what was behind nominating the other one, as it doesn't seem to have much going for it.

The source of river Thames is controversial and how come a dry area could be it's source.

This is probably the only example of a class of train which has had its traction converted from DC to AC and retaining its lovely motor sounds. The post-CLIP 1992 London Underground stock sound awful as they inherit the screechy motors of the S-stock.
