Love this.presentation, easy to understand, short, fast and practical. Great work!
Awesome, thank you!
I'm new to 3d printing and this was driving me crazy. Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏
You’re welcome 😊
Best RUclipsr you made a updated guide
Thanks for saying so. I'm glad it helped.
@@MyEngineeringProjects Thanks for the video, it's very helpful as a novice doing this stuff. Can I ask why you only have 3 bed clips on the print bed in this video instead of 4? Is this a glass bed? And is there an optimal position to place the clips with regard to the CR touch? Thanks :)
Yes it's a glass plate. The 4th clip caught on something and fell off. I need to replace it. 2 in the front and 2 in the back about how I have them works best for me.
Wish you had done this for a PC as well since the files are different.
I don't have a Windows machine to test. You could open a ticket up with ZWO. It's possible you have a defective focuser.
Really similar. Be sure you have the EAF plugged into your PC [use power supply if 12 volt] then download and unZip the EAF_FWUpdate_win_v3.3.8.. Then Run ElectricDeviceFWUpdate_3.3.8.exe. If it doesn't open then you have to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Setup [run vcredist_x86]. Then open the Update screen and scan for the EAF, then Run. The update will proceed. Very similar to the above Mac version. It will verify the update, EAF Version 3.3.8 or similar.
Thanx for the Video. If I may ask, could one also add the Focuser to the Fine Tune/Gold Knob, by removing that one? Would that make the Focuser even smother/better? Many thanx.
Good question. The ZWO focuser is already geared down, so placing it on the fine focus knob is not necessary. They specifically designed it to go on the course knob. It would probably work o the fine, but I have not tested it.
Hows this comming?
It worked. I do need to gear it down because this free refractor has no fine speed control. You can see the first test here ruclips.net/video/jrAV25ZPZSQ/видео.html
I’m so sad bc this just happened to my Ender3 and nothing is unplugged. I am so new to 3D printers I don’t know what to do and I’m under a deadline to get things printed too 😭😭 if you can help me please reply! X
First check to see if your limit switches are connected. you might also need to check to see if they are plugged in correctly at the board. One loose switch connection can cause this issue
What attachment mechanism did you use to attach the lens to the mount?
I designed and 3D printed a support bracket
@@MyEngineeringProjects I thought it might be that. Unfortunately, we don't all have 3D printers.
How long will this battery last?
Not very long it’s just a demonstration battery. It has fairly low current.
@@MyEngineeringProjects will it work for a few minutes or hours? I want it to work during my school's science exhibition. Btw very nice video.👍
For a school science project, you can run the LED for a while a few hours probably it’ll be enough to show how it works
@@MyEngineeringProjects I have one more question for you. Can I use a thick aluminium wire instead of the galvanized nails?
It will work but bear in mind that each metal has different characteristics and produce different voltages.
I printed out the Hypatia Crayford on printables, and it works pretty well. It had a few issue I had to get around, making sure the heatsets are perfectly straight, and epoxying the knobs to the rod, as the grub screws slipped real easily, though my rod was stainless. Cutting the aluminum strips was also a bit of a pain, because you can't have it bend or curl, and it needs to be straight to fin into the depressions in the tube, a Dremel was too hard to keep straight, so a small hacksaw worked great for that. It is working fine for me now, though the collet slips out of the main screw cap, making it a requirement to forcefully pull the eyepiece out on occasion, but I think that is a printing issue, as I had one iteration of the cap and collet that worked fine, til I dropped it down a mountain.
I'll have to checkout that design. Glad you got it working well.
@NoGoBu more than this, if you look for videos like the earth this is totally away to bee the same...

Ok.
mine is still in chinese? help lol
Not sure what version you are using, but for V2 Try navigating to Prepare which is the top right, then going down to the A symbol which is just below the temperature symbol, then you should be able to find English. For other versions this would be different.
Great video and thanks! The other night I was going through the guiding process when I got an error stating "backlash clearing failed: Star did not move enough". Guiding would not complete successfully - any idea what might have caused this issue?
Try to increase the step size. During the calibration process, the ASIAir will command the scope to move a bit over and over. If it does not move enough to detect a change of position, the calibration process may fail. From memory I think mine is set to 2000 but I would have to confirm.
@@MyEngineeringProjects - Thank you - I'll give it a try!
@@MyEngineeringProjects - Just checked my step setting and it also says 2000. I did recently insert a different camera, so I'll try resetting as you mentioned in your video.
