Nice job. Congratulatios!
Anyone else find this guy's explanation totally not what you signed on to see? Wtf
Hi. I know this is an old video but I have downloaded the whippletree primary and secondary from the community but cannot see how this works. Please advise
You really only need to fair the wood one time.
A great tip I was told about for cutting the CNC tabs is to use a trim router with a 1/8 inch flush trim bit. It not only cuts the tabs, but it also trims off the tab leaving a perfectly smooth edge, all in one motion.
I am almost done with a 16 ft strip canoe . I ordered plans and scaled them up and built jig. I have two layers of 6 Oz glass and resin on out side. I need to roll out probably 2 more coats of resin and then I'm done with outside. Me and my wife have been high end carpenters and she was awesome on the fiberglass and epoxy. This canoe looks awesome I went on my own on with the wood working it's different and cool.
Very good! (Hi Dad!)
do u have the file for this hand
A clear and concise explanation! The 300% scale model really made it all come together for me. Thanks for making this!
thank you so much for this video
Great work
Brilliant idea! Well thought and good design. You are truly a 3D designer
neat. i want to build one.

thank you so much for this helpful video!
Great video. I'd love to build one.
Please contact me as well as soon I'm very grateful this hand bcz i lost my right hand when I was too young or 3 years old after the eradication was continuing of dictator of president of federal government of Somalia in 1990 Please you can chat me on my WhatsApp number +252-634724827 Or my gmail m.deeq4422@gmail.com

Great work John! real smooth transition from printing to packing, especially love the custom command to send the extruder to its pack-up location :D Excellent write up on Instructables too, link here for those interested - www.instructables.com/Bergen-Makerspace-Transportable-3D-Printer/
Professional job, man
Very nice printer 😃 Thumb Up 👍
I'm having a hard time finding the foam. Where can I purchase it? Thank you.
I’ve purchased it from www.performancehealth.com/ in the past
Really great design ! Congratulations and thanks for sharing, what a great Instructables ! www.instructables.com/id/Bergen-Makerspace-Transportable-3D-Printer/
I've worked on foldable designs since a long time and i know how much work this represents. Congratulations. Our hinges kind of work the same! Can i show you mine? This is an outdated video I've done in 2015 for a kick starter campaign. ruclips.net/video/Bf7uXg3lzJg/видео.html I have a few other videos, more up to date, but the are in french ruclips.net/video/6Cz4PTrfGrM/видео.html
what is the material used for the 3d printed parts, ABS or PLA
I’ve always used PLA but others have used ABS and other materials
Nice video - I have a model all printed and ready to go and found your template for the foam within the assembly PDF very helpful. My issue is that I printed everything in 135% scale and I noticed your templates only went as high as 130%. Any chance there is another file for a 5% increase?
I’d recommend printing the 100% scale templates using a 135% magnification
I printed in an Alloy 910 and I can’t get it to bend or budge whatsoever. Can I not use this material?
Looking at its specifications I would say it would be impossible to thermoform using boiling water. The only suggestions I can come up with would be to try using a heat gun but you’ll need to be extremely careful not to overheat any areas. The thermoforming approach is best used with PLA.
Really great demonstration!
unbelievable!!!! very nice :) greetings from Turkey.
Very Innovative
Excellent tutorial, John. I'm looking forward to printing and assembling my test build. Thank you for producing this very informative video.
I like this concept. Very NICE work.! Would you be willing to share the BOM, illustrations, assembly and STL files, so I could duplicate the Transportable 3D Printer concept.? I basically have a Anet A8 I would like to modify to simulate your Transportable 3D Printer. Oh Wait..! Just located your instructable on instructables. Thank You
Very nice and well organized! I didn’t have time to build one but rather would buy it. What the costs of all this material that you build?
The components for the printer itself are about $600-$700 in the USA. The case would have to be obtained from the UK and is about 100 UKP the last time I looked.
I love it!
You can reach me at 3DHandBuild@gmail.com Thanks!
Hi John, Very nice! I've been trying to figure out a way to make a hand for myself, but no success. I was wondering if we could somehow connect, maybe through eNable. .. ?
I am trying to put a hand together but I want to know if there is a list of what you need
dm me on twitter, give me your @
Is the files for fusion360 available? Would you make available design/ parts on thingyverse and/or make facebook group(or forum post on reprap or similar) to share experience of building and tuning this particular printer. I would love to make this my next project but would be great to have design files available if need to tune to european / other part dims :)
Hello, what kind of screws you used to adjust the threads and which ones for the palm?
I saw this at ERRF2018 and it was very well designed! Great job John!
Hi John, great video. How can I get the printing files for the foam adhesive to use as templates? i have printed the Phoenix v2 pieces at 130%. I cannot seem to locate these print files. Thank you.
I’m talking about prosthetics at my graduation exam. I would be very grateful if you could send me the blueprint of the whippletree mechanism example. Please contact me as soon as possible.
great job John! just a doubt, which software do you need?
Gracias por tu pronta respuesta si no es mucha molestia facilitar los enlaces de los vendedores que mencionas para probar la compra del maletín de forma online, gracias de nuevo. Thanks for your prompt response if it is not too much trouble to provide the links of the vendors you mention to try the purchase of the briefcase online, thanks again
I'm Running into problems using eSUN's PLA+ it seems like it has a much higher glass transition temp than standard PLA. Has anyone else run into this problem?
I just reprinted the gauntlet and tried again, same material. This time thermoforming went off without a hitch. No problems. I'm not sure what changed.
Exquisite!
Beautiful work John! Really puts the show on the road too! Nice video highlighting your hard work over the last two tears or so. Congratulations.

Great design, John! Are you planning to sell kits for your foldable RepRap 3D printer? I have been looking for a kit following the foldaRap design, since I need to carry my 3D printer for after school programs.
I'm seeing whether there's a company willing to provide a kit of parts. I'll post details if I'm successful.
