How Good Was PRIME John Elway?
Просмотров 17 тыс.4 месяца назад
When discussions about the greatest NFL quarterbacks arise, names like Tom Brady, Joe Montana, and Peyton Manning are often mentioned. However, John Elway's remarkable career deserves equal recognition in these conversations. Known for his powerful arm, exceptional mobility, and knack for making clutch plays, Elway's impact on the game is undeniable. Born in Port Angeles, Washington, he was rai...
they should have paid him!
Eric Dickerson's run from '83-'88 is IMO the best 6 year stretch of any RB in NFL history.
And that was in 14 games not 16
He's the only player I took a picture beside his bust of when I went to the NFL HOF. That dude was just one of the best I ever saw.
Elway lost 3 Super Bowls before winning 2 in a row. No one else can say that. In the crop of HOF QB's that came out, Marino, Elway and Jim Kelly only Elway eventually got rings on the way out. The Broncos were always up there but it wasn't until they have a lights out RB that they were able to get over the hump.
It's too bad Dickerson was never in an offense that had a decent passing game or his running game would have been HIGHER. or been in a spread version of the Don Coryell offense like the Rams Bob and Weave offense in St Louis.
Lots of videos on here on how he lost it all anyways…was all about “getting his” since high school for Christ’s sake, and still ended up broke lol! Not many caucasian people pulling off that move, gotta respect him for that 🫡

For my money, the best I've ever seen when the pressure was on, and considering the era he played on, and some of the sorry ass teams he led. We saw how good he was, at an advanced age, once he had an elite team around him. It was like taking candy from a baby for that team. The one stain is that loss to Jacksonville in 1996, they had NO biz losing to them. Always reminds me of Pippen and Portland shitting the bed in game 7 vs. the Lakers. Had Pippen taken over offensively, vs. distributing to the younger guys who all played freaking scared, he probably wins a title w/out MJ and catapults himself into another stratosphere of GOATS.
VANCE JOHNSON #82! From Tucson, Arizona! Hometown legend! 👍💪
I saw at least a couple of throws in his HIGH SCHOOL highlights that looked as good or better than the throws I saw him make with the Broncos. He already had one of the best arms in NFL history when he was in high school.
My favorite player in nfl history
Elway is the reason we track 4qtr comebacks as a statistic. I believe he retired with 47.
What a rifle arm you had to see it live.
Almost never mentioned in the running back GOAT arguments (which are pointless, BTW), but he has a strong case.
@@charlesm7589 💯💯
Drew wasnt really overlooked per se. High top tier schools didn't want to risk a QB who had torn his acl in high school. People recognized the talent.
I was living in Denver the last two years that Elway played. I went to a game right before Shanahan started coaching. The Broncos sucked for a few years. The stadium was only halfway filled up. At least when the Packers sucked they always filled up the stadium.
I watched Eric from day one in NFL. College was a disaster, but if you lived then … you understood it was simply a way of life. There even was a a parody movie about it, “ Johnie Be Good” in the 88-89 range! As a professional I saw nothing wrong with the best player in the world wanting $$$. The Rams were the Bears off the west coast…. As in Dead moths on owners wallets! Until Georgia took over the $$ and spent it like a drunken Michael Jackson, they were cheap! In fact NFL players were working in the offseason until?? I don’t know All the NFL players today should thank him for their paychex!!
Barry Sanders & premurder OJ didn’t get a ring, it didn’t affect their greatness? love Eric, but Sanders is my favorite …. Faulk is another, and Payton was the best Football player I ever saw
Kurt Warner was one of a kind.
@@trvaron He truly was. As an STL rams fan, I’ll always cherish those greatest show on turf days
I am STEELERS FAN.... BUT AN ERIC DICKERSON FAN... BEST BACK
I agree. Dickerson was elite
Brees is my favorite QB of all time #WhoDat
amen
In the early 90s, it was the Cowboys, 49ers, and the Packers for the NFC. Look at the stacked rosters of the Cowboys and 49ers from that era. Favre was a big reason the Packers were even there. Once Reggie evened it out, back to back Super Bowls.

