You really only need to fair the wood one time.

A great tip I was told about for cutting the CNC tabs is to use a trim router with a 1/8 inch flush trim bit. It not only cuts the tabs, but it also trims off the tab leaving a perfectly smooth edge, all in one motion.

I am almost done with a 16 ft strip canoe . I ordered plans and scaled them up and built jig. I have two layers of 6 Oz glass and resin on out side. I need to roll out probably 2 more coats of resin and then I'm done with outside. Me and my wife have been high end carpenters and she was awesome on the fiberglass and epoxy. This canoe looks awesome I went on my own on with the wood working it's different and cool.

Nice video - I have a model all printed and ready to go and found your template for the foam within the assembly PDF very helpful. My issue is that I printed everything in 135% scale and I noticed your templates only went as high as 130%. Any chance there is another file for a 5% increase?

Looking at its specifications I would say it would be impossible to thermoform using boiling water. The only suggestions I can come up with would be to try using a heat gun but you’ll need to be extremely careful not to overheat any areas. The thermoforming approach is best used with PLA.

The components for the printer itself are about $600-$700 in the USA. The case would have to be obtained from the UK and is about 100 UKP the last time I looked.
