Here for a good time and a long time. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.
2024 Abu Dhabi Marathon
14 days into my international extravaganza I decided to run a marathon because, why not? Didn't intend to race it, but ended up having to put out a little more effort than intended. Also, it was freaking HOT HOT HOT. If you like heat and running on highway, this is the race for you.

The Inaugural Las Vegas Marathon

November 3rd 2024 Starting in Red Rock Canyon and finishing down on Fremont Street for -2300ft of elevation. I had an absolutely electric time. The race company did a great job and I could not wipe the smile from my face. New PR in 2:30:42 which was good for 3rd place overall. Highly recommend this marathon!

100 miles is far. 10,000 feet is high. Type 2 fun at its finest. 19 hours of fun, pain, and adventure. I wouldn't have it any other way. I hope you enjoy my run through the mountains because I sure did. LETS GOOOOOO
Leadville Trail Marathon 2024

Follow along as I tackle a 26-mile course with 6,000ft of elevation gain all over 10,200 feet. Highlights of this race include meeting amazing people, eating mayo at mile 14, pounding pop-tarts, and pooping in the woods. By some miracle, I end up qualifying for the 100-mile trail race. Lets GOOOO
Cody Climbs Kilimanjaro - Marangu Route 5 Days

Kilimanjaro proved to be a worthy opponent, but I emerged triumphant. The distance was not difficult, but the altitude took its toll. Follow along as I traverse through Kilimanjaro National Park towards the highest peak on the African continent.

Just a 62-mile dance in the desert. There was snow, there was mud, there were hills, there was some river crossing action. I fell a lot and ate a lot of processed sugar. Had some badass pacers to keep me company. It was not the result I wanted but absolutely zero complaints. Elite ultra-runner career loading....
The Midstate Massive - Winning my First 100 Mile Race!

The experience of a lifetime. This race is one I will never forget. I ended up winning with a time of 19 hours 47 minutes which is good for an 11:44 minute per mile pace. There was 14,000ft of elevation gain in this race. There was rain, mud, roots, rocks, pop tarts, chicken burritos, two poop breaks, and a whole lot of smiles. I would not change a single thing about how this race went down. It...

This event has been on the bucket list for a long time. It is well outside my wheelhouse as most of my adventures are on land. Previously, my kayak record was 13 miles. However, I love finding new ways to test my limits and grow as an athlete and this race definitely accomplished both of those objectives! I felt truly connected with nature. The Best Hikes in Yosemite!!!

Three days in the most beautiful place possibly on the planet. Yosemite is unlike any place I have ever seen and I loved every second I spent here. I usually don't fall for peer pressure, but my honorary dad Gregg talked me into this one. Follow along as I run over mountains and between cacti as I run my second trail race ever (and win!). I wanted to lap Gregg but he's too lightning fast.

Mount Blanca Defeats Me!!!
Просмотров 137Год назад
I attempt to hike Mt. Blanca, but the high snow year had other plans for me. Made it just over 12,000 feet and then camped for the night. 13 miles, 4,000 feet of gain, and a darn good time!
Rim to Rim to Rim - A Grand Canyon Adventure

