Spec e46 Race Utah July 28th 2024
Taken from car 426 (me) starting from pole. Finished second. Fastest lap of the race.
Couldn't get past him. Eventually I made a couple of mistakes and lost more time in traffic. Finished 5 seconds back.

My good friend Brian Lock and I won a 5 hour endurance race together on November 13th at Thunderhill Raceway near Willows California. Our first big success as racing partners. We defeated several factory race cars from porsche, mercedez, audi, etc. to win first in our class and second overall. Our car is a Nissan 370Z designed and built by Brian. We were beat only by a bespoke "prototype" race ...

This was at the Nasa "Pro Racing" event on Saturday March 27th 2021 at Sonoma Raceway in Northern California. This is the second race of the day for "Group A" which consisted of 14 "Spec e46" cars and 50-some-odd "Spec Miatas". The BMWs (e46) are are much larger and faster than Miatas so it made for some wild racing. The video is shot from on-board car #416 which is my Spec e46 (a 2002 BMW 330C...

Sunday on Fire

We blew a part in the oil system. Made a lot of smoke and some flames and ended the race for us on Sunday. Wish I had the presence of mind to shut her down right away. It took until about 1:36 when the track crew guy did it for me. Thanks track crew. Sorry Matt. From the moment the smoke first appeared (0:13) until shut down (1:37) we have 94 seconds. Hopefully the bearings, etc. are still ok.

They dropped the yellow at the start finish so I got on it. Not sure what I was looking at but was very surprised to find the Flying Scottsmen braking for a yellow in turn one. Had enough sense to let off the brake so I could turn and miss the white bmw.

It's an all white Celica with the lift gate and tail lights all stripped out. We battle it out for several laps. First he's in the lead, then I pass him, then he retakes the lead. Finally I get past again and leave him behind as he gets caught i...

ya that’s like 60% power or something. 75% is 20 gph or more. takeoff climb from sea level is really bonkers. like you can hit 40 gph at full rich wide open throttle near sea level.

    • @rogerblackwood8815

@@boobtubeboob Doesn't sound bad? The Cherokee Six I used to fly would cruise at 15gph and could suck just over 20gph full rich on take off and climb out! And it only cruised at around 130Kn! Give me that plane anytime, but with 8 cylinders do you find the maintenance is a bit heavy?

I flew my dad's PA24-250, and it was a rocket at 250 HP. I did my first cross-country in the Comanche and contrary to my hesitancy at first, it went all too fast. Amazing 4-seater. The only problem I had was the roughness of the brakes upon landing...seemed like the instruments would pop out of the panel any second, but never did. Earlier this year I did a search on his plane number and the plane crashed in one of the Great Lakes 6 months after Dad sold it.
