Didnt need to cut off the mirror heat wires, just unclip, I also presume the mirrors are not electric as there wasnt a control module.....

did the new pipe last? i swapped my egr a few months back - not sure how many miles ago and im wondering if i didnt get the egr cooler 100% tight cos i was struggling missing a t25 from memory. So i need to double check there is no play in the cooler otherwise itl be cracking the next pipe. Bloody awful things they are. So crap for getting to everythng.

I had an older 5hp Honda and it was great. I didn't care for the vibration though so I went back to their small 8hp twin. A few pounds heavier but much smoother and a bit more power. Today's 8hp four strokes are much heavier than the old BF8 Classic.

Dont't be fooled by theese adds. Complete ripp off as the 5 hp. carb is the same, no speed improvement expected. Despite the std engine often revs to the limiter (6000) so no carb would make any improvement. Aliexpress sells theese for 25 bucks but if you want real speed extensive mods needs to be done but not worth the hazzle.

Excellent video! Our Transporter was in for EU check today and came was failed due to the OBD saying the EGR had problems. I've been witching a lot of videos tonight, and this one is the first I can conclude has the exact same EGR and mounting. Ours is a 2012 VW T5 2.0 4-Motion btw.

They changed it a bit over the years- no lever but a small, insignificant seeming rubber knob- pushed up on it and followed your directions and it worked. THANK YOU!

Informative, but you all over the show. It's hard to keep up.

Definitely tighten all the bolts before driving. I had a shop replace my EGR the first time it went, and they broke one of the bolt threads off in the block🤦🏻‍♂️ I went through 6 of those stainless steel flex pipes before I realised why it was failing. With only three bolts holding my EGR (which were loose too) the movement kept causing that pipe to fail. When it fails it starts off cracking and you can smell exhaust fumes in the cabin, until it finally cracks all the way around the pipe and you loose turbo boost, plus it sounds like an engine with the exhaust removed! The best thing to clean the core out on the EGR is to soak it in a bucket of water with caustic soda in it. Leave it overnight and it will come out clean. Cheers

I have the same set up as a tender. Couldn't get it to plain I had a 4 hp 2 stroke thouatsu I tried and for some reason the boat took off like a cat , going into a bit of a chop as well. Definitely over 13 , not sure why the honda wouldn't do it .