Glanville proving he knows nothing about football😂
This is what the Lions have been doing the last 2 years. Just watch the BS they do. DIRTY
People seem to forget that Dan Campbell was on the Saints in 2009…
Better than Rodgers
💯💯💯
Vikings are the Packers' biggest rival? You sure about that?
This comes off as super fan boy, you didn't go into stats much especially the negative ones.
Good to know. I will try to highlight more stats in future videos. I appreciate the feedback
How good was Brett Favre actually? Ask the Vikings fans in 2009 when he lobbed a wounded duck pass into a bunch of New Orlean's defenders in the 4th quarter of the NFC Championship and cost the Vikings a trip to the Super Bowl. We will say not very good at all.
I bet Sydney Rice would disagree
When's the last time your team got that close?
Brett Favre epitomized “The Gunslinger Quarterback” mentality. Known for his fearless approach, he wasn't afraid to take risks and throw deep passes, even in tight coverage. Favre's career was marked by incredible plays, record-breaking stats, and some heart-stopping moments that kept fans on the edge of their seats🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈

My favorite qb. What a player
LT IS THE MOST DOMINANT DEFENSIVE PLAYER
Reggie, Donald, Sap, Bruce, LT Thats my 5 man front not the order i picked them
Very solid list
I'm going 4-3, the line would be Reggie, Randle, Donald, and Peppers. That front four is completely absurd.
Reggie White, Alan Page, Joe Greene, Deacon Jones. LT at OLB
@ great call on mean Joe Greene
Reggie said God told me to go to Green Bay to win a Superbowl with anyone else that would of sounded ridiculous But not with him and he was a team player when the media started saying he is the leader of the defense he would correct them and say Laroy Butler is the leader which was true
💯💯
His first three years were legendary. Rams were idiotic to not pay him properly. How you give a man a carrot cake when he breaks the single season rushing record as a reward? It's only five running backs i would want on my team...ED, juice, barry, Payton or Marcus Allen
OJ 🧱 played in 14 game season when he gained 2000 yards Dickerson played in 16 gm season so OJ still the 👞
Reggie, LT, Aaron Donald and Suh. If I had them ALL on ONE line, you'd break every team record that ever existed.
💯💯
Fyi love your profile Reggie, Bruce , Sap, Donald , LT
@@ChristopherRenner-c7q Do you mean Bruce Smith from the Bills? Because, yeah, he was incredible, too.
@ appreciate it. Very solid list💯
oh i thought this was about LT
That move he had, where he would slap the blocker in the chest-WITH ONE HAND- and throw him off balance, while using the momentum to spin himself around and duck inside....that was incredible. Bear in mind, that one arm push was being used to throw ENORMOUS men off balance...generally men who were well over 300 lbs...Reggie was strong as the proverbial bull...
Completely agree 💯. His strength was uncanny
The most respectable 2nd string QB, as a giant fan
Kurt was unbelievable!
@@FalseOracle617 💯
Tony Gonzalez’s legacy in the NFL can be measured by his outstanding statistical production over 17 years. He was top-five in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns in what felt like every season. He possessed generational receiving skills, which made him a matchup nightmare. He did something no tight end has done in the history of the league.
Completely agree💯💯
@@TheGamedayGiantsFun Fact: He played basketball at University of California.
Kurt Warner had a long journey from being undrafted to being one of the best players in the league
💯💯
Eric Dickerson was drafted into Hall Of Fame Draft 1983 John Elway Dan Marino Jim Kelly . Eric scored 18 touchdowns and thousand yards and broke OJ record of over 2000 yards and playoff record 248 yards beat Dallas Cowboys.
no one beats barry sanders
roger craig should be in the hall
My Favorite RB of all time. Unique running Style, Straight Up. Deceptively Fast, and when he realized he could run people over, Legend.
@@Fogman5678 💯💯
Eric was great.
The rams were fools not to pay him what he was worth people paid to see him play
The that changed how great players held out for their worth. Emmit Smith held out and everyone screamed "pay him". The same for many stars today. But when you're the first to buck the system, they come after you hard.