On June 16th, 2023 I undertook an epic journey in the Grand Canyon. I began on the south rim, took the Bright Angel trail to the North Kaibab trail to the north rim, then turned around and did it all over again. My watch died with about a half mile to go but in total, the journey was almost 49 miles, took just under 11 hours, and had over 14,000ft of gain. It was very hard. I reached the upper ...
Hi Cody! I'm not quite sure exactly how i found your channel but i just watched your Leadville Marathon and Leadville 100 videos and I have to give you congratulations on both! Very impressive and inspiring!! My husband and I are running the Marathon this year and i am so pumped, we both are!! I really enjoyed watching your videos! Thanks for the positive attitude and inspiring outlook. love it!!!! Are you running the marathon again this year? oh and were also from the midwest, good ol' Nebraska! :)
@@zueblue22 hey thanks for watching and reaching out! Hope you can find some hills to train on in Nebraska because you’re going to need it! I’m not racing the marathon this year unfortunately because I started a new job and unfortunately have to deal with vacation days now (I know, gross) but I definitely want to get back to Leadville because the energy out there is incredible. You guys are going to love it!
Nice video .. what time of year did you climb and what company did you use ?
@@israrsheikh112 started on June 6th I believe. I went with Monkey adventures because they were the cheapest. Would recommend. My guide was great, food and lodging was great, no complaints
Took same route and summited on 2nd of January, way down was terrible, my guide had to help me all the way down as i was literally falling asleep all the time because i had lack of sleep in the previous couple of days.... no idea how i made it🙈 Survival mode is correct description.
@@katerinaa9344 I was the exact same. I wanted to just go to sleep. My guides were supporting me on both sides. My legs were moving but not supporting any weight. Quite an adventure for sure
Casually runs a sub 3 after walking 20000 steps a day the whole week prior
This guy is insane lmao
This cracks me up. I’ve paced for a friend there and know many people with their own ‘come to Jesus” moments running this race. Your fun and simplified approach was awesome. Seems like you might not be an amateur for too long. Well done.
@@MattUtley-Detroit thanks! I definitely saw Jesus a few times haha
What time did the race start? Congrats!!! Love the party shirt!!
Well that looked hot and awful. But ah, nice work!
Thanks!
Amazing time! Can you do a video on your training?
It’s in the works! I intend to slowly start posting more about that stuff. I haven’t done much coaching but if you want help with something I’m happy to help!
Wow. You were 58th place, top American, out of more than 1,700 finishers. The top dozen or so are all olympic champiions, so you were in some fast company! Great run! (BTW your shirt is perfect for the place. Not too Hawaiian. A little mid-Eastern. Culturally sensitive. You're turning into a sartorial connoisseur.)
Haha thanks! The shirt choice was somewhat unintentional but I’ll take credit for it.
3:43 hmm ... hamstrings tight at the 10 mile mark is strong indication of insufficient intake of Krispy Kreme donuts. Cody, diet is everything.
Don’t know how I missed this but that’s hilarious 😂. Should have scoured the Arabian shelves for pop tarts and Krispy Kreme!
Outstanding effort, in gnarly conditions! Great job, as always!
disgusting attitude
Ibuprofen is a really bad idea in ultras. If you must, take Tylenol. At the very least research NSAID and endurance events, and if you still decide to use them at least warn your viewers.
@@wk633 yes I have since been told that they are stressful for the kidneys while running. I had no clue. I’ll use them much more sparingly from now on
100% agree. As an Emergency Physician I had to send an ultra race winner to get Dialysis bc his kidneys shut down. Eliminate the NSAIDs (motrin, alive, aspirin, Etc) and use Eight hour Tylenol for ultra races. If you do take them then you MUST stay hydrated.
@ I definitely fell behind in hydration in the back half of the race. I’m assuming my brown pee was a warning sign for me to do things a bit differently next time
Pop tarts should sponsor you
@@thricestrong5484 you’re telling me man we could completely rebrand the whole idea of pop tarts
Incredible effort. Great content. So funny.
Super entertaining. This kid is legit... and nuts!
Congrats buddy! That's an awesome run! Can't wait to see what's next. We need to know when you do something in Missouri so we can collab on filming!
Hey! Sorry I completely missed this. We definitely need to link up and do something. Not sure when my next Missouri event will be but there will be one I’m sure
You the man Cody, awesome job you crushed it! 👏
Nice job Cody. Keep at it man.
I knew you were fast on trails, but man you are quick! Congrats on the podium my boy!!
Crushing it as always! I called that 2:30 finish!
I remember you from Joe bill 🎉
Awesome energy always
You’re a speedy bastard. Good job Old Man Greg!
Awesome dude!!!
So impressive, dude. Congrats on your podium finish 💪

