Very sad... When my wife was a nursing student at Arnot Ogden Hospital we went to the Arnot Mall all the time, it was sooo busy. Holiday shopping every year, the Mall was packed with people. So many good memories, very hard to see this and not get choked up. A piece of my youth gone forever. I have one wonderful photo of my girlfriend, now wife, 45 years ago at the Mall, one of my favorite photos of when we met. Good times so long ago....

I wish I could have gone there :(

This actually really makes me sad because I like department stores with aesthetics like these! Very 80s and 90s! A department store that still has the charm of old school Hecht’s. This was back when everyone shopped at these places. Unfortunately, the writing is on the wall with this one, and really the entire mall including the anchors are doomed.

Other than feeling bad for the employees who will soon be out of work, can someone please explain why anyone loves Kmart so much to be sad about it closing. The last Kmart I went to was in Dubuque, IA when it closed in March 2017. I don't remember shedding a tear. I DO remember thinking it was extremely dated. As though I'd entered a time capsule back into the 1990's. It's what happens when you don't invest in your business or plan well for the future. Feel bad for employees who lost their jobs. But as a whole, Kmart is reaping what it has sown. It's how business works.

I don't understand why they insist on clogging up the main aisle with goods yet they don't have enough goods to fill their walls. Weird.

I think most of these companies are just stupid. All they need to do is re-invent themselves. They only need to keep the tools, and the appliances. Bring in all kinds of different products. Similar to the things WalMart, Target, and Best Buy sell. Additionally, seeing as both Radio Shack and Sears were failing. They could form a conglomerate. They could sell all the radio shack soldering irons, etc. in the tool section at Sears.

Oh cool, my local mall. I believe JCPenney was the first anchor to open with the mall in 1971. Surprisingly this mall still does well and especially around the holidays parking is hard to find.

Sadly, it does not look at all like this today witch is very sad it has gotten older and slowly slowing down

This mall collapse has even led to Dave and busters leaving in there back in the spring For the first time since 2018,Long island Only has 2 Dave and busters stores I hope the company gets an expansion here soon

Nice! Just realized I pass by this mall all the time when I go to Pennsylvania because I mostly visit Hersheypark, Lancaster and Mountville. I normally stay at a hotel in Mountville and that's right next to Lancaster lol.

I used to work at EBgames there. Lots of memories. Don’t understand why people want to drive to 15 different strip malls to shop while malls fall apart. Miss the good times before cell phones. This was social media when people were actually social.

For those wondering, it's still around, and it's still occupied, but they refuse to fix the big, open areas. So people with acrophobia can have a better shopping experience

This is a nice store. Unfortunately given the state of the mall it's in and the sparse inventory in the store, I think Macy's will soon close this location.

Song name?

It would make more sense to close one floor completely and move all the products to the other floors. That way it wouldn't be so obvious that the store's too big for the volume of sales, while these spread-out displays fool no one.
