    I'm 42, been into alternative music my whole life, and I'm not straight; it saddens me deeply that today is my first time hearing this angel and discovered he passed away from AIDS. The universe it a B**** for taking such a talent from us so early.

    First time I've heard that one. Pretty complicated. His band worked hard on this.

    Harmony is deafening And lovers don't amuse Oh Lord, I'm bored I could cry! Lack of sane indifference impaling all our blues Oh Lord, I'm bored I could die! I'd love to know what makes you want to come to blows I'd love a good fight! Just to know that I don't have to think tonight Just to keep our love in shape, we've got to fight Just to taste your bleeding passion Weak, I'll always turn the other cheek for you my love You need a good fight Good fight [x4] You'd like to smash my pretty face You know you just can't wait Oh Lord now I'm bored Bored to tears So come on emulsify me, crucify me And show me you're awake Oh Lord, now I'm bored Bored to death! I'd love to Osterize you Then to drink your juice I'd love a good fight Just to know that I don't have to think tonight Just to keep our love in shape we got to fight Just to taste your bleeding passion Weak, I'll always turn the other cheek for you My love, I need a good fight Good fight [x4] I need a good fight!.... Just to know that I don't have to think tonight Just to keep our love insane we got to fight! Just to taste your bleeding passion Weak, I'll always turn the other cheek for you My love you needa good fight Good fight [x4] Slap me! Bite me! Now how ya like me? Come on! Club me, rub me, show me you love me Uh huhh.... Good fight! {got these lyrics from a message board. can't confirm accuracy.}

    I can't believe my favorite Jobriath song only has a few views on RUclips after 9 years, and isn't on Spotify. More people just NEED to hear this and all of his amazing work. He was such a brilliantly talented artist, it kills me that he's still not getting the recognition he deserves.

    • @lucyd75
      @lucyd75 3 года назад

      @@katie2275 As far as I know, it was first released in 2004, when Morrissey produced the Lonely Planet Boy compilation. It was recorded in 74, for the third album that was never completed.

      Ok, I’m 57 years old and thought I knew everything about glam rock, the 70’s and gay artists. Today I ran across a vid on tictok featuring gay recording artists. It was all Gorge Michael, Freddy Mercury, Luther Van dross, and then… wtf is this … Jobriath??? How is it possible that I’ve gone my entire life without knowing of this person and his brilliance? I’ve been so deprived. But no more.

    I am intrigued. I played on almost all of Jobriath's recordings and demos back in the early 70's including a bunch of songs that never made it to the two Elektra albums. While I recognize the piano and voice (piano quite reminiscent of "Good Times", and the voice obviosly Job, the actual sound of this recording, particularly the drums, is so far away from the sound Eddie got back in '71-3 that I am really curious. Where does this come from?

      Bowie borrowed some style and costuming ideas from both Jobriath and Klaus Nomi. I adored Bowie, but he wasn't known as the Rock & Roll Chameleon for nothing.

      Bowie nicked Anthony Newley's whole thing early on in his career. Compare "laughing gnome" with, say, Newley's cover(s) of "pop goes the weasel", especially the vocal delivery