You're gonna tell the best stories when you're old
That’s the plan! Biggest fear is living an empty life so im trying to fill it!
2:10 39 plus 48 liquid IVs but only 2 bananas! Ooh, I shoulda waited till the video was finished. Well done Mr. Pro Runner! How could you have done it without any Krispy Kremes (or maybe you were hiding them off camera)? Finally, you should have gotten best Hawaiin shirt award. Especially since it's new.
lol no crispy cremes but I did eat a handful of cookies the day before so that probably helped. The Hawaiian shirt was from the thrift shop too. That place was gold
Fantastic job Cody! The thrift store kit was legit. Well played sir!! Huge congrats on getting 3rd and bagging the comedy check.👊
@@austinado16 thanks!! Still haven’t seen any real money. I was so excited to get the big check I forgot to ask how I’d actually be paid😂
@@Cody_Poskin 😂 I bagged a couple comedy checks last fall for 2 trail Halfs that I ran, and all they wound up being, was credit toward signing up for other races with that promotor. Still a lot of fun to earn a podium spot, and hold the silly check. BTW, my daughters HS XC team had what they called, "Fresh Friday" and all of them would run in Hawaiian shirts for the run that day. So your shirt selection is always epic, and she and I will still occasionally run together in ours. Thrift stores for the win.
@ glad to hear that! HS especially is just about having fun with your team so I’m happy for them. That’s probably what I feel is missing most from my running life - just that solid “team” to joke and suffer alongside. I hope she cherishes every minute of it
You need your own pop tarts - carb tart!
@@ZachWolfe-t7l I need to reach out to Kellogg for a collaboration lol

@ I appreciate that truly! I’m trying to concoct some new video ideas. Right now I just enjoy making them but I would like to grow it. Running the las Vegas marathon this weekend so a new video should be out in a week or two!
@@Cody_Poskinsweet! Looking forward to it!
Wish I'd done this route ,you can do it over 6 days giving you a day to help with the altitude
Kaznzuri mate, I share your joy and pain, minus the ‘locked and unloaded’ stuff😂.. We summited via Lemosho-9-days to the top and back💪🏽 Couldn’t have done without our fantastic guides, porters and chefs🙏🏼
Amazing work! You should run Javelina Jundred, you could crack the top 5.
@@SirBrickzAlot I really want to throw down at that one! Guess I’ll have to wait until next year because the waitlist is insane!
Cody, you are clearly a talented young runner - this finish shows that in spades. I hope you can get a good coach who can help you shed some of your chaos and get in a disciplined mode. Telling us your stomach is troubling you while struggling to get down a Krispy Kreme is just one example. With the right coaching and organization you could be running up front in all the big races. Would love to see a young gun giving folks fits up front.
@@johnborton4522 I want that more than anything! Any good ultra coaches in mind? Not many locals for me to ask here in Missouri lol

digging your stoke good play
@@dickensrivers9862 what does that mean?
@@Cody_Poskin your attitude, aka "stoke", is appreciated.....and also that never think of myself as "work"-ing out, so refer to all training, events, physical endeavors as play...have fun out there '
@@dickensrivers9862 ahhh yes. The attitude is easy for me because I genuinely love pushing my body and playing outside. It’s never “work” for me even when it’s hard

Come run the Heartland 100 in October. You'd love it. (Kansas)
Dude, been low-key following you for a bit now. Your videos are awesome. Very few carry a camera and film like you do. I did Leadville back years ago, and that was one hell of an experience. You have the potential to really be in the grouping of top ultra guys in the country. Is this your goal? Would love to see you run some races like Javelina... you'd be flyin'. No sponsorships yet?? You are one hell of a talent man
Sick run! Congratulations. Seems like a lot of Ibuprofen considering your hydration status.
Do run a wealth management company or something like it?
@@DadBodRunning what? I’m a financial advisor if that’s what you’re asking.
Have you been calling people who finished leadville 2024 offering services?
@@DadBodRunning I’ve been reaching out to people I want to meet. I love running and the people in the sport. If I can be a resource to people professionally, great. If not that’s fine too and I got the benefit of meeting cool people I can relate to. If you want to discuss this further dm me on instagram or give me a call
@@Cody_Poskin Well I need to apologize for being rude to you on the phone today. I totally thought you were a scammer, because I just watched your leadville 100 race video and then the next day some guy calls me and I thought they were pretending to be you. Great race by the way, though it's likely we only saw each other once out there.
@@DadBodRunning haha no worries man I get it in todays day and age of AI and junk. Great race to you too, it was a fun time out there. I’ll call you back next week and we can try and connect.

It was great seeing the special guest appearance by the Nicholls brothers. That was a rough race fall wise man. That must have sucked. Great job in the race though that couldn't have been easy.
Nice special guest appearance from Augie. The Haywain shirt division is real. Great job on that marathon, what's even crazier is that you only had 6 weeks to train for that 100 mile race. I think only someone with your mindset could accomplish that.
Another smashing 100. Well done and nice video!
