a worn stem valves will also do that but your car will just burn oil first, if you see you have to add 1 or 2 quarts every 1000 miles its the valve stems.

Dirty or stuck injectors can cause the problem too. Before you spend 3grand on a set of turbos run a can of sea foam or other fuel system cleaner through a tank of gas. My sons 07 335i does the same periodically. I run a can of sea foam and it's fine for a few months. He is too cheap to run high octane fuel so his injectors get gummed up.

I got to understand very clearly the second step of RRT*, which I lacked while coding.

Mine did opposite that.. so does that mean it’s blown..?

My 2013 328i is doing the same thing on start up after its parked all night. Took it to the dealer and they said its a wastegate and turbo oil feed leak. Does this need to be changed ASAP? The dealership recommended to change the entire turbo for around 5k because they cant fix only the turbo oil line feed and wastegate they have to change the whole turbo.

Was he doing this in a library?

Hey everyone, I had smoking on deceleration, cold starts and at stop lights. I bought the FTP pcv valve that cured most of it, but also make sure you check the crankcase breather hose (flapper one) replace it with an OEM one! Don't buy one from local autoparts store as some don't work the same. Also check your vaccum pump hose, mine was cracked. Once I replaced that all my smoking went away. Hope this helps.