Yes very good idea. I had the same issue where I forgot to re-calibrate when I swapped cameras. Guiding failed until I deleted the calibration and started over.
When I put in my Sd card it never loads and stays on a blue screen
This is likely a firmware issue. You might have the wrong version installed for your board. Double check your board and the version you downloaded from Creality's site.
Thank you! I just went to clone an SDCard, and I discovered that rpi-clone has disappeared!
Glad I could help!
I have a Ender 3v1 with Cr touch installed. Do I need to reinstall the CR touch if I upgrade to Sprite extruder?
I’m not sure since I have not used the sprite extruder but you probably will have to move the cr touch to the sprite.
Mine extrudes whenever it is changing filament but during prints it just doesn’t extrude. The gold thingy moves but the silver thingy doesn’t
On my printer when I updated the firmware I don’t have the control menu I don’t know what to do
I would try a different version of the firmware. Their website that has the downloads is really hard to navigate. Also, check the board version number and make sure it matches the firmware you downloaded.
@@MyEngineeringProjects How would I do that? I don't see any old firmware on the creality website. My firmware for the board number is correct.
You don’t need to cover it up
I agree, but I don't like looking at it so that's why I put a lid on the box.
How easily could this be adapted for a larger mirror, like 203mm/8"
It would be challenging to do this. If you simply tried to scale the STL, then it would make everything bigger such as the nut holders and holes for the rods. This would break the design. One option is to import the model into CAD and then keep connectors the same but increase the size of the mirror holder and related parts.
@@MyEngineeringProjects I was also thinking it would make parts too large for most 3d printers. Would maybe have to divide them into the smaller pieces.
Hey Thank you for making this video Is that visualization window part of the stellarium app installed on your pc?
Glad it helped. Yes it is and it's also available on their mobile app. It's great for planning.
Thanks for this, and the USB copy/move method used to work flawlessly for me. But today, I tried to copy to a USB but the ASI Air Plus doesn't even recognize the USB stick. Any ideas? Thanks!
It the ASIAir won't recognize it, then likey it is corrupted or an incorrect format. I have had some usb drives fail without warning and cannot be mounted. Not sure if this your issue, but it's a good place to start. Try testing the stick in a computer first.
@@MyEngineeringProjects Thanks for your reply!
You dodged a bullet there! Quick and easy fix. BTW, most limit switches are inexpensive and cheaply made. It's not uncommon for limit switches to fail. I toasted a huge NEMA 34 12NM stepper because of a limit switch issue and I didn't catch it fast enough. From now on I only use configurations with normally closed (NC) limit switches. Creality is using normally open (NO) switches.
Interesting. I like the idea of the normally closed switches. I was lucky for sure. I heard a banging noise and knew I only had a few seconds to shut off the power. Fortunately the board and motor is ok but what a close call.
I have an ender 3 pro and my silver wheel is above the filament and i don't know how to get is to be in the right level as the filament , I have tried tightening the screw and it is still above the filament, any advice?
I don't have the pro version, but look for a spacer that should not be there like a washer of some sort. It also might be in upside down. Not really sure without looking at it myself.
My printer starts off fine then starts under extruding making the final product but with holes and less stability. Any advice ??
I would check to make sure you have the right nozzle size and that it is not obstructed. If it's too small or partially blocked, that could cause under extrusion.
Perfect job!
Thank you.
thanks man!
Happy to help!
Just started a dog poop compost about two weeks ago. Saw that today, when I opened the lid, there were a whole lot of maggots and freaked out 😮
Nice job on this video. I have a spare stepper motor/driver/controller if you want it.
Cool, thanks. I was tearing my hair out on this one. Glad I finally figured out what was wrong. I'm printing the next component now for the auto focuser.
Excellent video!
Thanks, glad you liked it. Pretty cool that a cloning tool is built right into the software.
I have 4.2.2 board and I had some glitches on the screen after I updated to the same firmware you chose. I tried updating to GD-Ender-3HW4.2.2SW2.0.8.2CRTouchFilamentEuropeMulti and it seems to be alright except from being in chinese, but I managed to change it with the help of google translate. I'll update if it works later.
I'm not sure what went wrong. Keep me posted.
@@MyEngineeringProjects I found a video of some guy saying that some 4.2.2 boards have different memory sizes which causes screen glitches on some firmwares. This version worked for me and after fixing nozzle heating problem with PID tuning it works great. It feels so weird hearing Z motor all the time but I'll get used it. Thanks for your video, it really helped me with the installation.
