I too had nothing but problems tuning this radio so I changed it to be more like the HX108-2 radio kit , R1 100k ,R2 2k, BG9 diode to a 22k resister, and R8 to 47 ohms. Works much better now, I may change more to come yet, if so I'll post here.

1978年用一首電影插曲替換了郭沫若作詞馬思聰做曲的《中国少年先锋队队歌》是因爲馬思聰在文革時受到慘無人道的迫害被逼離開生他養他的祖國，正因爲這個原因在1978年那個文革實際上還未結束的時代，因馬被認為是叛變投敵，他的作品就不能再用： 马思聪（1912年5月7日-1987年5月20日），中华人民共和国广东海丰人，作曲家、小提琴家与音乐教育家。被誉为“中国小提琴第一人”[1]。他于1937年创作的《思乡曲》，被认为是中国20世纪的音乐经典之一。 马思聪早年曾赴法国巴黎求学，并在后来考入了法国的巴黎音乐学院，主修小提琴。1932年初，马思聪由法国回到中国，并在同一年与王慕理结婚。此后陆续创作了《摇篮曲》《绥远组曲》《西藏音诗》《牧歌》等多部著名音乐作品。1949年12月，马思聪被中华人民共和国政务院任命为中央音乐学院的首任院长。 1966年6月，文化大革命开始后，马思聪遭到了批斗。1967年1月15日晚，马思聪与夫人王慕理、次女马瑞雪和儿子马如龙出走香港，后由美国驻香港领事陪同飞抵美国。4月12日，美国国务院公布，北京中央音乐学院院长马思聪逃出中国大陆，来纽约避难。同年5月，公安部成立的“马思聪专案组”（又名“002号专案组”）开始对马思聪出走的经过进行调查，株连马家亲属数十人。1968年，经康生、谢富治批准，被定为“叛国投敌分子”。1985年获得平反。 1987年5月，马思聪在美国接受心脏手术时手术失败，于5月20日逝世于美国费城，享年75岁。 2007年，马思聪及其夫人的骨灰在儿子马如龙等四位亲人的护送下抵达广州。

I just got mine. Does your headphone switch turn off the speakers or do the speakers continue to play? Mine switches off the headphones but not the speakers. Also if I was to tube roll it what would you recommend? Thanks

啊！回到了1986年的初夏，大学同学带来了印着西洋男女封面的“恋人浪漫曲”磁带，陶醉其中，可看到放在外文书店礼盒里45元的价格（共六盒，平均每盒要7块半），实在下不了手，后来听说图书馆正好有一套可以翻录，就买了1元1盒最便宜的磁带，加上5毛钱的翻录费，每盒区区一块五就搞定，还复印了磁带封面用彩笔着色，同寝室同学看到后还以为原装的，为此得瑟了好久！

Happy to report changing R1 from 60k to 100k helped issues with self oscillating/motor boating as you mentioned, I to have found this kit the hardest I have built it's taken 2 kits to get some sort of half descent performance the first kit I had to write if of but handy for spares for missing parts in the 2nd kit, I also mounted the ferrite rod aerial coil exactly the way yours is in video which is a good compromise however to get maximum performance it ideally needs to be mounted in a way that is to hard to mount unless I made modifications anyway it’s good enough for my local stations

Japan,s Boys radio works as a 1-V-2 reflex circuit... if need extra sensitivity, it can convert to 2-V-2 reflex circuit.

I ran mine with a graphic equalizer I had laying around and was astounded by the results. No hum, great bass and low end, great treble. Made my speakers sound even better. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this.
