I agree & believe that these markings, that I too have in the woods surrounding where I live, are full of these structures, markings, nests, bends, |X| ∆ ¥ <--x ^^ π\÷ arches, then there's vines ripped down from trees & now woven or wrapped into natural existing thickets or made into lean tos. Just a guess, but maybe what our traffic/road signs are to us, these strange structures mark their routes & trails just as the Native Americans used to bend trees as trail markers, that are still around today... those very trail marker tree bends showed the way for others, that usually led to streams, rivers & creeks & tributaries. But some of these snapped trees (mostly pines) that are broken over, usually have most of the bark stripped clean & ones left standing will have some patches around 10 to 12 feet up that will be scrapped down to the wet yellow bark & you know its not where larger trees have fell against them causing that to skin em, because there'll be no limb or fell tree lying there under it.

the CB radios are still used in planes and tractor trailer trucks. This CB cord was from a pulpwood hauling truck on a logging road in the wilderness.