Awesome glad you got it working. I was not aware of a memory issue but that's good information.

I'm wondering if the tension on the PLA is too low given that a larger diameter PLA worked.
How to add amps to Earth batteries and crystal power cells! In 1861 telluric energy was discovered in the Alps. Today this technology is commonly called an earth battery, EB. Earth batteries work great at producing voltage. We can build an earth battery in series and create as many volts as desired. However, the amperage in an EB is very low. This is what has hindered the usefulness of the amazing earth battery. Here is how to build an earth battery. ruclips.net/video/aCCK132OIGA/видео.html Adding amperage is quite simple and key to making real power. Power = Amps * Volts. We have to increase the current in amps to produce any real power. A simple law of physics shows that wiring in parallel will add the amps of the power sources. We need to introduce a source of high amps. A solar panel wired in parallel to the EB will give the circuit much needed amps. I built this and tested it several times. It works. This hybrid system can produce limitless green energy. The secret will be to have a special solar panel built. One that wires all the photovoltaic cells in parallel to maximize the amperage. One 4-inch square photovoltaic cell produces 3 amps. This super amp solar panel will make the system a powerhouse. Here is an example of a 175 volt earth battery. ruclips.net/video/Ffb78oXeiGI/видео.htmlsi=xWuSFsGtIzPLB2w1
Never occurred that this was the case for me. Thank you so much for this video!
You're welcome I'm glad it helped. Note that if you had the exact same issue as in the video, that means that the extruder bracket is broken. I didn't realize it at the time of shooting. It's a simple fix to replace it with a metal version.
@@MyEngineeringProjects I have the metal version. the grub screws must not have been tightened enough and the gear slid down out of alignment. Your video helped me take a closer look and see the problem. Thanks again
Ok great. Glad you got it fixed.
Need to re name: Battery Issues and Solutions.
There are many options for video titles. This title was chosen due to the fact that someone who is having difficulty connection probably does not know it's related to the battery. By naming it as I did, it allows those with the same issue to find a solution. In addition, Wifi interference is also shown in the video which has nothing to do with the battery.
You saved me so much pain by removing the Z switch like that, you're a lifesaver!
Great to hear. I'm so glad helped.
bomba! 💣💣💣
So like, i dont have a telescope and am instead trying to figure out what happens when a telescope is pointed at the ground… Ive been on this topic for like 2 hours and its really late at night… What does it look like??? I was thinking it would look like a microscope but i imagine the focal points are different and stuff… Do you just see black? A blurry mess? I REALLLLYYYY want to know, i even ended up landing myself into the flat earth community on the topic of pointing a telescope at the oceans horizon… I dont know what going on anymore I just want answers
You will only see a black blurry blob
@@MyEngineeringProjects this is so sad
Hi, after removing the tension screw, how did you determine which of the other screws to remove on the focuser to enable you to attach the mounting bracket? i.e. there are three on the coarse focuser side. The Svbony website recommends not touching any of them.
We have to remove 2 to attach the bracket, but we essentially put them back into the same holes when the bracket is installed. That will ensure that the focuser is securely mounted as well as the motor for the electronic focuser. I think this is why they are saying not to touch them.
@@MyEngineeringProjects thank you, that makes perfect sense.
Perhaps it's the Blue Kachina. The Hopi Indians said we would observe it at sunset 7 years before the red Kachina. The Hopi say it will crash to earth. Perhaps on June 2nd, when it makes it closest, earth pass bye.
This can change the climate , and it can`t be fixed.
Very nice
Thanks
Can we put citric acid and vinegar both?
I have not tried that but it might work. What reason would you have to use 2 acids together?
@@MyEngineeringProjects once I was washing my ss pan with white coats of minerals due to boiling water, with Citric acid granules. I found that those streaks vanished. I 've seen it cleaning old coins as well so I thought why not to experiment.
Massive Thank You!! I simply would not have gotten through the programming without you! Crazy to initialize a battery on zero capacity instead of full capacity. No one wants to do that to their batteries.
Glad it helped. I didn't want to take my batteries to zero either. They did it for those who just want it done for them.
Cool photos! I'm curious, is the tail of the comet an indication the comet is shedding particles? Wondering if the comet is getting smaller over time.
Yes you are right. Comets spew out gases and material as they heat up when they get close to the sun. This material forms the head of the comet. The material gets thrown out over millions of miles forming the tail. Really interesting.
