The wind chose violence. This is amongst one of the loudest sirens I have ever heard. If the wind was not maxing out the mic, the siren was. First siren test of 2024. Decided to venture out to Iowa to meet up with some people. We selected this Sentry in Brooklyn, IA. Shoutout to my Nikon for not working today, so all shots were shot with my S21. Sirens in Poweshiek County are tested on the first Saturday of the month at 10AM. Fremont Trains

After the siren test, I happened to come across an empty coal train with an old ex-Burlington Northern SD70 pushing on the rear, and made a trip out of it.

I received word through online groups that this train would be going south to Union and turning back around. I was able to get in front of it in Bellevue and again just north of Union before daylight ran out. The train symbol was PCBCB. Still learning how to do things in DaVinci Resolve, so the style of the videos is subject to change

This siren does not do fast wail, which could be a remnant from when this siren was an XT22. Also Cass County tested early today, which never happens. Cass County tests their sirens on the first Saturday of the month at 11am.

This by far might be one of the loudest sirens I have ever heard. After finding out when Glenwood tests back in the spring, I made the trip over this month to record one of two OM-117s in the county. Mills County, Iowa tests on the first Saturday of the month at 10AM.

Decided to record this Thunderbolt on this misty and dreary Saturday morning. Sounds like it has some issues with the collector rings. I also attempted to record a siren in Cass County but that failed. The sirens in Saunders County are tested on the first Saturday of the month at 10AM. Other people there: @jacksvacssafety2620

Sorry for the video being out of focus, this day was a trainwreck to say the least. We had experience two failures prior and lo and behold the sketchiest working siren of the day goes off right at test time. Warren County tests their sirens on the first Saturday of the month at 1PM.
