Tenho muitas boas memórias sem dúvida. Foi o meu primeiro mundial que vi em 2006 e tinha 6 anos de idade. Até aos dias de hoje foi o melhor que já vi. Nasci em Portugal filho de pais angolanos. Lembro-me bem de apoiar na 1ª primeira parte a seleção angolana em seguida ser ralhado pelo meu pai que eu devia apoiar a seleção portuguesa.😂

One correction: the best players in the world played in Brazil from 1950 to 1972. Before 1950 and WW2, Uruguay and Italy were the football powerhouses. After 1970 the powerhouse was Brazil alone and all of the players competed inside the country. Pelé declined an absurd offer from Real Madrid in 1966, because of the Brazilian dictatorship of course, and because he wanted to "keep playing against the best". The offer was 3 times the amount that Barça would offer Maradona 25 years later. Really absurd. Another example was that the Brazilian state competitions were so much better than any league worldwide that brazilian teams literally used to send reserve squads to compete in international tournaments while the main squad would rest or simply play domestic games. So the part in the beginning saying "the Brazilian league was far from competitive" is just ignorance at its finest.

The 2006 WC was one to remember for me.Cuz it was my country of Trinidad&Tobago's first World Cup appearance.But it was sad to see that Angola didn't reach the R16.If parallel universes existed.They would of probably made it.But their future seems bright.Hope to see them make it in 2026.
